Casio has just released a new set of G-Shock watches in the US, focusing on smaller sizes and a unique glass treatment. The new lineup includes four hybrid analog-digital watches based on the company’s popular octagonal design, often referred to by fans as the CasiOak. The main draw for these new models is the polarized glass, which shifts in color depending on the angle of your wrist.

Design Details and Pricing

To get this effect, Casio uses a polarized vapor deposition process on the mineral glass. It basically gives the watch face a colorful gradient that changes as it catches the light. It’s an interesting design choice, though Casio is upfront about a practical drawback: the reflections and color shifts can make the dial hard to read in certain lighting conditions. It is a detail worth keeping in mind if you prefer straightforward utility over aesthetics.

The release is split into two different styles, both designed to fit smaller wrists. The first pair, the GMA-P2100SR-7A and GMA-P2100SR-1A, are priced at $135. These models use translucent resin for both the case and the band, giving them a clear, casual look. Because they are made entirely of resin, they are quite light, weighing in at just 40 grams.

The second pair, the GM-S2110SR-1A and GM-S2110SR-7A, are a bit more expensive at $210. These swap the resin bezel for stainless steel, which adds a bit of weight (56 grams) and gives the watch a more traditional metallic appearance. Casio also used bio-based resin for the bands on these metal models, a material the company has been incorporating lately to try and lower its environmental footprint.

Aside from the new glass and the smaller footprint, these function like standard G-Shock watches. They come with the usual features you would expect: shock resistance, 200 meters of water resistance, world time for 31 time zones, a stopwatch, a countdown timer, and daily alarms. They also have a built-in LED backlight to help you see the time in the dark. All four watches run on a standard CR1025 battery, which Casio says should last for about three years before needing a replacement.

All four models are available to purchase now. If you have a smaller wrist or just prefer a more compact watch, these are a practical option, provided you are okay with the color-shifting glass occasionally getting in the way of reading the time.

According to the company, the video feed is processed locally on the device, analyzed in real time, and immediately deleted. The fan doesn’t send images to the cloud or identify specific people.

The camera also acts as an energy-saving tool. If the fan sees that you have left the room, it stops oscillating. If the room stays empty for an hour, it drops into a lower-power auto mode, though it continues to monitor air quality. While basic motion sensors could handle simple presence detection, Dyson went with a camera to allow for the targeted tracking.

As an air purifier, it has the standard setup you would expect from Dyson’s recent models. It uses a fully sealed HEPA H13 filter to catch small particles like pollen and pet dander, along with a carbon filter that the company says absorbs 50% more nitrogen dioxide than its older models. It also includes a permanent filter for breaking down formaldehyde. For noise, Dyson says this model is 50% quieter in its sleep mode compared to its maximum setting.

On the software side, the new purifier supports the Matter smart home standard. This means you can connect it directly to Apple Home, Google Home, or Amazon Alexa without having to rely solely on Dyson’s own app.

The purifier stands 41.3 inches tall with a base diameter of 8.6 inches. It weighs 12 pounds, keeping its physical footprint relatively standard for tower fans.

Earlier this year at CES 2026, Dell stated it wanted to make its Alienware brand more accessible to people who don’t want to spend premium prices. After releasing a $350 QD-OLED monitor last month, the company is now applying that same strategy to its laptops with the new Alienware 15.

The most noticeable change to the Alienware 15 is its shape. For years, Alienware laptops have featured a large thermal shelf protruding from the back of the device. Dell has completely removed it here. The result is a much more standard-looking laptop with a 180-degree hinge.

The chassis is made of black polycarbonate rather than metal, which keeps the weight at about 4.96 pounds. It still has the glowing Alien head on the lid, but otherwise, it looks like a normal laptop that can easily fit into a standard backpack.

Inside, Dell is offering a mix of current-generation processors. You can configure it with AMD Ryzen 5 220 or Ryzen 7 260 chips, or opt for Intel Core 5 210H or Core 7 240H processors.

For graphics, the options range from older entry-level cards like the RTX 3050 and 4050, up to Nvidia’s newer RTX 5050 and 5060 GPUs. The RTX 50-series cards are capped at an 85W maximum graphics power, which makes sense given the smaller cooling footprint of the redesigned chassis. Memory and storage are straightforward, with two upgradeable DDR5 RAM slots and up to a 1TB Gen 4 NVMe SSD.

To keep the price down, Dell clearly had to make some compromises, and the display is the most obvious one. The 15.3-inch 1920 x 1200 screen has a 165Hz refresh rate, which is fine for standard gaming. However, it only reaches 300 nits of brightness and covers just 62.5 percent of the sRGB color space. It will work for playing games indoors, but it isn’t a screen you would want to use for photo or video editing.

Port selection is practical, featuring an Ethernet jack, HDMI 2.1, two USB-A ports, and two USB-C ports, one of which supports 100W charging.

Dell is placing the Alienware 15 in its new Core tier, sitting below the mid-range Aurora models and the high-end Area-51 laptops. Starting at $1,299 for the AMD variants and $1,349 for the Intel models, it isn’t a high-end machine. However, by removing the expensive chassis materials and using a basic display, Dell has put together a straightforward laptop for people who just want to play games without spending flagship money.

Lenovo just shared the details for its 2026 Legion Y7000X gaming laptop. It’s a 15-inch machine that pairs Intel’s new Core Ultra processors with Nvidia’s RTX 50-series graphics. If you live outside of China, you will likely see this same hardware sold as the Lenovo Legion 5i (specifically the 15IAX11 model).

The display is a 15.3-inch OLED panel with a 2560 x 1600 resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. Lenovo says it has a 0.3ms response time. Because it uses an OLED panel, it carries VESA’s DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification and reaches a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. It also covers the full DCI-P3 color gamut and comes factory-calibrated, so it should work fine for photo or video editing if you need to use it for tasks other than gaming.

Inside, the base model runs on an Intel Core Ultra 7 251HX processor (an 18-core, 18-thread chip that boosts up to 5.1GHz). For graphics, it uses an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 laptop GPU. The system is designed to handle up to 170W of total power, with 115W allocated to the GPU. To manage the heat from these components, Lenovo is using its second-generation Qiankun cooling system.

Lenovo has launched a new budget gaming monitor called Lecoo N2757Q in China. It costs 799 yuan ($118) and is now listed on JD.com.
