One UI 9 (Android 17) could add Motion Assist feature to Galaxy phones

14 December 2025 at 00:18

Samsung Galaxy users may soon get a helpful new feature, Motion Assist, with One UI 9. One UI 9 will be based on Android 17, and Google is reportedly working on this feature to make using phones in moving vehicles easier and more comfortable.

Several people feel dizzy or get headaches while travelling in cars, buses, or trains and using a phone. Motion sickness occurs because your eyes perceive a still screen while your body senses movement.

To resolve this issue, Google is developing a Motion Assist feature, which displays small dots on the screen that move in sync with the vehicle’s motion. These dots use the phone’s motion sensors to match to reduce motion sickness.

The feature has been spotted by Assemble Debug, who found that Motion Assist, also called Motion Cues, already exists inside Google Play Services but is not yet active. Currently, this feature cannot appear over the lock screen, notifications, or Quick Settings due to Android’s overlay limits.

Android 17 update might make these appear dots safely on all parts of the screen. Google might make it a part of the system rather than a separate app. It could also work with Transiting mode, which changes phone settings automatically while commuting.

Based on Android 17, Samsung’s One UI 9 is also expected to bring the Motion Assist feature to Galaxy devices. Stay tuned for more information.

One UI 8.5 under testing for these Samsung phones

By:Yash
13 December 2025 at 16:15

Samsung is testing One UI 8.5 Alpha and Beta for various phones. On December 8, Samsung officially launched the Public Beta Program for the Galaxy S25 series, ahead of the official update rollout is likely to start in 2Q25.

One UI 8.5 testing isn’t just underway but also expanding its scope to even more Samsung phones. The company has already joined a number of Galaxy devices to the internal testing, regardless of the plans for the Beta rollout.

The testing is still underway, and we will see more changes and tweaks throughout the Program. Samsung may also invite even more devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 as well as the S24 series, to test the software.

Devices in Public Beta

The Public Beta testing is currently limited to the Galaxy S25 series. However, the S25 Edge and S25 FE are not eligible for the Beta Program.

  • Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra

Devices in Internet ‘Alpha’

While Public Beta has very limited availability, the internal testing has been expanded to plenty of newer and older Samsung phones.

  • Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7
  • Galaxy S25 Edge
  • Galaxy S24, S24 Plus and S24 Ultra
  • Galaxy S24 FE
  • Galaxy S23, S23 Plus and S23 Ultra
  • Galaxy A17
  • Galaxy A36
  • Galaxy A56

Apart from this, Samsung is also working on One UI 8.5 firmware for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, A37, and A57 smartphones.

The list of devices is expected to grow.

Samsung One UI 8.5 fills PIN screen with dynamic colors

By:Yash
13 December 2025 at 08:13

Samsung One UI 8.5 expands the application of dynamic colors to the lock screen PIN interface. This beautiful visual remamp has arrived with the first Beta update that Samsung distributed on December 8th.

Lock screen PIN interface now features dynamic colors in One UI 8.5, via SMASithick. The numeric keypad that appears for the entry of PIN now displays colorful buttons. The colors aren’t just random but derived from wallpaper.

Based on the lock screen wallpaper, the PIN screen keypad adopts gradient colors. The blur is still there to separate the keys from the background. The new color engine also covers the Emergency call button at the bottom.

The new design language is a major improvement over the blurred buttons in One UI 8. Samsung has turned the solid colored keys into dynamic ones. It offers a clean and visually pleasing appearance to the lock screen.

It’s just an initial version that can’t be considered final. Samsung might make tweaks to further refine the new design. The changes will be applied keeping in mind they shouldn’t consume a significant portion of the battery.

It’s just an example; Samsung has made tons of related changes across the UI. One UI 8.5 feels like a major design upgrade over One UI 8. It adopts Glass UI, a floating navigation bar, redesigned apps, and colorful backgrounds.

Galaxy S25 users can get it early, as the official rollout is expected in Q2 2026. Samsung launched the Beta Program in four countries (Germany, Korea, the UK, and the US), with India and Poland joining later this month.

[Leak] Lots of One UI 8.5 features are reserved for Galaxy S26

By:Yash
13 December 2025 at 06:37

Samsung has officially revealed One UI 8.5 in Beta, but it appears that many features and AI tools are reserved for the Galaxy S26 series.

On December 8, the One UI 8.5 Beta Program was officially launched, and the Stable update is set to be available in the first half of 2026. The software’s final version would pack plenty of more features and AI upgrades.

Leaker @chunvn8888 has just shed light on the fact that the current stage of One UI 8.5 lacks lots of features. Many tricks are not currently available, and Samsung may have planned to reserve them for the Galaxy S26 series.

The tipster specifically highlighted the AI-powered notification summary feature. It should have arrived with One UI 7 last year, but plans were changed.

The feature will summarize notifications for up to the last 24 hours. Samsung’s Gauss AI model reportedly powers the AI notification summary. It would function on-device to give consumers peace of mind on their data and notification privacy.

Samsung Gauss AI Model

Supported languages at launch could include English, Korean, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Polish, simplified Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, Vietnamese, and Thai.

It will now be available in the official version with the new phones. Also, Samsung has not finalized whether the AI summarize feature will be provided to the Galaxy S25 series.

It’s just one example; there are reportedly many.

Looking back at Samsung’s strategy, the latest input makes sense. Major features and big AI tools would initially be limited to the latest flagships. It will be nothing but an attempt to present newer models superior to older ones.

