10 March 2026 at 23:30

The image shows the PlayStation Store logo featuring a blue shopping bag with the PlayStation symbol and the text 'PlayStation Store' against a blue background with PlayStation symbols.

The class-action lawsuit, branded as "PlayStation You Owe Us", filed by consumer rights champion Alex Neill against Sony's PlayStation has finally kicked off in earnest today, with the plaintiff's legal counsel, Mr Palmer, delivering the opening statement (the proceedings were livestreamed on the Competition Appeal Tribunal's official website). The legal action was filed in 2022 to challenge Sony's monopoly over the PlayStation Store digital platform, which, according to the plaintiffs, led to higher game prices for consumers. The damage figure sought by the plaintiff has changed, though: it initially stood atΒ $5 billionΒ in 2022 and rose to Β£6.3 billion in November […]

Ghost of Yotei Legends is Out Now on PS5, and it Makes Sony’s Pivot Away From PC Ports Sting Even More

10 March 2026 at 22:19

A character in warrior armor with a demonic mask and glowing eyes holds a blood-covered sword in a snowy environment.

Sucker Punch Productions has released Ghost of Yotei Legends as free DLC for all owners of Ghost of Yotei today on PS5. It's a welcome return of the surprise multiplayer mode that players loved digging into in Ghost of Tsushima, but its arrival on PlayStation today, days after we learned more about Sony's evolving strategy with its PC ports, makes the strategy pivot sting even more. When Ghost of Tsushima arrived on PC, it set new records for concurrent player counts on Steam amongst PlayStation's current suite of PS5 to PC releases and was the best-selling game in the US […]

New Report Suggests Sony was Losing Out on PC Sales of SP-Games Due to its Reluctance Towards Same-Day PC/PS5 Launches

6 March 2026 at 21:44

PC players are still reeling from Bloomberg's report earlier this week that Sony will be pulling back on its strategy of putting its first-party PlayStation titles on PC. Ghost of Yotei and Saros are the first two that seemingly won't be making the jump, and it doesn't seem like any PlayStation Studios titles (at least the single-player ones) will get PC ports in the future. The key element as to why Sony is backing off from putting its single-player games on PC fell on claims that it simply wasn't worth it. Despite the first batch of PlayStation titles selling well […]

PlayStation 6 Reportedly Won’t Be Delayed Due to RAM Costs: β€œIt Would Cost More to Delay Than to Pay Extra”

6 March 2026 at 16:43

A sleek, futuristic console labeled 'PS6 PlayStation 6' with the PlayStation logo is displayed on a pedestal.

The PlayStation 6 will reportedly stick to its 2027/early 2028 launch window despite rising component costs, as the financial penalty for delaying TSMC 3nm production far outweighs the current "RAMmageddon" price hikes. Despite recent rumors suggesting a push to 2029, insider Moore’s Law Is Dead argues that Sony’s production contracts with TSMC and the massive development costs already sunk into the system's Orion APU would make a significant delay extremely problematic. According to the report shared in a new YouTube video, Sony has reportedly already secured its 3nm manufacturing allotment from TSMC for Q2 2027. Pulling out now would be […]

Ghost of Yotei and Saros Reportedly Won’t Be Coming to PC as Sony Pivots Back Towards PS-Console Exclusives for Single-Player Games

4 March 2026 at 18:30

Multiple iconic video game characters and a baseball player montage in front of the 'PlayStation Studios' logo.

After Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier initially pointed to PlayStation, "backing away from putting their traditional single-player games on PC" on a podcast, he's now published a longer report, which digs a bit deeper into the situation. Essentially, it seems Sony has decided to pivot its strategy of putting its more traditional single-player games on PC, shifting back to keeping them as PlayStation console exclusives. Now, both Ghost of Yotei and Saros won't make the jump to PC as a result. That means PC players who loved Returnal or Ghost of Tsushima on PC will have to buy a PS5 if […]
