Romano drops big update on Alisson Becker future amid Juventus interest

27 April 2026 at 21:40

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided a major update on the future of Alisson Becker, revealing that Italian giants Juventus have made a “serious approach” to sign the Liverpool goalkeeper this summer.

With the Brazilian’s time at Anfield potentially nearing an end, the tug-of-war between a fresh start in Serie A and continued loyalty to the Premier League has officially begun.

According to Romano, Juventus are prepared to offer a significant long-term package to the 33-year-old, likely consisting of a two-year deal with an option for a third, or a straight three-year contract.

Romano: Alisson Becker keen on Juventus move but will respect Liverpool’s decision

The temptation of a move to Turin is reportedly strong for Alisson. A primary factor is the presence of Luciano Spalletti, the current Juventus manager who coached Alisson during his breakout years at AS Roma.

However, the journalist was quick to emphasise that Alisson’s deep affection for Liverpool remains a hurdle for any swift exit.

Having seen the club recently activate an option to extend his contract until 2027, Alisson is adamant about not forcing a move.

The final decision now rests with the Liverpool board, who must weigh a potential transfer fee against the loss of a sporting icon.

Romano said on his latest YouTube video:

“Juventus already made serious approach with Alisson and his camp over a potential long-term contract. Long-term doesn’t mean five years, but my understanding is that Juventus would be ready to offer a two plus one year contract. two years plus one as option or eventually to discuss a three-year contract with Alisson.

So with these two options being discussed but it’s an important contract a long contract for Alisson. At the same time Liverpool have activated few weeks ago the option to extend his current contract at Anfield until 2027.

So on one side Alisson has one more year contract at Liverpool. On the other side Juventus are prepared to offer two plus one or even three years at the club to the Brazilian goalkeeper.

From my understanding, Alisson would be tempted by the possibility to return in Italy and try a new chapter after he did a fantastic at Roma a few years ago with the same coach who is now at Juventus, Luchos Palleti.

So, Alisson would be tempted by this possibility. But he doesn’t want to leave Liverpool in a bad way at all. He wants to respect Liverpool. Alisson loves Liverpool and he will not leave on bad terms.

That’s the intention of the Brazilian goalkeeper. So now it’s on Liverpool to decide from now to the end of the season to communicate something with Alisson and decide what they want to do if they want to keep him if they want to sell him if they open doors which conditions what Juventus can pay to Liverpool eventually.

So several points to clarify in order to understand the future of Alisson but at the moment it depends on Liverpool.

Liverpool extended his contract because they believe in Alisson and they are already going to lose two important leaders Mo Salah and the Robertson.

So losing also Alisson on the same summer would be tough and that’s going to be a point discussed internally in order to make a decision.”

Why selling Alisson Becker would be a mistake

Despite the temptation to cash in on an aging asset, selling Alisson this summer could prove to be a massive mistake for the Reds.

Historically, elite goalkeepers often reach their absolute peak in their mid-to-late 30s, as seen with legends like Gianluigi Buffon and Manuel Neuer, meaning Alisson likely has several years of world-class performance remaining.

Beyond his shot-stopping, his presence is a foundational element of the club’s DNA.

With Liverpool already braced for the departures of Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson, losing a third pillar of the “Klopp era” leadership group in a single window would represent a massive blow to the squad’s emotional and tactical stability.

Replacing Alisson’s distribution and 1v1 dominance is a near-impossible task, and his exit could leave a void that no amount of transfer profit can fill.

‘Maybe he’s back next week’ – Virgil van Dijk gives encouraging update on Mohamed Salah

27 April 2026 at 21:04

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has offered a glimmer of hope to the Anfield faithful, suggesting that Mohamed Salah’s legendary career on Merseyside may not have reached a premature end.

The Egyptian superstar was forced off during Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace with a suspected hamstring injury, sparking widespread fears that he had played his final minutes for the club ahead of his confirmed departure this summer.

