Honor 600 Lite’s new MediaTek chip revealed through Geekbench listing

10 February 2026 at 15:57
Honor 400 Lite

Honor has been launching two generations of numbered smartphones each year in China, while the global market typically receives only select models. That’s why the Honor 300 and 500 series were launched in China but skipped for global markets. Now, the brand is said to be working on the Honor 600 series for both China and international markets.

In the latest development, Honor is gearing up to launch the Honor 600 Lite. The device was recently spotted on multiple certification platforms, and it has now appeared on Geekbench, revealing its chipset and other key details.

Recent certifications, such as GCF and TDRA (UAE), have revealed that an Honor phone bearing the model number LNA-NX1 will be called the Honor 600 Lite when it arrives in the global market. Honor has not launched a “Lite” version of its numbered series in China before, so the 600 Lite is unlikely to be released there.

The Honor 600 Lite’s Geekbench listing indicates that it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset. Currently, the only other phone known to feature this chip is the Infinix Note Edge, and it is speculated that the upcoming Tecno Pova Curve 2 may also adopt it.

While the chipset name is not explicitly mentioned in the Geekbench listing, the model number MT6858 along with CPU and GPU details (via metadata) are enough to confirm that the device features the Dimensity 7100 SoC.

The Geekbench listing further shows that the Honor 600 Lite comes with 8GB of RAM and runs Android 16, which is likely paired with MagicOS 10. It achieved scores of 994 and 3023 points in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.

Apart from appearing on Geekbench, the device has also surfaced in the database of Thailand’s NBTC certification. As usual, the listing hasn’t revealed anything significant about it. Upcoming reports are expected to reveal more details about the device.

Honor Magic 9 leak reveals massive 9,000mAh battery upgrade built to outlast rivals

10 February 2026 at 14:50
HONOR Magic 8 Pro

Honor appears to be doubling down on its focus on large battery capacities across its portfolio. After recently launching devices such as the Honor Win and Win RT with 10,000mAh batteries and the Honor Power 2 featuring a massive 10,080mAh unit, a new leak now suggests that the upcoming Magic 9 series could continue this trend. According to the leak, the next-generation flagship lineup may arrive with significantly bigger batteries than its predecessors, reinforcing Honor’s push towards long-lasting performance.

Honor Magic 9 series battery capacity tipped

Honor Magic 9 series battery capacity tipped

Well-known tipster Smart Pikachu claims that the Magic 9 lineup will remain photography-focused while also emphasizing battery endurance as a key selling point. The leak indicates that upcoming models in the series could feature battery capacities ranging between 8,000mAh and 9,000mAh, which would represent a noticeable upgrade compared to previous Magic-series smartphones.

For context, the current Honor Magic 8 lineup already includes sizeable battery units. The standard Magic 8, equipped with a 6.58-inch display, houses a 7,000mAh battery, while the Magic 8 Pro and Magic 8 RSR, both featuring 6.71-inch displays, offer slightly larger 7,100mAh batteries. These models are powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipsets, setting expectations that the next generation could bring both performance and efficiency improvements.

Rumors also indicate that the Magic 9 series may be among the early adopters of the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 platform. In terms of display sizes, early speculation points to a compact 6.3-inch panel for the standard Magic 9, while the Magic 9 Pro / RSR could grow to around 6.85 inches.

In related news, Honor is also said to be working on the Honor 600 series, which may debut by May 2026 in China. A recent report states that the vanilla Honor 600 may house a 6.57-inch OLED screen and a huge 9,000mAh battery. The other details of the Honor 600 series are under wraps.

Apple could release two MacBook Pro upgrades in 2026 and here’s when they are expected

10 February 2026 at 14:09
14-inch MacBook Pro M5

Rumour mills have been speculating that the new Apple MacBook Pro models powered by M5 Pro and M5 Max chips would go official in February 2026. However, a new report has emerged claiming that these devices could be unveiled in March. Here is a look at what the latest information suggests about Apple’s upcoming refresh.

M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro launch timeline tipped

14-inch MacBook Pro M5
14-inch MacBook Pro M5

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that new MacBook Pro models powered by M5 Pro and M5 Max chips could arrive as early as the week of March 2, possibly alongside the rollout of macOS Tahoe 26.3. The upcoming refresh is expected to focus mainly on internal upgrades rather than design changes. Current-generation models with M4 Pro and M4 Max processors reportedly remain in limited supply, which often signals that a replacement launch is approaching.

