Samsung Wallet Transportation Service expands with new card options

12 December 2025 at 18:59

Samsung has made it even easier for Galaxy phone users with its new feature in Samsung Wallet. The company has added a Climate Companion Card, which is a digital pass that lets users take public transport as much as they want for a set period, after paying a one-time fee.

Back in 2024, the Seoul Metropolitan Government introduced the Climate Companion Card to promote the use of public transportation and improve the overall transport system. With Samsung Wallet, users can now manage their cards on their phones without a physical card.

Samsung Wallet also now supports other popular transportation cards like T-money and Eazle. If you have a phone with an eSIM, you can still use these cards, which makes the service available to even more users.

In addition to the new Climate Companion Card, Samsung Wallet also includes the K-Pass program. This gives users a refund if they use public transport more than 15 times a month. With these new features, Samsung Wallet aims to offer more flexibility and convenience.

Samsung Wallet adds Porsche Digital Key for easy car access

9 December 2025 at 20:04

Samsung Wallet now makes it easy to use your Galaxy phone as a digital key for select Porsche vehicles. This feature is available for the new Porsche Macan (MY26) and will be extended to the Porsche Cayenne Electric next year. With the Samsung Wallet feature, you no longer need to carry a physical key to access your car.

The Samsung Wallet app now lets you store everything in one place, including car keys, payment cards, and IDs. With a simple swipe-up gesture, you can access your car key along with all your other important items. This makes managing your car and other essentials much easier and quicker.

The new Digital Key is designed with top-notch security. Porsche’s Digital Key uses advanced security features (EAL6+ certification) to keep your car key safe on your phone. You can also share your key with trusted people.

To further protect your car, the Digital Key uses technologies like Ultra-Wideband (UWB) and Near Field Communication (NFC). These make sure no one can get into your car without permission.

You can easily set up the Digital Key by following a few easy steps. Simply download the My Porsche app, link your car, and follow the steps to add the key to Samsung Wallet. This feature is now available in Europe, and a global rollout will follow as new Porsche models are released.

Notably, the Digital Key Wallet feature of Samsung Wallet works with many Samsung Galaxy phones, including the Galaxy S20, S21, S22, S23, and newer models, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip series.

The latest update now allows users to add Yes Bank debit cards to the app. This comes after Samsung added support for AU Small Finance Bank cards last month. Adding your Yes Bank card to Samsung Wallet is easy. Once the card is added, you can pay at stores using your Galaxy phone. To make a payment, open the Samsung Wallet app, choose the card you want to use, and tap your phone on the payment machine.

When the Samsung Wallet app was checked on a Galaxy S25 in India, the ‘What’s New’ section under the Promotions tab displayed a notification about the addition of Yes Bank card support, which indicates that users now have more options for mobile payments.