As Salah walked slowly toward the tunnel in the 59th minute, the atmosphere at Anfield was one of somber appreciation, with many fearing the worst.

Egypt’s assistant coach also gave a worrying update, citing a four-week period on the sidelines from the hamstring injury.

However, Van Dijk remains optimistic that the “Egyptian King” could still feature in the season’s final weeks.

Virgil Van Dijk optimistic on early Mohamed Salah return

Van Dijk struck a defiant yet cautious tone regarding his teammate’s recovery.

While the club awaits official scan results, the captain emphasised Salah’s professional drive to return.

Van Dijk said (quotes via The Independent): “There will be a medical assessment and then that will determine what the issue is going to be. I know he is doing everything in his power to be back on the pitch as soon as possible.

“If you get injured at this stage of the season, especially in the situation he is in [when] there is only two more home games left for him, it’s a combination of feelings that go through your mind when you go off.

“The reality is he has to get scanned and assessed. Hopefully he won’t be long but at this point I don’t know. Maybe he’s back next week, maybe not. I have no idea. He will get the send-off regardless.

“I don’t think that is the thing at this point; we shouldn’t think too far ahead. Knowing Mo, he is a quick healer with the right people around us, and let’s see.”

Salah’s impeccable injury history

Part of the optimism surrounding a potential return stems from Salah’s extraordinary physical resilience.

Throughout his nine-year tenure at Liverpool, the 33-year-old has rarely been sidelined for extended periods, maintaining a fitness record that is virtually unrivaled in the Premier League.

Since joining in 2017, Salah has been the model of consistency, featuring in 440 matches and scoring 257 goals, missing just eight games in eight years.

His ability to avoid long-term layoffs has been a vital part of Liverpool’s success under both Jurgen Klopp and now Arne Slot.

If anyone can defy the usual four-week recovery timeline for a hamstring tear, it is the man who has spent nearly a decade leading the line with iron-clad durability.

Supporters now face a nervous wait to see if that recovery power can grant him one last dance at Anfield.

Man United star has no plans to play for the club again and is willing to take pay cut to seal exit

27 April 2026 at 20:34

Marcus Rashford has no plans to play for Manchester United ever again, according to a bombshell report from Mundo Deportivo.

The 28-year-old forward, currently on a season-long loan at Barcelona, has reportedly decided that his professional future lies exclusively at the Spotify Camp Nou.

Despite a contract with the Red Devils that runs until 2028, Rashford believes the Barcelona style of play under Hansi Flick is a far better match for his characteristics than the environment at Old Trafford.

Following a clinical goal in Barça’s recent victory over Getafe, the Englishman is convinced he has done enough to earn a permanent stay in Catalonia.

His statistics back up his confidence. In 2,333 minutes of action, Rashford has been involved in 26 goals (13 goals and 11 assists, plus two penalties won).

This averages out to a goal contribution every 89 minutes, a goalscoring ratio that currently outshines many elite attackers across La Liga.

Marcus Rashford willing to take generous pay cut to seal Man United exit

As per the report, Rashford is prepared to make significant financial sacrifices. Barcelona currently holds a €30 million purchase option valid until June, but the club’s ongoing financial constraints have made them hesitant to pull the trigger.

Knowing that Barça seeks to reduce both the transfer fee and the long-term wage commitment for a player turning 29 this October, Rashford has reportedly signaled a willingness to give up a “generous portion” of his current salary.

He is eager to finalise his future before the upcoming World Cup.

Tottenham keen on signing Rashford

While Rashford’s heart is set on Spain, other suitors are lurking if the Barcelona deal falters. Tottenham have emerged as a primary candidate to bring the forward back to the Premier League.

Spurs are reportedly monitoring the situation closely, viewing Rashford as a marquee signing to lead a squad rebuild under Roberto De Zerbi.

However, any move to North London remains complicated by Tottenham’s current league position and Rashford’s own preference to remain at Barcelona.

