‘Now I Feel Stronger’ – Ramadan Ondash Reloaded For Flyweight Debut Against Suriyanlek At The Inner Circle On May 29
Lebanese phenom Ramadan “The Scorpion” Ondash has already showcased terrifying knockout power at strawweight. Now, as he moves up a division, fans may be about to witness a completely different animal.
After four electrifying wins and multiple knockdowns across five appearances in ONE Friday Fights, the 19-year-old returns to action against Suriyanlek Por Yenying in a highly anticipated flyweight Muay Thai showdown at The Inner Circle on Friday, May 29.
The blockbuster event airs live exclusively for subscribers on live.onefc.com from Bangkok’s legendary Lumpinee Stadium.
Ondash enters the matchup looking to bounce back from the first setback of his ONE Championship career — a razor-close and deeply emotional battle against Aliff Sor Dechapan at ONE Fight Night 38 last December.
While a future rematch with the Thai-Malaysian contender remains one of his primary long-term goals, Ondash and his team ultimately decided that the flyweight division represents the next natural step in his martial arts evolution.
He explained:
“My body changed because I don’t have fat in my body, only muscles. My team told me moving up is better for me because now I feel stronger, more conditioning, more power. I feel very good.
“Next week you will see a different Ramadan. Different from before. More relaxed. More clear. I changed my mind a little bit.”
The move up in weight may prove highly dangerous for the rest of the division.
Still just 19 years old, Ondash continues developing physically. According to the Lebanese striker, the additional size and freedom at the 135-pound limit have already helped him feel sharper, stronger, and far more complete during his training camp.
More importantly, the teenage sensation firmly believes fans will see a calmer and more mature version of his fighting style against Suriyanlek.
The battle-tested Thai veteran owns an impressive 85-21 professional record and has emerged as one of the most consistent performers in the ONE Friday Fights series, compiling 11 victories through his trademark forward pressure, ironclad durability, and a fearless willingness to engage in ferocious exchanges.
Still, “The Scorpion” sounds far more excited than intimidated by the stylistic matchup.
He said:
“He’s a good fighter. He has good hands, strong hands, power. It will be a very good fight.”
Stylistically, this clash has all the makings of an absolute thriller.
Unlike Aliff’s movement-heavy style, Suriyanlek prefers marching straight forward and trading heavy combinations in close range. That is exactly the type of chaotic environment where Ondash has historically looked his absolute most dangerous.
But according to the Tiger Muay Thai phenom, fans should not expect the exact same approach this time around. Known primarily for his slick boxing combinations and aggressive pressure, Ondash hinted that he has spent significant time sharpening new weapons ahead of his flyweight debut.
He offered:
“Maybe more kicks this time. I trained very hard for this fight. Almost three months. Even during Ramadan I was training. I don’t stop training.
“I want to do my best and show the fans who Ramadan Ondash is.”
Ondash Eyes Explosive Showdown With Ghazali
Even before stepping into the ring against Suriyanlek Por Yenying, Ramadan Ondash already knows exactly who he wants to face next: Johan “Jojo” Ghazali.
The potential matchup between the two teenage knockout artists has rapidly become one of the most talked-about fantasy fights among Muay Thai fans online.
Young, fearless, highly explosive, and wildly popular among Gen Z audiences, both martial artists are widely viewed as the future global faces of the sport.
According to Ondash, the epic matchup almost sells itself.
He said:
“Everybody wants to see me and Jojo. We are both strong, young, and we have big futures together. A very beautiful fight.”
The two actually go back several years. Ondash first met Ghazali during their amateur days, competing in IFMA tournaments long before either teenager emerged as a global superstar under the ONE banner.
While their relationship remains respectful outside the ropes, Ondash made it crystal clear that friendship would not matter once the opening bell rings.
“The Scorpion” stated:
“We were friends. But inside the ring there are no friends. After the fight we can be friends again.”
More importantly, the Lebanese striker already has the perfect stage in mind for this dream showdown.
Following the massive success of ONE’s blockbuster event in Japan earlier this year, Ondash revealed that competing at ONE SAMURAI has become one of his ultimate career goals. And if he gets through Suriyanlek in style, he wants Ghazali waiting for him there.
Ondash concluded:
“If I win this fight, I want to fight Jojo at ONE SAMURAI event in Japan. I love Japan. It’s my dream to fight there. I want to fight at ONE SAMURAI 2 in August.”
