Samsung equips Ferrari Luce supercar with 3D cinematic OLED displays
Samsung Display has just made it official: Ferrari Luce will be powered by four types of custom OLED displays, with the Korean tech giant gaining exclusive supplier access.
On May 25, Ferrari Luce made its official debut at the World Premiere event in Italy. Following the launch, Samsung Display announced that it will supply 12.9-inch, 12-inch, 10.1-inch, and 6.3-inch OLED panels for the Ferrari Luce.
The new supercar is equipped with three digital interfaces:
- A driver’s binnacle in front of the steering wheel.
- A central control panel for climate and media functions.
- A rear-seat control panel that lets passengers manage climate settings and view driving information.
For its new Luce model, Ferrari collaborated with Samsung to bring two OLED panels into the binnacle. Together, the two OLEDs are stacked to create a 3D (three-dimensional) effect, leveraging a multi-layered display structure.

Additionally, Samsung Display detailed that the lower 12-inch panel shows the main background and indexes, while the upper 12.9-inch panel contains three circular openings that allow visibility of the lower display to show:
- Real-time torque information
- Popup notifications
- Warning indicators
The company also detailed its “layered structure” approach, which creates an analog-like sense of realism. There’s a space between the displays, which allows drivers to move the physical needles for a seamless operating experience.
“Samsung Display was able to fully support the Ferrari Luce’s design philosophy of seamless software and hardware integration,” said Ernesto Lasalandra, Ferrari Chief Research & Development Officer.