Tottenham plot surprise move for Englishman with 144 goals & 148 assists but deal hinges on relegation

27 April 2026 at 19:18

Tottenham are eyeing a stunning move to sign Rangers’ star James Tavernier as per the latest from Graeme Bailey.

In what could be one of the most surprising transfer stories of the upcoming window, Tottenham are reportedly preparing a move for the veteran Rangers captain.

The 34-year-old, who has spent over a decade at Ibrox, is set to become a free agent this summer, and Spurs are reportedly at the front of the queue to secure his signature.

Tottenham to move for James Tavernier in case of relegation

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham are weighing up a move for Tavernier as they prepare for a potential squad overhaul.

Interestingly, the deal reportedly hinges on the club’s league status. Currently involved in a desperate battle to avoid relegation under Roberto De Zerbi, Spurs view Tavernier’s leadership and experience as key assets, particularly if they find themselves competing in the Championship next season.

The report adds that Wolves, who have officially been relegated, are also interested in the player, but the lure of North London could prove decisive for the veteran right-back as he seeks a final major challenge in his storied career.

Tavernier’s impressive goalscoring record at Rangers

Tavernier will depart Glasgow as a certified legend, having established himself as one of the most prolific defenders in modern British football.

This season, he has scored 14 goals and assisted another six in 50 games across all competitions.

Over his 11-year spell at Ibrox, the captain has made over 560 appearances and netted an unprecedented 144 goals and assisted another 148.

His ability from set-pieces and his relentless energy down the right flank helped Rangers secure a historic Scottish Premiership title in 2021 and a run to the Europa League final in 2022.

For a Spurs side that has struggled for consistency and veteran leadership this term, those numbers represent a rare opportunity to add a high-output player for zero transfer fee.

Spurs looking to sign another free agent in Andy Robertson

The interest in Tavernier appears to be part of a wider strategy to recruit experienced leaders on free transfers.

Reports suggest Tottenham are also the frontrunners to sign Liverpool’s Andy Robertson, although, with Robertson, a move depends on Spurs avoiding relegation.

The Scotland captain is also set to leave his club as a free agent this summer, bringing an end to an illustrious career with Liverpool.

Fan footage shows Spurs medical team negligence could have worsened Simon injury

27 April 2026 at 18:55

Xavi Simons’ ACL injury has been confirmed, which will now see him miss the rest of the season as well as the World Cup, and the Spurs’ medical team’s negligence may have just played a part in it.

The Dutch playmaker, who arrived in North London with high expectations, saw his season come to a tragic end during Tuesday night’s fixture.

While the diagnosis of a ruptured ACL is devastating enough, a storm is brewing over how the club’s medical staff handled the immediate aftermath of the incident on the pitch.

Fan footage shows Tottenham medical team’s negligence

Newly emerged fan footage captured from the stands provides a damning look at the moments following Simons’ injury.

In the video, the Tottenham medical team appears visibly uncertain about the seriousness of the situation.

Despite Simons being in clear agony, staff members were seen encouraging the midfielder to stand up and walk it off which resulted in him collapsing again.

He was eventually wheeled away, but fans are questioning why a player with a potential ligament tear was ever told to stand.

This is not the first time the club’s medical department has faced scrutiny. Earlier this year, Dejan Kulusevski was subjected to a similar “fitness test” on the sidelines.

Despite reporting severe pain, the Swede was instructed to jog up and down the touchline to prove his fitness.

It was later revealed he had suffered a significant patella injury, an oversight that many believe lengthened his eventual recovery time.

Tottenham star deletes all posts from social media after incident vs Wolves

27 April 2026 at 01:49

Tottenham star Xavi Simons has sparked significant concern among the Spurs faithful after appearing to delete post from his Instagram profile.

The social media purge followed a chaotic afternoon at Molineux on Saturday, where a vital victory was overshadowed by a potentially season-ending injury to the Dutch playmaker.

Xavi Simons fumes at fan after suffering injury vs Wolves

The 23-year-old’s afternoon turned sour in the 63rd minute when he was forced off with a serious-looking knee injury.