Historically, Apple’s MacBook Pro update cycle has not always followed predictable patterns. In 2023, the company introduced two major refreshes within the same year, suggesting that rapid updates can occur when new chip technology becomes available.

If the M5 Pro models debut in early March, a second upgrade later in 2026 may still be possible. To recall, the M5 MacBook was announced in October 2025, which suggests that a new MacBook Pro model with several upgrades may debut around the same time this year.

Possible M6 redesign and broader Mac roadmap

Reports indicate that a more significant redesign could follow with the introduction of M6 Pro models. Rumored changes include OLED display, a thinner chassis, and the possibility of touch support, representing a larger shift compared to the expected M5 refresh. Such an approach would allow Apple to maintain momentum with incremental updates while preparing for a major hardware overhaul later.

Other Mac devices are also said to be in development, including updated Mac Studio models, a new Studio Display, refreshed Mac mini systems, and a lower-cost MacBook powered by an iPhone-class processor. If Apple follows a similar strategy to past launches, the M5 Pro update may act as a transitional step before a more ambitious redesign arrives toward the end of the year.

Vivo Pad 6 Pro / iQOO Pad 6 Pro 3C certified, expected to feature Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

10 February 2026 at 10:26
Vivo Pad 5 Pro Soft Light Edition

Vivo is expected to hold a launch event in March in China. The event is expected to see the arrival of the Vivo X300 Ultra, Vivo X300 Max, and the company’s first camera. In a new development, the upcoming Vivo Pad 6 Pro has received approval from the country’s 3C certification platform, indicating that it may also launch soon in China, probably at the March event.

Vivo Pad 6 Pro / iQOO Pad 6 Pro 3C certified

As can be seen above, two new tablets bearing the model numbers iPA2673 and PA2671 have received approval from the 3C authority in China. These could be the upcoming iQOO Pad 6 Pro and Vivo Pad 6 Pro, respectively. While the iQOO device has been spotted with a power brick that supports up to 80W charging, the Vivo Pad 6 Pro’s power adapter supports up to 90W charging.

To recall, the Vivo Pad 5 Pro was announced along with the Vivo X200 Ultra and Vivo X200s in April 2025 in China, whereas the iQOO Pad 5 Pro was announced in May. Therefore, it is likely that the iQOO Pad 6 Pro may debut around a month after the Vivo Pad 6 Pro.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Vivo Pad 6 Pro / iQOO Pad 6 Pro will arrive with a 13-inch display and a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. In addition, these tablets are expected to pack huge batteries, but the exact capacity is not known yet.

Other details about these tablets remain under wraps. Like the Vivo Pad 5 Pro and iQOO Pad 5 Pro, their successor editions are expected to pack nearly identical specs.

In related news, the Vivo X300 Ultra’s standard version, which bears the model number V2547A, has also been approved by 3C. This comes close on the heels of the X300 Ultra Beidou Edition’s 3C certification, which was spotted earlier this week. Both devices have been listed with a 100W charger.

Ads are coming to ChatGPT but not for everyone, here’s what OpenAI revealed

10 February 2026 at 09:48
Chatgpt

OpenAI has started testing a new feature inside ChatGPT that could change how some users experience the platform. The company confirmed that a limited rollout has begun, with early feedback expected to shape future expansion and refinements.

OpenAI begins ChatGPT ad testing with privacy safeguards

Example of ChatGPT ad

The test currently applies to logged-in adult users in the US who are on the Free and Go subscription tiers. Paid plans such as Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education will remain ad-free. According to OpenAI, advertisements will appear as clearly labelled sponsored placements that are visually separated from normal responses to avoid confusion. The company says answers generated by ChatGPT will remain independent and will not be influenced by advertisers.

During the trial phase, ads are matched with conversation topics, previous chats and past ad interactions to improve relevance. For example, someone discussing cooking ideas may see promotions related to food or grocery services. However, advertisers do not receive access to individual conversations or personal details, as OpenAI states that only aggregated performance data such as views and clicks is shared.

OpenAI says introducing ads helps support infrastructure costs and enables broader access to advanced AI features, especially for lower-cost or free users. The Go plan in the US costs $8 per month, positioning it as an affordable subscription alongside the free tier. Users who prefer an ad-free experience can switch to higher-tier subscriptions or opt out of ads with certain usage limitations.

