Fabrizio Romano said on YouTube: “Arsenal are advancing in talks to sign Jeremy Monga. Arsenal are ahead of all the other English top clubs interested in this boy. The negotiation is ongoing between all parties involved.

“Player side, club side, Leicester, Arsenal. So let’s wait for the next steps. But there is confidence, real confidence at Arsenal to sign Jeremy Monga. Obviously is one for the future.

“He’s a 16-year-old kid. But they believe at Arsenal this is a special talent and so Arsenal are pushing to anticipate the other clubs. There is a conversation ongoing. Let’s wait in terms of timing to see when, how things will move to the final stages, but Arsenal are confident of signing Jeremy.”

Monga will fancy a big move

The opportunity to join the Premier League champions will be exciting for the young attacker as well. Arsenal have done well to nurture young players in the past, and they could help him fulfil his potential. Regular Premier League football could bring out the best in him and accelerate his development.

Arsenal need more pace and unpredictability in the wide areas, and the 16-year-old could be ideal for them. He would add much-needed cutting edge going forward.

Arsenal are reportedly “pushing” to advance a transfer move for Leicester City wonderkid Jeremy Monga, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 16-year-old winger is widely regarded as one of the biggest prospects in the country at the moment, and he’s long been linked with the Gunners.

Arsenal were first strongly linked with Monga by the Telegraph about a month ago, and now Romano, one of the most reliable journalists for transfer news, has confirmed that the north London giants are pushing for this deal.

Arsenal to build on Premier League title victory

Arsenal will want to ensure they don’t stand still after winning the 2025/26 Premier League title, with the club surely set to have a busy summer.

Mikel Arteta’s side will still feel they can improve on the campaign just gone, with the Champions League now surely set to be firmly in their sights after the pain of losing last week’s final on penalties to Paris Saint-Germain.

While big-name signings will surely be on the agenda, building for the future by bringing in a top talent like Monga also looks like good business.

Arsenal have a lot of elite young players in their squad, particularly the likes of Myles Lewis-Skelly and Max Dowman who have risen up through their academy.

If they can add Monga as well, they’ll feel they’re really set for the long term.

For Leicester, this would be yet another blow after a difficult couple of years in which they’ve suffered back-to-back relegations, as they now prepare for life in League One.

Arsenal are reportedly in talks to sign Leicester City winger Jeremy Monga, with the 16-year-old attracting serious attention from some of the biggest clubs in England and Europe.

According to Ben Jacobs, several top sides have made approaches for the teenager, and Leicester are believed to have received as many as eight formal enquiries.

Arsenal are among the clubs pushing hardest, but this is already shaping up to be a competitive race.

Monga is viewed as one of the brightest young attacking talents in English football.

Despite his age, he has already been involved at senior level for Leicester and has shown flashes of the pace, confidence and directness that make scouts take notice quickly.

Arsenal’s interest fits their wider recruitment strategy.

Reports have also suggested Arsenal see him as part of their next generation, especially as they continue looking for more quality in wide areas.

The Sun reported that Monga has made 28 first-team appearances for Leicester, scoring once and assisting twice.

The fee could become complicated. Monga may cost more than £10 million, which is a lot for a 16-year-old, but not unusual when elite clubs are competing for a top prospect.

The transfer may face some complications

If no agreement is reached between clubs, the transfer could end up going to a tribunal to decide the compensation fee.

That tribunal possibility makes this different from a normal transfer.

Leicester will feel they deserve strong compensation after developing him, while Arsenal and other clubs may believe the fee should reflect his age and contract situation rather than his potential ceiling.

Arsenal should absolutely explore this deal, but they need to be patient with Monga. He is clearly talented, but he is still only 16.

The worst thing would be to sign him and immediately treat him like a first-team solution.

This feels like a smart long-term move rather than a headline signing for next season.

If Arsenal can convince him there is a clear pathway, not just academy football, but genuine development towards the senior team, they could have a real gem.
