Synology Brings AI-Powered Private Cloud, Backup, and New Surveillance Solutions to Computex 2026

Synology had plenty to show at Computex 2026 in Taipei, unveiling a broad range of new products and software updates focused on AI, private cloud, data protection, and surveillance, but while many focused on AI, Synology focused on keeping users data private and under control with all those AI enhancements. The biggest update is the next generation of DSM, Synology's operating system that powers its NAS systems. The company is leaning heavily into AI features, adding smarter automation tools, AI-assisted workflows, and improved management for both businesses and larger deployments. Since the company is focusing on data security, those same AI features are meant to be run locally instead of relying entirely on cloud services.

Synology also showcased updates to its ActiveProtect platform, including ActiveProtect Manager 2.0 and the new DP5200, which promises further flexibility for deployment. The updated platform now supports more cloud and virtualization services while also adding AI-powered threat and anomaly detection. The company is obviously focusing on enterprise backup and cybersecurity due to raising AI-related security issues. On the surveillance side, which also fell victim to AI, Synology introduced new cameras, access control products, and updated DVA systems with smarter AI-powered search and tracking capabilities. The company also previewed Surveillance365, a hybrid cloud surveillance platform aimed at easier remote and multi-site monitoring.

Cougar also included an integrated VRM fan below the screen, which should further eliminate cooling blind spots as well as side vent channels on the pump head. As said, the new LQX Pro 360 uses the new VRX PWM fans with an annular blade design, which promise both high-efficiency and low-noise. In addition, Cougar also brought the LQX Elite 360, which uses the same design but replaces the screen with a large ARGB panel with a matte finish and lacks the integrated VRM fan. On the other hand, it features the same VRX fans.

(PR) Microsoft Introduces New Surface RTX Spark Dev Box for Developers

Software developers are some of the most ambitious makers we serve. They push devices harder, ask more of their tools and expect their environment to help define the pace of modern software creation. Development today means longer running jobs, larger models and a growing need to prototype and iterate locally rather than paying for every cloud call. That is why we embarked on a project to build two new Surface devices designed specifically for the needs of these makers.

Earlier this week, we introduced Surface Laptop Ultra, a high-performance laptop built for developers, creators and technical professionals who need serious performance wherever they work. Today at Microsoft Build, we are introducing Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, a compact developer PC engineered with NVIDIA RTX Spark superchip and built on the Windows developer platform, designed for local-first AI development. Surface RTX Spark Dev Box is for developers who want to prototype, fine-tune and run capable models on their desk, and reach for the cloud when the work calls for it. Together, Surface Laptop Ultra and Surface RTX Spark Dev Box represent the next step for Surface: purpose-built devices for the people building what's next.
