Williams is coming off a career-best season, throwing for 3,942 yards, 27 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, while adding 288 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. One of the biggest reasons for Williamsβ improvement was the offensive line and his pocket awareness, which led to a drop in sacks from a league-high 68 sacks in his rookie season to just 24 in 2025.
Bears and Williams fans will be hoping that he can continue his improvement and avoid the dreaded Madden Curse when the team hits the field for the 2026 campaign. Chicago kicks off its regular season on the road on Sunday, September 13, against the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium.