Samsung Wallet Transportation Service expands with new card options

12 December 2025 at 18:59

Samsung has made it even easier for Galaxy phone users with its new feature in Samsung Wallet. The company has added a Climate Companion Card, which is a digital pass that lets users take public transport as much as they want for a set period, after paying a one-time fee.

Back in 2024, the Seoul Metropolitan Government introduced the Climate Companion Card to promote the use of public transportation and improve the overall transport system. With Samsung Wallet, users can now manage their cards on their phones without a physical card.

Samsung Wallet also now supports other popular transportation cards like T-money and Eazle. If you have a phone with an eSIM, you can still use these cards, which makes the service available to even more users.

Samsung Wallet New Card

Aside from this, Samsung is also offering the same service on Galaxy Watches. By installing the Samsung Wallet Transportation Card app on your watch, you can use public transport without needing your phone at all.

In addition to the new Climate Companion Card, Samsung Wallet also includes the K-Pass program. This gives users a refund if they use public transport more than 15 times a month. With these new features, Samsung Wallet aims to offer more flexibility and convenience.

First look at One UI 8.5 on Galaxy S23 Ultra: What’s new and what’s missing

By:Yash
12 December 2025 at 14:29

Samsung has started working on One UI 8.5 for Galaxy S23 Ultra, which was confirmed through the software server’s listing. The update will bring plenty of new features to the device, and the first hands-on video has just arrived.

Folks over at SamMobile gained access to internal One UI 8.5 and installed the firmware on their Galaxy S23 Ultra. The outlet has come up with a video, revealing the first-ever hands-on look at the device with future software.

The video highlights several new features and some anticipated ones that are not included.

New features

Galaxy S23 series will gain access to various new features as part of the One UI 8.5 update. The software carries a customizable Quick Panel, stock apps with modern design, and a recreated Settings menu.

Samsung has enhanced the appearance of key aspects, including DeX and Camera. Camera Assistant’s “save to external storage” feature has been moved to camera settings. The Pro (Photo) and Pro Video modes bring a clean interface.

Interestingly, Single Take is supported, which dropped in the first public Beta build.

One UI 8.5 also brings a redesigned menu with a cleaner look. The UI no longer has subheadings, and the search icon has been relocated to the bottom. The updated Battery and Device Care page is also present on the S23 Ultra.

Samsung offers the new Photo Assist with a history function, letting users revert to previous edits. Since the build is unfinished, tools like editing with text prompts and image clips, and a Call Assistant feature aren’t working.

Missing features

Samsung has yet to deliver some key features to the Galaxy S23 series through One UI 8.5, such as Log Video in Camera, Health Assist, and Now Brief in Galaxy AI, Audio Eraser in Gallery, and AI-powered Weather features.

Samsung Dynamic wallpaper not working? Here’s the latest One UI 8 fix

12 December 2025 at 01:45

Some Samsung Galaxy users on One UI 8 have run into a problem with the Dynamic Wallpaper feature. This option is meant to change the wallpaper’s color throughout the day depending on the time, but for many users, it keeps switching back to the default wallpaper on its own.

According to the reports, when users set the Dynamic wallpaper on their Samsung Galaxy devices running One UI 8, the wallpaper is supposed to adjust its colors as per the time of day. But the bug causes wallpapers to revert to the default one, rather than changing to the colors as expected. This is quite frustrating.

Fortunately, Samsung has confirmed that the company is aware of this One UI 8 issue, and it affects the Dynamic Wallpaper feature. The company also mentioned that an update has been released to fix this issue. After that, the wallpaper will stay as you set it, and the color changes will occur correctly throughout the day.

To fix this issue, you have to update the Samsung Wallpaper app. This update will improve the Dynamic Wallpaper function to work properly. For that, you just need to open the Galaxy Store app >> go to the Menu option >> click on Updates >> and find the Samsung Wallpaper app and update it.

Once the app is updated, your wallpaper will no longer reset, and the color changes will work smoothly. So if you are facing the same issue, install the update now.

One UI 8.5 Beta update is currently available for the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, but in limited countries. This update lets users try out a new feature ahead of the official release. One UI 8.5 Beta enhances Now Bar with useful tweaks

12 December 2025 at 00:30

Samsung’s One UI 8.5 beta is here, and it brings several cool updates and new features that make using your Galaxy phone even easier. Two of the Now Bar enhancements of One UI 8.5 are the improved flashlight feature and the new look for YouTube recommendations in the Now Brief widget.

The latest major update arrives with changes for the flashlight. In the past, the flashlight was hidden in the quick settings, and sometimes it was easy to forget it was on. Now, with One UI 8.5, a “torch on” icon appears right in the Now Bar at the top of your screen.

This new change means you’ll always know when the flashlight is active. Also, a “Torch on” card shows up in the Now Brief widget, which makes it simple to turn the flashlight off instantly without searching through settings.

Moreover, the update also enhances the YouTube recommendations in the Now Brief widget. Previously, YouTube videos were shown in a small vertical list that looked small. In the new update, Samsung has switched to a horizontal carousel layout.

Samsung is currently working on One UI 8.5 based on Android 16, and it will reportedly bring more AI features to Galaxy smartphones. Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 jump to Samsung’s One UI 8.5 testing

By:Yash
11 December 2025 at 11:33

Samsung has now extended its One UI 8.5 testing to the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6. The company has started internal testing of the major software update. Samsung didn’t share its plan for opening Beta for more devices.

Recently, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 were spotted running One UI 8.5. These were not general models, but the company’s test devices. The first build is identified through a version ending with DYLB.