The move has also sparked reactions within the AI industry, including criticism from competitors questioning how ads might affect user trust. OpenAI maintains that safeguards are in place, including restrictions preventing ads from appearing near sensitive topics such as health, politics or mental health. Users will also have control over ad settings, including dismissal options, feedback tools and the ability to manage personalisation preferences.

Galaxy S26 Ultra: Everything we know so far

9 February 2026 at 18:34
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra render

As we approach the anticipated late February Unpacked event, the leaks surrounding the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra have transitioned from vague rumors to concrete specifications. While Samsung is opting for refinement over a radical redesign, the internal upgrades, particularly in processing power and display technology, suggest this will be the most capable Ultra model to date.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra render
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra render

Here is everything we know about the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Refined Design: Thinner, Lighter, and Curvier

One of the most immediate changes you’ll feel with the Galaxy S26 Ultra is its ergonomics. Samsung is reportedly moving away from the sharp, boxy corners that defined the S23 and S24 eras. Instead, the S26 Ultra will feature slightly more rounded corners, making the massive 6.9-inch device much more comfortable to hold for extended periods.

Leaked renders also suggest the phone will be incredibly sleek, measuring just 7.9mm in thickness and weighing around 214 grams. For context, this would make it the thinnest Ultra flagship Samsung has ever produced. The build will likely stick with a high-grade titanium frame and the next generation of Corning Gorilla Armor to maintain its rugged durability while shedding some bulk.

A Powerhouse Leap: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5

Under the hood, the S26 Ultra is set to be a performance monster.  It is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (specifically the “For Galaxy” overclocked edition). Early benchmarks indicate a significant leap in both CPU and GPU performance, with clock speeds potentially reaching up to 4.74 GHz.

To support heavy multitasking and the ever-growing suite of Galaxy AI features, Samsung is rumored to bump the RAM up to 16GB of LPDDR5X on higher-tier models. Storage options will likely remain consistent, starting at 256GB and topping out at 1TB, though rumors suggest Samsung may officially kill off the 128GB base model across the entire S26 lineup.

Display Innovation

Samsung continues to lead the industry in display tech. The S26 Ultra is tipped to feature a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel using the new M14 OLED materials, which offer better power efficiency and color accuracy. Peak brightness is expected to hit a staggering 3,000 nits, ensuring perfect visibility even in the harshest Mumbai sun.

The “coolest” rumored feature, however, is Flex Magic Pixel technology. This is an integrated privacy feature that can narrow viewing angles on command, preventing onlookers from seeing sensitive content on your screen—a feature that will surely appeal to business professionals.

Camera Consistency with a Low-Light Twist

While some fans were hoping for a total overhaul of the sensor array, Samsung is focusing on “quality over quantity.” The core setup remains a quad-camera system led by the 200-megapixel main sensor. However, leaks point to a wider f/1.4 aperture, which would drastically improve light intake for “Nightography” and low-light video.

The rest of the deck is expected to include:

  • 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor.
  • 50-megapixel periscope telephoto (5x optical zoom).
  • 10-megapixel telephoto (3x optical zoom).

A larger selfie cutout is also rumored, potentially housing a new 32MP front camera with a wider field of view for better group shots.

Battery, Charging, and OS

Despite the thinner chassis, Samsung is expected to maintain a 5,000mAh battery. The big news for power users is the potential jump to 60W or even 65W wired fast charging, finally moving past the 45W cap that has held steady for years. Qi2 magnetic wireless charging is also a strong possibility, allowing for easier alignment with accessories.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to ship with One UI 8.5-based Android 16 preinstalled. Likely, it will be treated with up to 7 years of Android OS and security updates. In terms of color options, the S26 Ultra is expected to arrive in shades, such as black, white, blue, and purple.

Expected Launch Details:

  • Unpacked Event: February 25, 2026. (Rumored)
  • Release Date: Early to Mid-March 2026.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro to feature LPDDR6 RAM, powerful GPU, primarily for ultra-premium flagships

9 February 2026 at 14:00
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro AI-generated image

Qualcomm is said to be working on the next-generation Snapdragon 8-series chipsets. Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed that the brand is working on two variants with part numbers SM8950 and SM8975, which are tentatively dubbed Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Elite Gen 6 Pro, respectively. In a new Weibo post, the same source has revealed a few more details about the next-generation Snapdragon 8-series chips.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 to be support LPDDR6, carry expensive price tag

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Elite Gen 6 Pro in works

According to the tipster, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (SM8950) and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro (SM8975) chips are said to be manufactured using TSMC’s advanced N2P process node, which indicates a move toward improved efficiency and higher performance capabilities compared to current-generation silicon.