As Simons was being carried around the pitch on a stretcher, video footage captured a heated, x-rated exchange between the player and a section of the home support.

Insults hurled by Wolves fans were met with a defiant and explicit response from Simons, who was visibly distressed by the injury.

Xavi Simons deletes Instagram posts

On Sunday, it was noticed that Simons had wiped his Instagram account of all Tottenham-related photos from the account.

Later, he continued to remove all the photos from his account, leaving fans puzzled.

The move, often a precursor to a player’s departure or a sign of extreme internal frustration, has left supporters scouring for answers.

While Simons did post a message regarding the win on Sunday morning, the absence of his historical Spurs media has led to intense speculation.

Whether the deletion is a reaction to his injury, or the abuse received at Molineux or a deeper issue regarding his future at the club remains unclear.

Injury a blow to Spurs in survival fight

The timing could not be worse for Roberto De Zerbi’s side. Spurs currently sit 18th in the Premier League, battling to avoid their first relegation since 1977.

Simons has been a rare bright spark in a difficult campaign, and his potential absence for the final four games, against Aston Villa, Leeds, Chelsea, and Everton, would be a catastrophic blow.

With the club awaiting official scan results on Monday or Tuesday, fans are left hoping that his social media activity is merely a temporary blackout rather than a permanent goodbye.

Update:

It appears that the deletion of posts from Instagram was linked with the injury he picked up against Wolves.

Simons has now posted an emotional post confirming his injury is a long term one which will see him miss the rest of the season as well as the World Cup.

“They say life can be cruel and today it feels that way. My season has come to an abrupt end and I’m just trying to process it. Honestly, I’m heartbroken. None of it makes sense. All I’ve wanted to do is fight for my team and now the ability to do that has been snatched away from me… along with the World Cup. Representing my country this summer…just gone. It’ll take time to find peace with this, but I’ll continue to be the best teammate I can be. I have no doubt that together we’ll win this fight.

“I’ll walk this path now, guided by faith, with strength, with resilience, with belief, as I count down the days to getting back out there. Be patient with me. TTP. COYS.”

Report: Arsenal open to selling summer signing after just one season, insider claims

27 April 2026 at 01:16

Arsenal are open to listening to offers for summer signing Viktor Gyokeres this summer, according to a prominent insider on social media.

Despite arriving with heavy expectations as the solution to Mikel Arteta’s long-standing search for a clinical number nine, the Swedish international could find his stay in North London cut unexpectedly short.

Arsenal to sell Viktor Gyokeres?

The report, initially broken by the ITK on X, suggests that the Gunners are prepared to entertain bids for the 27-year-old forward just twelve months after his arrival.

He posted on X: “Arsenal are open to listening to any offers for Viktor Gyökeres this summer.”

While Arsenal have enjoyed an impressive campaign, the club’s hierarchy is reportedly weighing up whether Gyokeres is the long-term fit for Arteta’s tactical evolution.

The decision comes at a time when Arsenal are already being linked with potential replacements.

Gyokeres’ debut season at Arsenal

Gyökeres signed only last summer after a long transfer saga involving Arsenal’s hunt for a new striker, eventually joining from Sporting CP for a significant fee.

While he has not produced the same astronomical output as he did in the Primeira Liga, his debut season has still been decent as far as numbers are concerned.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

Across all competitions, Gyökeres has netted 18 goals in 48 games.

Though these statistics represent a solid return for a debutant in the world’s most competitive league, they fall short of the elite standard many expected. That said, a lot of it could also have to do with Arteta’s passive style of play.

For now, the Swedish powerhouse remains a key part of the squad and the report appears to be a bit far fetched at this stage.

Coach shares latest on Mohamed Salah injury as Steven Gerrard warning threatens to come true

27 April 2026 at 00:32

Mohamed Salah may have played his final game for the club. After limping off during the midweek clash against Crystal Palace, the worst fears of the Anfield faithful seem to have been confirmed by international sources, suggesting the Egyptian King’s storied tenure in Merseyside could be reaching a premature and sad conclusion.