The last three letters will change throughout the testing process. If Samsung considers the Beta Program, we may see Z replacing D as the fourth last letter. The Galaxy S23’s update has also recently joined the internal testing phase.

One UI 8.5 is the following version of the One UI 8.0 based on Android 16. Based on the foundation of One UI 8, the new One UI 8.5 brings significant improvements, with changes spanning across the user interface, apps, and features.

Samsung has also enhanced customization across the software system. Quick Panel personalization is now completely in your hands. Various app icons have also adopted a depth effect to replace the existing flat design language.

One UI 8.5 Beta is currently available for the Galaxy S25 series. It will officially roll out with the Galaxy S26 series early next year. Samsung pledged to sequentially distribute the new features and changes in the first half of 2026.

If you want the One UI 8.5 early, owning a Galaxy S25 series device is the only option. You may still need some additional efforts if you don’t reside in Samsung’s favorite countries that qualify for the Beta testing opportunity.

Samsung Galaxy S23 begins One UI 8.5 groundwork

By:Yash
11 December 2025 at 06:49

Samsung begins behind-the-scenes work on One UI 8.5 for Galaxy S23 phones. The new software’s internal testing has just begun for the 2023 flagships. This move comes after a handful of Galaxy A phones have entered the arena.

Galaxy S23 series is eligible for the One UI 8.5 update, but the Beta Program is uncertain. Samsung might keep the users waiting until the second quarter of next year and directly provide a Stable build, skipping the Beta Program.

The first internal build carries FYLB, where F refers to the major One UI version. It replaces the existing E, which was bumped with One UI 8.0. If a build with the Z character appears, Beta testing will begin shortly after, but it’s less likely.

Software versions (As spotted by tipster Akhilesh Kumar):

  • Galaxy S23 – S911BXXU8FYLB
  • Galaxy S23 Plus – S916BXXU8FYLB
  • Galaxy S23 Ultra – S918BXXU8FYLB

What’s new?

Samsung’s One UI 8.5 is based on One UI 8 (Android 16). It’s a mid-cycle version, but the changes are literally huge. The company highlights upgraded Photo Assist, Storage Share, and Audio Broadcast as the key features.

You get a heavily customizable Quick Panel that feels like Android 16 Expressive. Various apps and services have adopted an elegant blur design. Navigation bar and back-swipe gestures have also become more dynamic.

When to expect?

Samsung will roll out the One UI 8.5 update in the first half of next year. The release will start once the software debuts with the Galaxy S26 in 2026. You can expect the update in the second quarter, between April to June.

One UI 8.5 Beta is also underway for the users of the Galaxy S25 series. The Program is currently limited to four countries, with two more joining later this month. Samsung could keep Beta limited to just the S25 lineup.

One UI 9 (Android 17) might bring long-awaited App Lock feature globally

11 December 2025 at 01:55

Samsung is currently preparing an Android 16-based One UI 8.5 for Galaxy devices. Meanwhile, we have some information that One UI 9 might bring the long-awaited App Lock feature to Samsung Galaxy users globally. This feature will let people lock their apps using a PIN, password, fingerprint, or face unlock, keeping private apps safe.

Earlier reports suggest that Samsung will add a native App Lock feature with One UI 8.5, but it will only be available in China. One UI 8.5 will also introduce a new Smart Manager with several AI features and security tools for Chinese users. App Lock will allow users to secure apps without relying on third-party apps.

Now, new information reveals that Google is working on a native App Lock feature for Android 17. This will allow users to lock apps directly from the system without using Private Space or third-party apps. Some code for this feature has already been spotted in a test version of Android 17.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Apps

Source – Sammyfans

At the moment, Android doesn’t offer a simple way to lock apps. Private Space exists, but it’s not very convenient. Apps in Private Space can’t appear on the home screen and require extra steps to open. They also run separately from the main profile.

Many phone makers created their own App Lock solutions, but still, some users often rely on third-party apps. But these apps can be unsafe or easily removed. Google’s new App Lock will make the feature official and secure.

If One UI 8.5 brings the App Lock feature to Galaxy devices in China, it is expected that this new feature might expand globally with Android 17-based One UI 9. Stay tuned for more information.

Samsung Health will soon remove some fitness programs

11 December 2025 at 00:40

Samsung Health will soon get an update, and with that update, some older features will reportedly be removed. The company has shared a notice with users to explain these changes. While new tools are coming, a few fitness programs will no longer be available in the app.

The notice mentions to users that certain Fitness Program services will be discontinued. Workout programs that were downloaded in the Fitness Program section are going away. Samsung also says that any programs added before December 31, 2022, will be removed from the app after the update.

Even though some features are being removed, Samsung will keep real-time streaming workouts. These are videos you can watch instantly and follow along with, and Samsung says they will stay in the app. This suggests the company is aiming for fresh, updated content instead of older programs.

Samsung DeX may get smarter with Circle to Search in One UI 8.5

10 December 2025 at 19:11

Google’s Circle to Search is one of the most helpful AI features on Android phones and tablets. It lets you look up information about anything on your screen by simply long-pressing the home button or navigation bar. However, people using Samsung DeX have not been able to use this feature, but One UI 8.5 might change that.

Recently, Google released Android 16 QPR2, which includes several new improvements. It brings changes to Circle to Search, and it now works in Android’s Desktop Mode. This mode appears when your phone is connected to an external monitor or TV.

According to the latest information via Android Authority, you can start Circle to Search by long-pressing the app drawer button while in Desktop Mode. This means users can now quickly search for information even when using their phone like a computer.

