Recent information from well-known Chinese tipsters points to several upgrades across the lineup, suggesting that Xiaomi may focus on display technology, privacy features and camera improvements for its next-generation flagship phones.

Xiaomi 18 Pro may introduce privacy-focused display technology

According to details shared by tipsters Digital Chat Station and Smart Pikachu, Xiaomi is testing a new flagship Pro model equipped with a next-generation 2K display and integrated privacy protection technology. The feature is said to combine hardware and software solutions to prevent nearby people from viewing on-screen content, offering enhanced protection for messages, passwords and other sensitive information.

While the device was not named directly, speculation points to the Xiaomi 18 Pro. The leak follows reports that Samsung is also exploring similar privacy display solutions for future Galaxy flagship devices, indicating that privacy-focused screens could become a new trend in the premium smartphone segment.

Smart Pikachu recently claimed that the Xiaomi 18 series is currently scheduled to launch in September. The lineup is expected to retain Xiaomi’s secondary rear display concept while introducing a customized 200-megapixel LOFIC main camera. The phones are also tipped to feature displays with larger corner radii, an effective 2K resolution and higher peak brightness compared to the previous generation.

On the software side, the Xiaomi 18 family is expected to run HyperOS 4. Leaks suggest the interface could introduce a new light-inspired visual style while bringing deeper AI integration across applications. Speaking of AI integration, recent reports have revealed that the series will feature a dedicated AI button.

As of now, Xiaomi has not confirmed any of these details.
