Crystal Palace eye ambitious January move for Tottenham attacker

13 December 2025 at 14:07

Crystal Palace are exploring an ambitious January swoop for Tottenham Hotspur winger Brennan Johnson, according to The Telegraph.

Manager Oliver Glasner is eager to strengthen his attacking options as the Eagles look to push for European qualification in the second half of the season.

Palace have identified Johnson as one of several potential attacking targets, with the Wales international seen as an ideal fit for Glasner’s high-tempo system.

The 24-year-old has been admired within the club for some time, and his ability to play across the forward line makes him a versatile option.

Crystal Palace want to add more attacking depth

Glasner’s side have shown flashes of brilliance this campaign but have struggled with depth in attack.

Ismaila Sarr’s ankle ligament injury, coupled with his likely participation in the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal, has left Palace short of options in wide areas.

The Austrian coach is determined to bring in reinforcements to ease the pressure on his current attackers.

Since his £47.5 million move from Nottingham Forest in 2023, Johnson has had mixed fortunes at Spurs.

He wrote his name into club folklore with his Europa League final-winning goal, but under new manager Thomas Frank, the winger has struggled for regular minutes this season.

Reports suggest that Spurs’ stance will dictate whether a move materialises. Tottenham are not actively looking to sell Johnson but could be open to loan offers if they secure an attacking reinforcement of their own in January.

Frank reportedly remains an admirer of the player’s energy and work rate, but with fierce competition for places, his future in north London is not entirely secure.

Palace’s interest in the Spurs winger underlines their ambition under Glasner, who has been backed by chairman Steve Parish and sporting director Matt Hobbs to add quality in January.

With Tottenham juggling domestic and European commitments, their willingness to sanction his departure, even temporarily, remains uncertain.

Sources: PL club eyeing Chelsea transfer target in saga that could impact Liverpool

12 December 2025 at 13:36

Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in a transfer move for Sporting Lisbon centre-back Ousmane Diomande, but they face competition from Crystal Palace.

As first reported here for the Daily Briefing, the Eagles are making Diomande a top target to replace Marc Guehi, who continues to be targeted by Liverpool and other big clubs around Europe.

Sporting don’t want to sell Diomande and are pointing to his €80m release clause, which one imagines could prove problematic for Palace, but perhaps less so for Chelsea.

Other top clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal, and Newcastle are also understood to have scouted Diomande in recent times.

The current feeling among sources in the industry is that Palace are showing the strongest interest in Diomande, followed by Chelsea.

This is a clear signal that the south Londoners are planning for life without Guehi, who won’t be signing a new contract and who is due to become a free agent next summer.

The England international was targeted by Liverpool towards the end of last summer’s transfer window, only for Palace to pull the plug late on as they didn’t have a replacement.

If they can land a talent like Diomande to strengthen their defence, however, then that would help fill the gap left by Guehi.

Marc Guehi not necessarily joining Liverpool

LFC fans will no doubt hope this is a boost for them in their pursuit of Guehi, but it doesn’t necessarily mean Anfield will be his next destination.

The 25-year-old will have numerous other suitors in for him, so in many ways Palace’s interest in Diomande doesn’t directly change that much.

It is yet another indication, however, that Guehi’s future lies away from Selhurst Park, so some Reds fans will surely see that as a positive, even if that already looked likely some time ago anyway.

Talks planned: Liverpool transfer target has important meeting scheduled for January 1st

12 December 2025 at 10:17

Bayern Munich chief Max Eberl is reportedly planning talks with Crystal Palace centre-back and Liverpool transfer target Marc Guehi on January 1st.

The England international is nearing the end of his contract with Palace, and is free to start negotiating a move for next season from January onwards.

This only applies to clubs from abroad, so it could give Bayern an edge over Liverpool, who also remain interested, according to Sky Germany.

Marc Guehi set for face-to-face Bayern Munich transfer talks

According to the report, Eberl is now set to meet Guehi directly to negotiate a move to Bayern, with the Bundesliga giants said to have a strong interest in the 25-year-old.

It seems Eberl has already had contacts with Guehi’s representatives, and he’ll now look to establish contacts with the player himself to try to move his club into pole position.

This could be bad news for Liverpool, and it tallies well with a recent report from the Athletic which stated that they were no longer the favourites for Guehi’s signature despite coming so close to signing him in the summer.

Where should Marc Guehi go next?

Palace fans will probably be hoping that Guehi chooses a move abroad instead of moving to a Premier League rival, but what would be the best move for the player himself?