One UI 8 External Display feature

With One UI 8.0, Samsung’s newer version of DeX introduced, which is also built on Android’s updated Desktop Mode. Because of this, there is a chance that Circle to Search will soon be available on Samsung DeX, probably with One UI 8.5.

However, the feature is not working just yet. When tested on a Galaxy S25 Ultra running the first One UI 8.5 beta, Circle to Search still didn’t appear in DeX. Long-pressing the home button showed a message saying it can’t be opened on a connected display. But long-pressing the app drawer button also did nothing.

This likely means Samsung hasn’t added the feature to the current beta version, or the Google Search app needs an update to enable it. But early leaks suggest that Circle to Search will arrive in Samsung DeX in a future One UI 8.5 update

Surprise phone joins Samsung’s One UI 8.5 Alpha test program

By:Yash
10 December 2025 at 11:01

One UI 8.5 is now available in Beta, and a recent behind-the-scenes development suggests Samsung expanded the internal test scope to an unexpected device.

It’s December, and the official One UI 8.5 will be released in February or March next year. The software is available for the owners of the Galaxy S25 series, while internal development and testing are underway for a few more models.

As spotted by tipster AkhileshKumar, Samsung has kick-started One UI 8.5 development for the Galaxy A17 5G. The first internal firmware has just appeared on the company’s server, targeting the European version with EUX CSC.

Galaxy A17 5G runs One UI 8 build that ends with BYJ1. The new One UI 8.5 test build that just surfaced online carries CYL3. The shift to the major One UI version from “B” to “C” reveals it’s the upcoming One UI 8.5 update.

The internal build was first spotted for the Galaxy S25 series. Later, the company expanded internal testing to the recent foldable phones. A few days ago, the Galaxy S24 series also entered the One UI 8.5 internal development.

Galaxy A17 5G’s testing has started earlier than Samsung’s flagship phones. Early commencement of firmware development signals Galaxy phones may not take much time to receive their major upgrade after official release.

Recently, Samsung talked about its plans for the One UI 8.5 reveal and release. The new software is officially coming with the Galaxy S26 series next year, and the first sale will mark the day of the software’s release.

Samsung says One UI 8.5 will be provided to existing Galaxy devices through updates sequentially. Since the official release is slated for February or March, the update’s expansion should happen in Q3 (April-June) 2026.

Samsung tweaks Always On Display with Now Bar improvements

By:Yash
10 December 2025 at 09:28

Samsung is improving its Always On Display feature with a Now Bar fix. The development comes days after the One UI 8.5 Beta kicked off. Samsung is rolling out a Now Bar fix to its Always On Display app with a new update.

Always On Display is a widely used feature on Android and Apple devices. It requires the device to have an OLED screen. Leveraging the technical characteristics, the feature offers battery-efficient information at a glance.

With the latest update, Samsung has improved the AoD function. The release applies a “Now Bar Memory” fix to enhance performance. The experience-ruining glitch will no longer cause you a headache with Samsung AoD.

Samsung phones allow Now Bar to appear in Always On Display mode. It’s a power-saving way to stay updated with real-time info through Now Bar. The pill restricts its visuals and limits the view to just the necessary components.

You may like:

Open Galaxy Store > Menu and hit the Updates menu. A new page will open, and you will have a list of apps that can be updated. Tap on the “update” icon, aligned next to the app’s icon and label, to install the latest version.

The rollout has just started, and the scope of this update seems limited. Devices running One UI 8.5 Beta are apparently the only qualifying candidates. Samsung will hopefully offer necessary improvements to One UI 8 devices as well.

Samsung Health bringing new noise tracking feature for hearing safety

10 December 2025 at 01:28

Samsung Health has added a new feature to help protect your hearing in the latest update. This new feature is called the “Noise” card, and it will appear on the home screen of the Samsung Health app.

Spotted by Assemble Debug in version 6.31.2.003 of the Samsung Health app, the Noise card will track the level of noise you’ve been exposed to throughout the day. It helps you see if you’ve been in loud environments that could harm your hearing over time.

Whether it’s the noise from traffic, music, or crowded places, the app will give you a quick look at how loud the noise is you’ve encountered. For more control, Samsung Health is also adding an Advanced Measurement mode who want more control.

The Advanced Measurement mode feature will allow you to set specific noise limits. If the noise level goes above your preferred limit, the app will send you a warning. This can apply to both background noise and sounds from apps.

Samsung Health is also bringing a new history screen that will show you how often you get noise alerts. You’ll be able to view your noise exposure on a weekly, monthly, or yearly basis to keep track of when you’re most exposed to loud sounds.

One UI 8.5 development expands to Galaxy A series

9 December 2025 at 18:55

Samsung Galaxy A56 is the latest Galaxy A-series phone and is one of the best-selling phones globally in the third quarter of 2025. Now, Samsung has also started preparing an Android 16-based One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy A56 internally.

A reliable tipster, @Alfaturk, has spotted a One UI 8.5 testing build for the Galaxy A56 on Samsung’s testing platform. The build number A566BXXU7CYL8 confirms that Samsung has begun working on One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy A56.

This early version shows that the company is actively working to prepare the major software update for A-series devices, along with its flagships. This update will bring several improvements and new features to the phone.

Samsung has already begun rolling out the One UI 8.5 Beta update for some Galaxy phones. Right now, it’s only available for the Galaxy S25 series in a few countries, but Samsung plans to expand it to more phones and countries soon.

