Samsung boosts Galaxy S26 Ultra early production by 50%: Report

24 February 2026 at 17:18

Samsung is getting ready to launch its new Galaxy S26 series. The most premium model of this series will be the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. Even though big hardware upgrades are not expected, Samsung is making an important production change. The company plans to produce more Galaxy S26 Ultra units in the beginning.

According to ETNews, Samsung has increased the early production target of the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Earlier, it planned to make two million units in the first two months. Now, it plans to make three million units. This is nearly a 50% increase in early production. However, the total production volume for the device is expected to remain the same overall.

The reason behind this move is rising memory chip prices. Memory is one of the most expensive parts of a smartphone. Samsung expects memory prices to go up even more soon. If the company produces more units later, it may have to pay more for these components.

By making more phones now, Samsung can use current prices and reduce future costs. This could help the company manage expenses and protect profit margins.

The Galaxy S26 series, including the Samsung Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+, may launch at a higher price. Higher production costs are likely the reason. Samsung will unveil these phones at its Galaxy Unpacked event. An unboxing video of the Galaxy S26 Ultra has already appeared online before launch.
