This morning, CAPCOM revealed in a press release that Resident Evil Requiem has already surpassed five million units sold globally in just six days since its February 27 launch. We already had an inkling of the game's excellent commercial performance based on how easily it smashed prior franchise concurrency records on Steam. User reviews on Valve's platform are also Overwhelmingly Positive (96% right now), and the game currently holds the best user score on Metacritic, tied with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Weirdly enough, though, CAPCOM does not boast of Resident Evil Requiem being the fastest-selling franchise entry, even though it […]

Although CAPCOM’s RE Engine proved to be a great engine for linear games such as Resident Evil Requiem, Monster Hunter Wilds highlighted how the engine wasn't as good at handling open-world games. Its significant performance issues have now been fixed for the most part, and they may even be a thing of the past for future games from the Japanese publisher, judging from a recent statement. During a Q&A session held during the publisher's Q3 FY2025 Financial Results Conference Call, CAPCOM discussed its future PC strategy.