If Samsung follows the earlier pattern of One UI beta rollouts, it might also expand the beta update to the latest Galaxy A-series devices, similar to the One UI 8 Beta Program. This means that the Samsung Galaxy A56 might also receive the One UI 8.5 Beta update to try out new features ahead of the official release. However, Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything yet.

It is worth noting that the Samsung One UI 8.5 update brings several new features and improvements to provide a better Galaxy experience. Some of these include smoother Galaxy AI image generation, improved device connectivity, smarter Quick Share, enhanced lock screen and weather tools, richer Samsung Health insights, and more.

One UI 8.5 Beta 1 reduced Samsung Camera features

By:Yash
9 December 2025 at 14:14

Samsung fans have joined the One UI 8.5 Beta to experience the brand-new software. Some are waiting till the second Beta arrives with more stability. The first One UI 8.5 Beta update lacks two crucial camera modes.

Two camera modes, namely Dual Recording and Single Take, are missing in One UI 8.5 Beta. Samsung may restore these modes in the future Beta builds, as the latest software has some structural changes inside.

While expanding the Camera tools page via “More,” One UI 8.5 Beta doesn’t display Dual Recording and Single Take. The former is a feature beloved by vloggers and content creators, while the latter is an evergreen solution.

It remains to be seen if Samsung brings back the two-camera modes. The choices could be restored, or else the company might have been considering something else to add to the stock camera app and retain the functionalities.

If you are a frequent user of these features, One UI 8.5 Beta might be a bit disappointing. Go ahead with this Beta if you can settle for the lack of these modes. Waiting for future builds with restoration is the only way, otherwise.

One UI 8.5 Beta has just begun for the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra. The Phase 1 countries include Germany, South Korea, the UK, and the US. In Phase 2, the Beta Program would expand to India and Poland.

Here’s when One UI 8.5 could release in India

By:Yash
9 December 2025 at 06:48

Samsung officially launched the One UI 8.5 Beta Program on December 8. Starting in South Korea, Beta signups were sequentially opened in Germany, the UK, and the US. The One UI 8.5 release in India is still pending, as the country has missed the Phase 1 rollout.

One UI 8.5 Beta

Samsung’s One UI 8.5 is based on One UI 8 (Android 16). It features improved AI functions and sharing tools. The software also brings a fresh design across the entire user interface, along with redesigned apps.

One UI 8.5 will officially release with the Galaxy S26 series in 2026. Samsung has opened a public Beta Program to let users test the new software and help the company shape a reliable user experience for the new phones.

Following the Beta enrollment, Samsung delivered the Beta 1 update via OTA. Users have installed the ZYL8 build on their Galaxy S25 phones. The expansion will likely widen later this month and cover the remaining two markets.

Beta 2 and Phase 2 connection

Historically, India and Poland are the two countries that start One UI Beta when Samsung provides Beta 2 to the Phase 1 participants. Users in these markets will directly receive the build that the company will roll out as Beta 2.

That said, guessing the One UI 8.5 Beta release in India and Poland isn’t that tough. However, a confirmed release date can’t be picked as Samsung’s plans are unknown.

Simply put, Indian users will get One UI 8.5 Beta when existing Beta participants receive Beta 2 update.

So, when is Beta 2 expected?

One UI 8.5 release date for India

A Samsung enthusiast, who was accurate in guessing the One UI 8.5 Beta launch date, predicts that the Beta 2 rollout could open on December 22. If it turns out to be true, the wait for Indian users will finally come to an end.

One UI 8.5 Beta is expected to be released in India on December 22, 2025.

One UI 8.5 beta announced for India but users are waiting

9 December 2025 at 04:57

Samsung has released One UI 8.5 beta and officially begun a new software testing journey that will end with the release of the Galaxy S26 series in 2026. Meanwhile, users once again noticed that the program has yet to launch in India.

According to Samsung, the One UI 8.5 beta program is available in Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the U.S. starting December 8. However, it has been verified that the program currently excludes India and Poland from this announced queue. For now, Samsung is enrolling the Galaxy S25 series as the first devices in the One UI 8.5 beta testing pool, but the list may grow to older flagships in the near future.

Here are the two perspectives of this announcement that you need to follow. Samsung has mentioned that the beta program in these countries will open “from” December 8. It means the nominated markets won’t receive the update altogether; instead, it will be a progressive release. Second, this is not new to Samsung’s software testing strategy.

For example, the One UI 7 beta began testing on December 5, 2024, for the US, UK, Germany, and Korea. However, India and Poland received the update on December 16. So, Indian users received the first beta while users in the rest of the countries advanced to the second.

This practice was also evident during One UI 8 beta; the program launched on May 28 in initial markets and expanded to India on June 12.

One UI 8.5 beta India

Users, including me, confirmed that the One UI 8.5 beta program is not yet live in India, which is a bummer.

One UI beta program unavailable

However, we can expect a similar, if not a late, beta rollout as the previous software updates. Since Samsung is maintaining rollout differences across markets, we can expect the program opening somewhere next week. Still, it would not be surprising if this unjust practice ends sooner.

We’ll keep you posted on this beta software release. For more information, please check our One UI 8.5 archive.

How to download and install?

Enrollment would take a couple of minutes as you complete the process. Wait for a few moments to receive the update notification through the notification panel.

Samsung Galaxy S25’s One UI 8.5 Beta forum goes live!

By:Yash
8 December 2025 at 13:35

The One UI 8.5 Beta forum has just gone public in South Korea. Samsung has officially listed the Galaxy S25 series under its One UI Beta bulletin board. It was a much-anticipated development before the Program went live.