According to Egypt’s assistant coach, Ibrahim Hassan, medical assessments from the national team camp indicate that Salah has suffered a significant hamstring tear.

The injury is expected to sideline the forward for at least four weeks, which would effectively ending his participation in the remainder of the Premier League season.

Speaking to the Reuters (quotes via Al Jazeera), Hassan was direct about the severity of the issue, stating: “He has suffered a hamstring tear and will require four weeks of treatment.”

Steven Gerrard on Mohamed Salah injury

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, speaking on TNT Sports (via Mirror), expressed grave concerns over the news.

Having experienced the physical toll of high-stakes football himself, the former captain suggested that Salah’s optimism might be misplaced given the nature of hamstring issues at this stage of the season.

Gerrard emphasised that the lack of a proper farewell would be a tragedy for both the player and the supporters.

“It would be sad, but let’s hope that’s not the case [that he’s played his final game].

“It’s worse than Mo probably thinks it is now, but until you can get it properly assessed by the medical team, and you have an MRI scan, you don’t really know the extent.”

“If it is the case that he’s played his last game, that would be extremely sad – not just for Mo but for everyone connected with Liverpool Football Club, because he’s been a legend and everyone wants to see him get the send-off he deserves.”

Sad end to an otherwise illustrious Liverpool career

With Salah set to leave the club once his contract expires this summer, a four-week layoff would mean he has no further opportunities to wear the red shirt.

Since arriving from Roma in 2017, Salah has smashed nearly every goal-scoring record at the club, leading them to Premier League and Champions League glory.

If the 3-1 win over Palace was indeed his curtain call, it marks a quiet end for a player who has provided so many loud, iconic moments.

“They should be playing for Liverpool” – Steven Gerrard hits out over two big transfer mistakes

26 April 2026 at 22:21

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has subtly voiced his frustration towards his club for not securing the signings of Marc Guehi and Antoine Semenyo when they had the chance.

The former Reds captain, speaking on TNT Sports ahead of the FA Cup semi-final weekend, suggested that Liverpool’s hesitation in the transfer market has directly benefited their fiercest rivals.

Gerrard’s comments come at a painful time for the Anfield faithful, as the club struggles to maintain pace in the Champions League qualification race while watching former targets flourish elsewhere.

Steven Gerrard: Marc Guehi and Antoine Semenyo should be playing for Liverpool

Gerrard was candid when discussing the two players, both of whom were heavily linked with moves to Merseyside before eventually heading to the Etihad Stadium.

Liverpool had a deal for Guehi nearly finalised last summer, only for Crystal Palace to pull back at the eleventh hour.

Semenyo was also strongly linked with Liverpool but Man City went in aggressively, paying the release clause and offering a better financial package to seal the deal.

The Anfield legend’s swipe at the recruitment team underscores a frustrating January window for the Reds, who failed to reinforce key areas while Manchester City moved decisively to bolster their squad.

“They should be playing for Liverpool,” Gerrard stated.

“We were linked with two of those players and that would have made a big difference to Liverpool. It hurts to see them shining for City when you know they were within reach.

“They have that Premier League grit and quality that would have addressed our issues in the winter.”

Both players impact Man City’s incredible title push

The sting of the missed transfers is amplified by the massive impact both players have made at Manchester City.

Since joining in January for a combined fee of roughly £82.5 million, Guehi and Semenyo have been catalysts for City’s surge in the second half of the season.

Guehi has provided elite defensive stability during City’s recent injury crisis, while Semenyo has added a fresh, explosive dimension to Pep Guardiola’s attack, already tallying vital goal contributions.

Their arrivals coincided with City blowing the title race wide open, recently defeating league-leaders Arsenal to put the trophy within their reach.

