After making Lowell their home to start their run, the Boston Fleet will officially move to the Boston area for the 2026-27 season.

In a release, it was announced that Fleet games during the 2026-27 season will emanate from Agganis Arena in Boston, moving out of the Tsongas Center.

Home to the Boston University Terriers, Agganis Arena can hold up to 6,150 for hockey, with a full capacity of 8,000 seats. The Tsongas Center could hold up to 10,003 people, with 6,500 seats for hockey games.

β€œWe couldn’t be more excited to bring the Boston Fleet to Agganis Arena full-time,” said Boston Fleet Director of Business Operations Laura Marie Davey in a release. β€œThe passion for the Fleet in the City of Boston has continued to grow since our first game at Agganis, and this move allows us to build on that momentum while creating new opportunities to connect with supporters throughout Greater Boston, the South Shore and Rhode Island.

One of the original clubs when the PWHL formed in 2023, the Fleet played at the Tsongas Center from 2024 to 2026. The team recently made the semifinals of the PWHL Finals, losing against the Ottawa Charge. They are led by Olympians Aerin Frankel and Megan Keller.

The Fleet built a loyal fanbase in the Lowell area. However, per Boston.com, commuter issues resulted in attendance issues at the Tsongas Center during weekday games. The team averaged 4,938 fans at the Tsongas Center and averaged 5,238 in a few games at the Agganis Arena.

β€œWe’re deeply grateful to the Lowell community and our partners at the Tsongas Center, whose support has been instrumental to the growth of our organization. We look forward to carrying that support with us as we begin this next chapter,” Davey said.