Samsung Community in Korea now has a One UI 8.5 Beta forum for Galaxy S25 users. It will stay online throughout the Beta testing activity. Participants will be able to register their complaints and raise feature requests.

Beta forum, spotted by Alfaturk, works as a bridge between end users and software developers. Community moderators closely look at user posts during the Beta. Feature suggestions and bug reports are forwarded to the development team.

Galaxy S25 series is currently the only contender for the Beta Program. Samsung has been testing One UI 8.5 for Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and S24 series, too. However, public Beta builds have just surfaced for the S25 lineup.

Now all eyes are on Samsung’s One UI team, who control the Beta testing. Owners of the Galaxy S25 series are eagerly waiting to jump to the new OS. It’s going to be bigger than the One UI 8’s Beta given its wide scale changes.

Samsung Auracast feature is now ‘Audio Broadcast’

By:Yash
8 December 2025 at 07:56

Samsung has quietly rebranded its Auracast feature to Audio broadcast. With its new identity, the function has seized a clearer future. The rebranding has happened in One UI 8.5, Samsung’s next iteration on Android 16.

Galaxy Buds app now has the Audio broadcast feature in place of Samsung Auracast, via NingSP. This subtle change in identity is stapled with a visual treat, too. The interface looks so clean, featuring a cosmic design with an elegant gradient.

Auracast is becoming an Audio broadcast, but the core standard is unchanged. The feature’s description traces its roots to Auracast. The rename is just Samsung’s way to differentiate Auracast on Galaxy from other Androids.

One UI 8.5’s Audio broadcast feature allows you to broadcast sounds like music and voice from your phone to nearby devices. It’s literally a magical feature with no limitation on connections to share your phone’s sound.

It just requires devices to stay within the range of the signal. Devices compatible with Auracast within the main phone’s signal range operate uninterruptedly. It’s a great tool for group enjoyment by sharing immersive audio.

The redesign also includes a floating navigation menu for the application. The Audio broadcast page has two options, namely Share and Listen. Use them as per your requirement, be on Share if you’re sharing, or switch to Listen to join.

One UI 8.5 Beta is expected to launch today. Even if it misses today’s launch, which is highly anticipated, it would appear this week. Samsung fans are eagerly waiting to welcome the new software with great offerings.

One UI 8.5 leak confirms two more new features

By:Yash
6 December 2025 at 09:48

Samsung fans have already received the One UI 8.0 update with plenty of improvements. Now, Samsung’s One UI 8.5 has grabbed all the headlines, and a new leak sheds light on two more new features slated to launch soon.

Enthusiast ThatJoshGuy revealed two new features that appeared in the new Tips app on One UI 8.5. These are the officially highlighted features that will be promoted through the official Tips app on compatible Samsung phones.

Samsung has crafted Direct voicemail and Private album. The former is inspired by Apple’s iOS, while the latter is hidden inside One UI 8.

Direct voicemail

One UI 8.5 will let you set Direct voicemail for callers. When enabled, it will let callers record a voicemail as they call. It’s a feature already available on Apple iPhones that works for callers having Android phones too.

When you receive a call, the caller will be prompted to record a voicemail. It will happen after a certain time duration or early if manually set. If the caller drops a voicemail, you receive the message in text form.

The official description is as follows:

Let callers record a message when you can’t answer and see what they say in real-time on the screen. You can start Direct voicemail manually when you receive a call or set calls to automatically go to voicemail after a certain amount of time.

Private album

Samsung Gallery already has Private Album feature on One UI 8. However, you need to manually enable it from Gallery Labs. One UI 8.5 will end the need for this manual activation and bring it to the Gallery app.

Private album is a dedicated space where you can store your personal photos and videos. The folder will be available in the Gallery app’s menu. You can access the folder’s contents after authenticating through biometrics.

One UI 8.5 Beta may release for select Samsung phones

By:Yash
6 December 2025 at 08:25

Samsung is preparing One UI 8.5 Beta, and the release could be minimal. One UI 8 rollout is completed in November, and the entire focus has been shifted to the One UI 8.5 Beta, with the official version coming with the S26 series.

One UI 8.0 was released with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, and Samsung decided to revive x.5 iteration with the Galaxy S series. The flagship lineup was supposed to arrive with One UI 8.1 before the One UI 8.5 rumors surfaced.

Later, it was rumored that the One UI 8.5 will go through a Beta Program before its Stable release in 2026. It was originally planned to kick off in late November, but new rumors signal its arrival on December 8, 2025.

One UI 8 Beta was available for a wide range of Samsung devices; however, the One UI 8.5 Beta is unlikely to stay the same. The mid-cycle version’s Beta Program may be released for just the Galaxy S25 series in six or seven countries.

One UI 8.5 Beta may be limited to:

  1. Galaxy S25
  2. Galaxy S25 Plus
  3. Galaxy S25 Ultra

Beta builds have already started to appear on the software server. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy S24 have also started internal testing. These flagship devices may directly receive the Stable update in the second quarter of next year.

One UI 8.5

Like One UI 8.0, the upcoming One UI 8.5 is also based on Android 16. Google has recently released Android 16 QPR2 update for Pixel phones. The company has termed it as a Minor SDK drop, promised earlier this year.

Build versions suggest Samsung has crafted the One UI 8.5 on the most updated version of Android 16. It will benefit Galaxy users with core Android upgrades and features that Google provided to its Pixel smartphone users.

The new software also debuts a brand-new user interface. One UI 8.5 is packed with a Glass UI-inspired blur application. Various apps and system popups have adopted this new design language to reinvent the Galaxy UX.