Chelsea fans will love what Reece James was seen doing at full time vs Leeds

26 April 2026 at 21:17

Chelsea fans have been treated to a heartwarming scene at Wembley after their side secured a place in the FA Cup final with a 1-0 win over Leeds United.

At the heart of the celebrations was club captain Reece James, whose gesture toward interim boss Calum McFarlane has quickly gone viral among the Blues faithful.

In the post-win celebrations, James was seen physically pushing a reluctant McFarlane toward the traveling Chelsea supporters.

The skipper’s intent was clear: he wanted the 40-year-old coach to take the limelight and soak up the love of the fans.

Reece James and Calum McFarlane share brilliant moment

Despite not being in the matchday squad as he continues his rehabilitation, James was on the pitch immediately at full-time to lead the celebrations.

The exchange between the captain and the coach, as reported by Ben Jacobs, perfectly showcased the renewed spirit in the Chelsea camp.

McFarlane, who stepped in following the dismissal of Liam Rosenior earlier this week, has managed to steady the ship immediately.

Speaking after the match, the caretaker boss admitted the whirlwind nature of his return to the dugout has been taxing.

“Being caretaker again has been intense, but not as crazy as last time. Knowing the squad better, having been part of Liam’s staff, made a huge difference. The players deserve all the credit for how they’ve responded.”

Calum McFarlane becomes first English manager to reach FA Cup final since Frank Lampard

The victory isn’t just a win for the club’s silverware hopes, it’s a historic personal milestone for McFarlane.

By booking a date with Manchester City on May 16, he has become the first English manager to reach an FA Cup final since Frank Lampard did so with Chelsea in 2020.

It is a remarkable feat for a man whose senior managerial experience consists of just a handful of matches.

McFarlane’s tactical setup successfully nullified a spirited Leeds side, ensuring Enzo Fernández’s first-half goal was enough to seal the result.

With the final on the horizon, James’s public show of support suggests that while McFarlane may only be an interim, he has earned the total respect of the Chelsea dressing room.

Steven Gerrard singles out Chelsea star for his ‘tremendous’ performance against Leeds

26 April 2026 at 19:55

Former Liverpool captain and TNT Sports pundit Steven Gerrard has lauded Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández for his dominant performance during the ongoing FA Cup semi-final against Leeds United at Wembley.

With the match crossing the 80-minute mark and Chelsea leading 1-0, Gerrard highlighted the Argentine’s tactical intelligence and work rate as the deciding factor in the contest so far.

Fernandez, wearing the captain’s armband, scored the opener in the 23rd minute after great assist from Pedro Neto, a goal that has kept the Blues in the driving seat for a place in the final.

Steven Gerrard full of praise for Enzo Fernandez

Speaking on TNT Sports, Gerrard was quick to emphasise that Fernandez’s impact extended far beyond his crucial goal.

The pundit noted how the World Cup winner has dictated the tempo and found space against a compact Leeds defense.

He said (via BBC Sport):

“You have to say Enzo Fernandez has been absolutely tremendous from the get-go. He keeps picking up positions on the sides of them, behind them. He’s jumping on second balls.

“He played a lovely pass earlier to Joao Pedro, so he’s certainly influencing this game. It’s a big goal for Chelsea, in the context of the day and also for the run they are on.”

Enzo ends Chelsea goal drought

The goal was a symbolic moment for both the player and the club. It ended a collective goal drought for Chelsea against Premier League-level opposition that had stretched over 500 minutes.

The match also marks the first game of Calum McFarlane’s second interim stint this season, following the recent dismissal of Liam Rosenior.

McFarlane, a former academy coach who famously secured a draw against Manchester City earlier this year, seems to have unlocked a more aggressive side of Fernandez.

By pushing the midfielder higher into attacking positions, McFarlane has allowed Enzo to record his 13th goal of the season across all competitions.

As the clock ticks toward full-time at Wembley, Chelsea fans will be hoping Fernandez’s “tremendous” display is enough to secure their ticket to the FA Cup final.
