The UConn Huskies are heading back to the March Madness Final Four after a remarkable turnaround against the Duke Blue Devils.

For the opening 20 minutes, Duke thoroughly dominated Dan Hurley’s team and looked poised to reach the championship weekend in Indianapolis. However, the Huskies completed an improbable comeback that included the shot of the NCAA Tournament.

Freshman star Baylon Mullins hit the game-winning three-pointer with less than one second remaining to give UConn the advantage for good. Meanwhile, the logo dagger from Mullins only happened due to his defensive steal moments before.

Mullins’ crucial steal near half court has made him an instant star for Connecticut during his freshman campaign. Meanwhile, the sharpshooter is a presumed first round pick ahead of the 2026 NBA Draft in June.

Sunday’s win over Duke gives UConn a shot at reaching another title game as they prepare to face Illinois. However, the Huskies overcame as 15-point halftime deficit against Cameron Boozer and the Blue Devils.

The Huskies have six national titles since 1999, and Hurley’s presence as head coach has only led to more success for the Big East program. In fact, UConn won back-to-back championships in 2023 and 2024, and now the school has another chance to win big in this year’s NCAA Tournament.