Among the two, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro is described as the more advanced variant, supporting LPDDR6 memory along with a fully enabled GPU configuration and a more complete cache setup. This suggests that Qualcomm could differentiate the two processors not only by performance but also by memory standards and graphics capabilities. The higher-end version is expected to carry a significantly higher cost due to the advanced hardware configuration.

A previous report suggests that the Pro variant will be designed to power Ultra-branded phones like the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Oppo Find X10 Ultra, Vivo X500 Ultra, and so on. This chip may hit 5GHz or 6GHz of max processing speed.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6

The leak also mentions that several prototype devices currently being tested are equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset as a middle-tier flagship option, while there remains a small possibility that some models may shift to an N-1 generation chip identified as SM8850, which is nothing but last year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. This indicates that manufacturers may adopt a flexible approach depending on pricing and positioning.

In response to queries in the comments section of his Weibo post, the tipster added that sub-brand flagship devices are likely to receive the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor, hinting that premium offerings within subsidiary brands could adopt the highest-tier chipset. While the tipster did not specify the names of the phones, he could be talking about the likes of the Redmi K100 Pro Max, iQOO 16, Realme GT 9 Pro, and OnePlus 16.

Additionally, MediaTek is reportedly developing a single 2nm-based Dimensity 9600, internally expected to outperform Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6,valthough real-world testing will ultimately determine its standing.

Honor Magic V6 and Oppo Find N6 are among the first foldable phones expected to hit the Chinese market. Both devices are anticipated to break cover in March. While there is still no clarity about Xiaomi’s foldable plans this year after it skipped the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5, Vivo is expected to announce the Vivo X Fold 6 in a couple of months. A new leak suggests that it could be equipped with the best set of cameras ever seen on a foldable phone.

In the above leak, tipster Smart Pikachu claims that the Vivo X Fold 6 is being developed as the most imaging-focused foldable phone yet. He added that the device is reportedly being tested with a 200-megapixel camera and a multispectral sensor.

To recall, the Vivo X Fold 5 from last year featured a Sony IMX921 primary camera with OIS support in its rear camera setup. It was accompanied by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. The camera setup did not feature a multispectral sensor.

The multispectral sensor, which is expected to be available on the Vivo X Fold 6, will be responsible for color accuracy. At present, there is no clarity on whether the X Fold 6’s 200-megapixel camera will use a Samsung or an OmniVision sensor. It is also not known whether it will be used for the primary or periscope telephoto camera.

Considering that the Vivo X Fold 5 was powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it is likely that the Vivo X Fold 6 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Unfortunately, there is no information available about its other specifications. As far as launch is concerned, it may debut in July this year, similar to the previous generation.

Poco X8 Pro receives Korea RRA certification ahead of expected global launch

Poco may unveil the Poco X8 series globally in March, according to recent reports. This time, the lineup is said to skip a standard Poco X8 variant and instead include the Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max models. Ahead of the expected launch, the Poco X8 Pro appears to be actively securing regulatory approvals, suggesting that the announcement could be close.

The latest development confirms that the Poco X8 Pro, which bears the model number 2511FPC34G, was approved by South Korea’s RRA platform back in December 2025. The listing identifies the device as a smartphone manufactured by Xiaomi Communications Co., Ltd., and also mentions its SAR value of 0.863 / 1.6 W/kg. While the certification does not disclose hardware specifications, such approvals typically indicate that the device is nearing commercial availability.

The Poco X8 Pro has previously surfaced in other regulatory databases as well. The device was earlier spotted on Thailand’s NBTC certification platform and the EEC database in Europe. Notably, the Thailand certification revealed the existence of a Poco X8 Pro Iron Man Edition, suggesting that Poco may introduce both a standard and a special edition variant at launch. Both versions are expected to share the same model number, indicating similar hardware configurations with possible cosmetic or software differences.

