Premier League teams fear Anderson deal could blow up summer midfielder market

15 June 2026 at 18:45

Elliot Anderson is one of England’s most in demand players, and his move could have serious ripple effects.

Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph is today reporting that Premier League teams are worried that Elliot Anderson’s impending move from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City for more than £100m is going to inflate prices in this window, particularly for central midfielders.

Crop of English midfield stars could blow market open

Any Premier League team who wants to sign a central midfielder – and that likely includes Chelsea, Arsenal and Man U – would therefore like to get a deal done before Anderson’s incoming mega-fee resets the market.

The likes of Adam Wharton and Alex Scott are being heavily linked with moves in the months to come, and the fees commanded by Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are likely to rise significantly if Anderson makes his big money move as expected later this summer.

As it stands, Chelsea’s signings of Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez for more than £100m each are the benchmarks for elite players with top level experience moving at a young age. When it finally happens, Anderson’s move is expected to match that – and potentially even beat it.

PSG and Arsenal are the two teams most strongly linked with breakout star of the World Cup, Ayyoud Bouaddi. They will have to break records to sign him, however.

Ismael Saibari is closing in on a move to join Bayern Munich, with a medical set to take place in the USA in the coming days.

PSG and Arsenal will have to break Romeo Lavia record to sign rising star of World Cup

Lille are set to demand a record fee for their teenage central midfielder, with Arsenal and PSG the most likely to pay it as it stands.

The World Cup always brings big moves and plenty of rumours, and before even the first round of games has been completed one of the breakout stars of the tournament already looks to have emerged.

Morocco’s hugely impressive 1-1 draw against Brazil was the most high profile match of the competition so far, and the star of the show was sensational teenage midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi.

He ran the show against the Selecao, and it’s no surprise that transfer interest in the Lille starlet has ramped up since.

Teenage talent fee could smash records

TeamTalk are reporting that Arsenal and PSG are the front runners to sign him, but it won’t come cheap.

A £60m fee would be the highest ever for a teenage central midfielder, breaking the record set by Chelsea’s disastrous signing of Romeo Lavia.

Given Bouaddi’s age and potential, it would still seem like a pretty good deal. If he keeps playing well at the World Cup and Morocco go far in the tournament, the number could climb even higher.

Chelsea are going to make a number of signings this summer – but Alex Scott won’t be one of them if you listen to quotes from sources close to the club.

Medical set for £45m Bayern Munich transfer after breakout moment on world stage

Ismael Saibari is close to a deal to join Bayern Munich, and could join in a matter of days after doing his medical in the USA.

The World Cup is well underway – but that won’t stop transfer deals being done. Real Madrid just confirmed the signing of Marc Cucurella from Chelsea, and other deals are soon set to follow.

One of the next to happen could be the arrival of Ismael Saibari at Bayern Munich. TalkSport are reporting that Bayern are closing in on a £45m deal to sign the attacker from PSV as competition for Harry Kane up top in their impressive attacking unit.

Medical set for €45m transfer

Saibari has been one of the big winners of the tournament so far, netting a superb goal for an impressive Morocco team against Brazil in the most high profile game so far.

But Bayern aren’t signing him off the back of that moment – the speed at which this deal is coming together shows they have been working on it for a while. If anything, Bayern might be annoyed that a big moment on a big stage has potentially boosted Saibari’s price even more.

The TalkSport report says that the 25 year old will do his medical in the USA, and the deal could be concluded in a matter of days.

Sources rule out Chelsea from chasing top midfielder wanted by Man U and Arsenal

15 June 2026 at 16:07

Chelsea are being linked with a number of targets this summer – but sources have ruled them out of the chase for one Premier League star.

The World Cup is underway, and the attention of the football world is focused there, but in the background transfers are starting to happen too.

Chelsea are expected to be busy, following the appointment of Xabi Alonso as manager. They have already sold Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid, but moves the other way are coming too as the club prepare to try and battle back into the Champions League.

Chelsea ruled out of chase for rising Premier League star

A name being mentioned in connection with the Blues as well as a number of other Premier League sides is Alex Scott of Bournemouth.

An all action number 8, his energy was a huge part of Andoni Iraola’s successful side. But Bobby Vincent’s piece for Football.London looking at the Blues’ plans for the summer makes it clear that he’s not on the list:

“Alex Scott’s name was mentioned online towards the back end of last season but sources close to the club dismissed the links with the highly-rated Bournemouth midfielder,” Vincent wrote.

With Chelsea out of the running, teams like Spurs, Man United and Arsenal should all have a clearer run at the rising star. It’s not clear what Chelsea’s plans are if Scott is not on the cards. They need a reliable midfielder, and that’s especially true if Enzo Fernandez leaves the club, a move which looks likely at this point.
