Samsung Health now lets you have a virtual sit-down with your doctor

Samsung Health is making it easier for people to have a visit with their doctor using a new virtual appointment feature, the company has announced. Virtual doctor visits aren’t new in general, but they are new to Samsung Health users. Samsung is partnering with HealthTap to bring this feature to the app, and it’ll allow users to do everything from calling their doctors to booking a consultation and having a virtual visit.

This one-stop shop feature of sorts should be particularly useful to anyone who may not be able to have an in-person consultation for any reason. It’s also one of convenience. Calling and booking a consultation to see your doctor in person takes time. Sometimes you have to wait on hold.

Even if that process goes quickly, driving to the doctor’s office and having the meeting in person could be a time-consuming task. Depending on where you live, it could also be a slog having to drive all the way across town just to get to your doctor. Now, Samsung Health users can skip all that and get the same thing done. It’s not stated that a Galaxy device is needed for access, and Samsung Health is available outside of Galaxy devices, so this should be for anyone using Android.

Virtual doctor visits through Samsung Health will begin with a rollout in the US

While Samsung likely plans to expand on this, its partnership with HealthTap will begin with users in the US. Neither Samsung nor HealthTap mentions a timeframe for the expansion of this offering outside of the US. Additionally, there’s no mention of what regions may see this kind of thing next. That being said, something like this also probably has to go through regulatory approvals. So, availability outside the US probably depends on each region’s regulations.

According to the announcement, users will be able to open up the Samsung Health app, view the virtual visit options, and select one that meets their needs. From there, they will need to complete a short intake before they can connect for a video consultation. All of this happens within minutes, however, so the process appears to be fairly quick.

It’s also stated that users can read the notes and follow-up instructions from the consultation within the app after the virtual visit is over. The one thing to keep in mind is that consultations happen with HealthTap’s network of licensed doctors. Your doctor may not be included in this network.

Samsung Health adds in-app doctor visits for US users

Samsung Health teamed up with HealthTap to offer an in-app feature for doctor visits in the US. This partnership aims to benefit approximately 7 million users in the United States.

Under this partnership, Samsung and HealthTap add access to virtual primary and urgent care directly into the Samsung Health app. It’s the first time HealthTap’s first in-app experience is expanded to a third-party platform.

As a result, Samsung Health users in the US can book, conduct, and follow up on virtual care consultations. It essentially ends the need for leaving the Samsung Health app for doctor visits, but the feature is limited to US users.

How HealthTap works within Samsung Health:

Through an embedded interface, Samsung Health users will be able to select a virtual visit option, complete a short intake, and connect to a HealthTap doctor for a video consultation within minutes.

Once done, patients can review the clinician’s notes and follow-up instructions within the app. The entire process is designed to be seamless, requiring no app switching or additional downloads.

Thanks to Samsung Health’s integration of the virtual doctor visits feature, users can connect with a physician in the same place they record their daily steps, monitor sleep, or track vital signs and medication schedules.

Now, the wealth of medical, health, and fitness data captured by Samsung’s phones and watches and the Galaxy Ring can finally be discussed in real time at the point of care by a patient with their own primary care doctor.

This Health app upgrade is pretty much beneficial. When this data informs the clinical conversation, it enables more personalized diagnoses, more accurate treatment decisions, and ultimately, better outcomes for patients.

Dr. Ricky Choi, US Head of Digital Health, Samsung Electronics America, says:

“By making available telehealth services into the Samsung Health experience, we are making care actionable, enabling users to move from wellness to clinical care and back in a trusted environment.”

Samsung Health bug making workouts annoying? Fix it instantly!

25 October 2025 at 23:37

Many Galaxy users enjoy using the Samsung Health app together with their Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watch to track workouts, listen to music, and stay active. However, some users with phones running One UI 7 (Android 15) have noticed a small issue.

When some Galaxy users start a workout using the Samsung Health app, the exercise guide voice plays at the same volume as their music. This can make the workout experience uncomfortable, as users can’t control the guide and music volume separately.

The problem happens when the Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watch are both connected to a phone running One UI 7. During workouts, it can be frustrating when you want to keep your music high but prefer softer guide notifications.

Fortunately, Samsung has acknowledged the issue and suggested a few easy steps to fix or reduce the issue. You can do this by checking the app permissions, restarting the app, and updating your phone.

Galaxy Watch Walkie-Talkie app

To fix the problem, long-press the Samsung Health app icon and tap the App info button. Go to Alarms and Reminders and make sure Allow Permissions is turned on. If the app’s Battery setting is set to No limit, you may not see this option. Then, return to the app info screen and tap Force stop. Finally, open the Samsung Health app again to restart it.

If the issue continues, try updating your phone to One UI 8 (Android 16), as newer updates often include performance and sound improvements. Go to Settings >> Software update >> Download and install.

After following these steps, your Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watch, and Samsung Health app should work more smoothly. These solutions give you a better workout experience with balanced sound and clearer audio guidance.
