The Domestic Visitor Survey has been positioned as a key part of a broader evidence base for tourism. The insights build on volumes and flow data released late in the previous year, creating a more complete picture of how visitors move around New Zealand. The next data release is planned for September 2026 and will be based on information collected in the April 2026 survey, allowing trends over time to be tracked.