You can move some toggles outside the main panel, and all options are grouped into categories, similar to the iPhone’s Control Center. This makes adjusting settings faster and easier.

Samsung Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra designs spotted in One UI 8.5

5 December 2025 at 18:37

Samsung has accidentally revealed the designs of its new Galaxy S26 series. The leak comes from the company’s own One UI 8.5 software. The images show the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

One UI 8.5 build software shows three device codenames – M1, M2, and M3. Reports say M1 and M2 are the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus, while M3 is the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This matches previous leaks from trusted sources.

The Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus have a triple-camera setup placed vertically inside a small camera island. The design of the phone is simple and clean, which is similar to recent Samsung phones. It also matches earlier renders shared by popular leaker OnLeaks.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra renders Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra renders

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra shows a larger camera island with three main cameras in a vertical line and two extra sensors beside them. This confirms earlier leaks and shows that Samsung is keeping the familiar Ultra look.

Moreover, the One UI 8.5 software hints at faster charging features. There are mentions of Super Fast Wireless Charging and Super Fast Charging 3.0. This suggests both wired and wireless charging might be faster in the new phones.

One UI 8.5 code hints at new smart summary tool for My Files

5 December 2025 at 17:51

Samsung‘s One UI 8.5 is currently under development for Galaxy devices, and it will reportedly arrive with several new and improved features. New information reveals that Samsung is working on a helpful new feature for the My Files app in One UI 8.5 software.

In the early One UI 8.5 firmware, AssembleDebug found new code, which indicates that the My Files app will soon have a feature, Short summary. This new tool makes it easier to check what’s inside your documents.

When the feature is turned on, the app can automatically create quick summaries for PDF and TXT files. These summaries may appear right in the file list, which helps users understand what’s inside each file at a glance.

The leaked strings suggest that Samsung will include a toggle switch, so users can choose whether or not they want file summaries. The app also seems to avoid summarising documents with inappropriate content, which hints at built-in safety checks.

Samsung Apps

Samsung hasn’t mentioned AI directly, but the summarising files usually require some kind of AI processing. It is still unclear whether Samsung will generate these summaries on the device or through the cloud. At this point, we also don’t know if there will be limits on the size of the files that can be summarised.

It is worth noting that this summary feature was not included in the earlier leaked changelog for One UI 8.5. That means Samsung may still be developing or testing it.

Earlier reports suggest that One UI 8.5 beta could start as early as next week, so users might soon find out whether this new feature will show up in the first beta release. Stay tuned for more information.

By:Yash
5 December 2025 at 14:40

Various Samsung apps, including Calendar, Internet, Notes, and Reminder, have adopted an updated design ahead of the One UI 8.5 Beta Program.

These apps join the Samsung Clock and Samsung Calculator apps, which have an integrated, dynamic new user interface. The company is elevating the appearance of its stock apps to deliver a more unified look in One UI 8.5.

The apps originated from Samsung’s One UI 8.5 version, via NirmalSri. The upcoming OS brings fruitful design and UI upgrades to stock apps. The redesign includes a pill-shaped tab and search bars, as well as overlay search and back buttons.

Samsung hasn’t just updated the design inside but also worked on its icons. Some apps have adopted refreshed icons with a depth effect. The on-icon components have added a 3D effect to present a floating appearance.

With One UI 8.5, Samsung would mark an end to the flat design era. Everything would become floating with modern aesthetics. Previously, the UI changes were noticed in system functions, which have now expanded to apps.

Samsung Clock and Calculator have adopted a striking new background. It’s great to see Samsung apps evolving along with One UI. Galaxy users will have a uniform experience with reliable functionality across all aspects.

Samsung is preparing to launch the One UI 8.5 Beta Program. It is expected to be limited to the Galaxy S25 series, with the first sign-up reportedly kicking off Monday. You can read more about the Beta Program in our recent article.

Samsung Clock has fancy new UI in One UI 8.5

By:Yash
5 December 2025 at 08:45

Samsung Clock UI is stunning, but One UI 8.5 makes the existing design totally boring. Samsung has redesigned the stock Clock app, and it’s coming to your Galaxy device.

One UI 8.5 brings a major UI redesign to the Samsung Clock app. The user interface looks pretty fancy in both Light and Dark mode settings. The new design takes over the flat appearance and offers an elegant view.

Samsung Clock has dumped the legacy navigation bar and adopted the floating menu. The label has gone, and you need to rely on icons to switch tabs. The navigation bar appears as a hovering pill at the bottom of the screen.

Alarm

The Alarm window now recommends a card to improve your sleep. The card is bigger than other alarm cards and filled with a gradient. The description reads, “Keep your phone quiet and get a good night’s rest with Sleep mode.”

If you set more than one alarm, the current view shows them as separate cards. However, in the One UI 8.5, various alarms join together and remove the separation. It makes the overall look clean and easy to manage.

World clock

The World Clock page has adopted a background of a world map. You can add multiple clocks from various time zones to stay updated. There’s a toggle to give the cards new layouts to make the page even more appealing.

Stopwatch

Samsung Clock’s Stopwatch page has gained a digital-cum analog clock design. The new design has a circular clock packed with time marks and clock hands. In One UI 8, the Stopwatch page has just a digital numbering scheme.

Timer

The Timer window is also improved with bold design changes. The background has replaced its solid color with a pleasing gradient design. The button to Start has become circular, and time stamps have added a depth effect.

