Dover 8U Cal Ripken dominates, claims Kittredge tourney crown

ROCHESTER - The Dover Cal Ripken 8-year-old all-star baseball team won all five of its games and won its division at the 20th annual Kittredge Memorial Tournament at Roger Allen Park on Sunday, June 14.

Dover opened the tournament with pool-play wins over Oyster River (13-3), Windham (12-3), and Roger Allen (10-5). Dover then beat Barrington, 5-2 in the semifinals, and Windham, 9-1 in the championship.Β

β€œOur league, coaches and families couldn’t be happier for this group," Dover head coach Jordan Anderson said. "This team has been a two-year project and they’re seeing their hard work pay off. They’ll enjoy this one, but know it’s just the start of our journey this summer.”

Members of the team include Elliott Anderson, Jack Fogarty, Matty Jones, Preston Mathien, Amari LaFleur, Benny Adams, Nolan McGann, Hudson Fortier, Brooks Daly, Oliver Royer and Bennett Clancy. The team batboy is Parker Jones, and assistant coaches are Nate Jones and Justin Fogarty.

Dover will next play in the 8-year-old Cal Ripken state tournament in Londonderry, running July 10-19.