Fellow Englishman Harry Kane has really enjoyed his time at Bayern so far, so it could be a tempting move for Guehi if he wants to ensure he’s playing for a top club in the Champions League and challenging for major trophies.

Vincent Kompany is also doing a hugely impressive job at Bayern, so one imagines plenty of the world’s best players would be tempted to go there right now.

Liverpool, by contrast, have really gone quickly downhill since their Premier League title victory last season.

Guehi might no longer be so sure about a move to Anfield as it’s not even guaranteed that they’ll be able to offer Champions League football next season.

LFC could really do with Guehi choosing them, though, as they need a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, while Ibrahima Konate’s future is in doubt as he’s also due to be out of contract at the end of this campaign.

Leeds to battle Crystal Palace for “real talent” they have been following since 2020

11 December 2025 at 20:00

Crystal Palace and Leeds United are interested in signing the Bodo/Glimt star Jens Petter Hauge.

The 26-year old has done quite well for his club and country, and he could be a very useful acquisition for the two Premier League clubs. Crystal Palace need more quality and depth in the attacking unit, and Hauge would add goals and creativity in the final third.

Leeds keen on Jens Petter Hauge

The report from TEAMtalk claims that Leeds United have been following the players since 2020, and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done. They have struggled in the attack this season, and they need to improve in that area of the pitch. They are fighting for survival in the Premier League. Signing the right players in January could help them stay up.

Hauge has been described as a “real talent” by Erling Haaland in the past. Hauge was linked with Manchester United a few years ago as well.

The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be quite exciting for him. He will look to prove himself at the highest level.

Leeds United could provide him with the platform to showcase his qualities in the Premier League. If he manages to impress, he might be able to secure a bigger move in future.

Similarly, Crystal Palace would be an attractive destination as well. They managed to win the FA Cup last season and the Community Shield in recent months. They have an exciting project, and they are competing in European football.

It will be interesting to see which of the two clubs comes forward with an offer to sign the player. He has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in English football, and he could be a very useful acquisition for both teams during the second half of the season.

“From what I’m told..”: Crystal Palace make decision on the future of “important player”

11 December 2025 at 03:00

Crystal Palace are hoping to agree on a new contract with Daichi Kamada.

The Japanese International has been outstanding since joining the London club. He is nearing the end of his deal, and he will be a free agent in the summer. According to Football Insider, Crystal Palace are now looking to keep him at the club for the long term.

Palace want new deal for Daichi Kamada

“Kamada has become an important player for Palace,” Mick Brown told Football Insider.

“He’s slotted into the side brilliantly, especially this season after what was a slow start, and obviously was key in the team that won the FA Cup last year.

“He is another example of what I think is the best thing about Crystal Palace, he works hard for the team, plays his role and there’s no ego or arrogance about him.

“From what I’m told, the management and coaching staff rate him very highly, and that’s always a positive when they have that sort of relationship.

“Palace are determined to recognise what he’s brought to the team, and to keep hold of him because of how impressive he has been.”

He has been a key player for them since joining on a free transfer, and it makes sense for them to tie him down to a new deal. It will be interesting to see if they can secure an agreement with the player.

He is capable of operating in multiple roles, and he will add goals and creativity to the side. Crystal Palace are already likely to lose Marc Guehi soon, and they will not want to lose the midfielder as well. It remains to be seen whether the player is prepared to commit his future to the club.

He is enjoying his football in the Premier League, and he’s playing for a competitive team with a quality manager. There is no reason for him to leave the club, and it is fair to assume that an agreement will be reached eventually.

Crystal Palace recently won the FA Cup and the Community Shield. They will look to fight for trophies fairly regularly, and they need to keep their best players. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.

10 December 2025 at 01:20

Crystal Palace are interested in signing the UCD midfielder Adam Brennan.

According to a report from Football Insider, they will face competition from Birmingham, Hull City, and Wrexham. The 18-year-old has done quite well in the First Division of Irish football with UCD, and his performances have attracted the attention of multiple clubs.

Adam Brennan has done well

The 18-year-old is a talented player with a bright future, and a move to the Premier League could be an exciting opportunity for him. Crystal Palace could groom him into an important first-team player in the near future. They have done well to nurture young players in recent years, and Brennan will certainly be attracted to the idea of joining them. They are a big club and are competing in European football. They have managed to win the FA Cup and the Community Shield in recent months as well.