Android 16 sideloading UI gets bold Expressive tweaks

By:Yash
5 December 2025 at 08:08

Sideloading UI on Android 16 has gained subtle new tweaks. With the latest update, Google is finally bringing Material 3 Expressive perks to the Package Installer.

Android 16 now has a redesigned UI for sideloading apps. The pop-up card has been enlarged, and the placement of text is also improved. The header has become a text-based progress bar, and buttons have adopted Expressive design.

The pop-up card’s header now shows the step-by-step progress of app installation, via AndroidAuthority. The “Permission required” card features the concerned app’s icon and label, followed by the next steps to be followed.

You can hit Settings and allow the OS to install APKs downloaded from the app.

As you allow, “Install this app” card will trigger with Expressive buttons termed Cancel and Install. Once you press Install, the installation process will be shown in the following card.

When the app is installed, you will have two options on the next card: Done and Open. Hitting Done will return you to the already opened app or webpage. If you press Open, the newly installed app will be launched on your device.

Android New Sideloading UI

The Package Installer procedure is the same as before. Google has elevated the user experience by bringing Expressive design components. Your sideloading experience will be a lot better than ever on your Android device.

Note that the UI changes appeared in the Android 16 QPR2 update. Pixel phones have recently received this update, while Samsung’s One UI 8.5 is expected to be based on this Android version, which Google termed as a “Minor SDK” release.

One UI 8.5 Beta arrives December 8

By:Yash
5 December 2025 at 06:54

Samsung is expected to launch One UI 8.5 Beta on December 8. The Beta Program will first be released for the Galaxy S25 series. The distribution will likely occur gradually, with a few countries joining on Monday.

Over the past couple of days, Samsung aggressively refined One UI 8.5 Beta ahead of its potential December 8 release. The company updated Beta builds more frequently than its usual routine to ensure a smooth launch.

Recently, One UI 8.5 Beta with PDA build number ZYL5 was spotted on Samsung’s server. A few moments later, the changelog of this update has emerged. It shows the software has finally reached a level of general stability.

Leaks suggest One UI 8.5 Beta will release first in Germany, South Korea, the UK, and the US. The second phase would follow, covering markets like India and Poland. The two countries would directly receive Beta 2 upon signup.

While recent developments are quite promising, Samsung hasn’t officially announced the Beta Program. The open testing for a mid-cycle version itself is unusual as the company doesn’t typically put x.1 or x.5 versions to Beta test.

So if you own a Galaxy S25 device, it’s time to be prepared. Free up storage and create a backup of your personal data and files. Keep the Samsung Members app updated from the Play Store or Galaxy Store for a smooth joining experience.

Once the Beta testing goes live, you will have to utilize the Samsung Members app for enrollment. Beta slots will be limited and fill up fast in the first phase; it is advised to act quickly and secure your seat for the Beta testing ahead.

Meanwhile, Samsung has also started internal One UI 8.5 testing on the Galaxy S24 series.

Samsung’s One UI 8.5 to bring back popular notification management feature

5 December 2025 at 00:35

Samsung is currently preparing to release One UI 8.5, based on Android 16. The update will bring a fresh design, new features, and better ways to manage notifications. Now, new information reveals that One UI 8.5 will bring back a useful Samsung NotiStar feature.

In One UI 7, Samsung NotiStar allowed users to lock important notifications so they wouldn’t be accidentally cleared. It meant that even if you tapped “Clear all,” important alerts would stay visible. However, Samsung removed this feature in One UI 8, leaving many users disappointed.

Now, a Samsung community moderator has confirmed that the feature will come back in One UI 8.5. It means that users will once again be able to protect important notifications from being dismissed.

As One UI 8.5 is currently under development, and if you don’t want to wait, there is a temporary solution. For that, you have to open the Samsung NotiStar app >> tap the three dots menu >> and select Information >> repeatedly tap the name “Kwangho Kim” until a Test mode message appears. After that, the missing option will appear in the Labs section.

NotiStar is a popular Samsung’s Good Lock suite and works as a notification history manager. It lets users see notifications even after they are cleared from the regular panel. With the restored feature, NotiStar will be even more useful for keeping track of important alerts.

Aside from this NotiStar feature, the One UI 8.5 update will bring several new features and improvements. You can check the full leaked changelog here.

Samsung Calculator to get a glow-up in One UI 8.5

4 December 2025 at 18:11

Samsung is preparing a new software update, One UI 8.5, and it introduces some welcome improvements to the Calculator app. The design now looks more polished, with buttons that feel smoother and more responsive. The update also adds a smart tool that helps you work faster with copied data.

According to the latest information, the biggest visual change in the new One UI 8.5 beta is the depth effect added to the main Calculator buttons. The number keys and math operators now have a soft shadow, which makes them look slightly raised and easier to notice. Buttons for switching modes, opening the unit converter, or checking history remain simple without the shadow.

Another new touch is the glow effect when you press a button. As soon as you tap a key, a gentle glow appears around it. The colour of this glow changes based on the mode you’re using and whether your phone is in light mode or dark mode. This glow also appears in Scientific mode and Unit Converter mode, giving the app a more lively and modern feel.

One UI 8.5 also introduces a helpful feature called Nudges. If you copy a number or a formula on your device, the Calculator will automatically show it as a suggestion. With one tap, you can insert it into the Calculator without typing anything.

Even though the app is getting these improvements, Samsung still hasn’t added a currency converter, a feature users have been requesting for years. It remains the one big missing tool in the Calculator.

One UI 8.5 update gives the Calculator a fresher look and adds a smart feature that makes calculations easier. It helps users work more smoothly in their daily tasks. Stay tuned for more information.
