Ranking WNBA mascots based on how cool they are

The WNBA is inarguably in its golden era, having become a cultural juggernaut, with the sidelines as star-studded as the paint. While the players are shattering records, a different kind of competition is heating up: the battle for mascot supremacy.

Gone are the days when a mascot was just someone in a fuzzy suit throwing t-shirts into the cheap seats. In 2026, these characters are fashion icons, TikTok legends, and the heart of their respective cities.

With the arrival of expansion franchises like the Golden State Valkyries and the Toronto Tempo, the mascot landscape has never been more diverse or competitive.

We’ve seen New York’s Ellie the Elephant land brand deals with Telfar, while the new expansion teams are already trying to claim their territory with high-tech reveals and lore.

Whether they are backflipping off trampolines or serving looks in custom jerseys, these mascots define their franchise’s vibe. The right amount of charisma, cool factor, and crowd engagement helped determine the ranking of all the current WNBA mascots, including expansion mysteries and legacy icons, currently gracing the hardwood.