The Poco X8 Pro is expected to feature a 6.59-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, offering a balance between performance and visual clarity. Under the hood, the device is rumoured to be powered by the Dimensity 8500 chipset, paired with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage for improved performance and faster data handling. The phone may arrive with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.

In terms of cameras, leaks suggest a 20-megapixel front-facing camera along with a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel main sensor with OIS and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. Fast charging support of up to 90W is also expected, allowing quick top-ups for heavy users.

The device is widely believed to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Turbo 5. However, while the Redmi Turbo 5 includes a 7,560mAh battery, the Poco X8 Pro is likely to pack a smaller battery with around 6,500mAh capacity.

Redmi K100 Pro Max / Poco F9 Ultra may feature 200MP camera

Redmi K90 Pro Max

Various smartphones across different brands launching this year are expected to feature 200-megapixel cameras. Earlier today, it was reported that the Xiaomi 18 Pro series may feature dual 200-megapixel cameras. Now, a new leak reveals that the Redmi K100 series may also include a 200-megapixel camera.

Redmi K100 Pro Max may receive a major camera boost

Redmi K100 series to feature 200MP camera

The above leak by tipster Smart Pikachu reveals that another sub-brand lineup is aiming higher and may adopt 200-megapixel and periscope cameras. The hashtag used in the leak suggests that it pertains to the Redmi K100 series.

The Redmi K100 series is initially expected to include two models, the Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max, as successors to last year’s Redmi K90 Pro and Redmi K90 Pro Max. To recall, the Pro edition features a 50-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 50-megapixel (telephoto) triple camera unit, whereas the Pro Max has a 50-megapixel (main) + 50-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 50-megapixel (periscope telephoto) triple camera setup.

If a 200-megapixel camera is to arrive on the Redmi K100 series, the Pro Max model is likely to be the ideal candidate to receive it. It is still unclear whether the Pro Max edition will feature a 200-megapixel primary camera or a periscope telephoto camera.

Poco F8 Ultra rebranding

Just as the Redmi K90 Pro Max was rebranded as the Poco F8 Ultra globally, the Poco F9 Ultra may launch in the global market as a renamed version of the K100 Pro Max. Therefore, it is likely that the F9 Ultra could be the first Poco phone to feature a 200-megapixel camera. The Poco F9 series is likley to debut in the first quarter of 2027.

Xiaomi 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max may offer major upgrades with dual 200MP cameras

9 February 2026 at 08:21

Xiaomi is reportedly preparing its next-generation flagship lineup, with early leaks hinting at significant hardware changes for the Xiaomi 18 series. A new leak suggests that imaging capabilities could receive a notable upgrade, particularly for the Pro variants. At present, a 200-megapixel camera is only limited to the Ultra variant, but the new leak reveals that even Pro models will come equipped with it.

Xiaomi 18 Pro series could feature 200-megapixel cameras

According to well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, an upcoming Xiaomi flagship phone equipped with a 6.3-inch display and dual 200-megapixel cameras is in the works. While it appears to be a Xiaomi leak, he has not specified the name of the device.

Based on Xiaomi’s current lineup strategy, both the standard Xiaomi 18 and the Xiaomi 18 Pro are expected to retain a compact form factor like the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Pro. However, major camera enhancements are likely to be reserved for the Pro model. Hence, it can be assumed that the Xiaomi 18 Pro may feature dual 200-megapixel cameras, as per the new leak.

There’s a possibility that Xiaomi may continue mirroring hardware between Pro and Pro Max variants. Similar to how the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max share siimlar camera systems, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max may offer the same dual 200-megapixel setup while differentiating itself with different camera sensors, a larger display, and higher battery capacity. A 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens is also expected to complement the main sensors. Both the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max feature a more versatile secondary display on the back.

DCS has previously claimed that the standard Xiaomi 18 could finally introduce a periscope telephoto camera, replacing the existing telephoto unit with improved optical zoom capabilities.

Across the lineup, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset is rumored to power Xiaomi 18, 18 Pro, and 18 Pro Max, while the Xiaomi 18 Ultra may adopt a higher-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro variant. The Xiaomi 18 series is expected to debut in China around September, with the Ultra model potentially arriving later in the year.

Xiaomi is currently gearing up to launch the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra globally. Reports have claimed that the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max will remain exclusive to the Chinese market. Therefore, there is no clarity on whether Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max will be released globally.
