De Zerbi a huge admirer but Liverpool are already in talks to sign ‘incredible’ talent

19 June 2026 at 18:00

Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sign Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace during the summer transfer window.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, they were hoping to sign Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United, but the move seems unlikely. Therefore, they have decided to switch their attention towards the Crystal Palace star.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are also interested in signing Wharton and have already held talks with the player’s representatives in recent weeks. Manchester United have been monitoring him for quite some time. The 21-year-old is one of the most talented young players in the Premier League, and he has all the tools to develop into a future star. There is no doubt that he could prove to be an exceptional acquisition for Tottenham.

Roberto De Zerbi is reportedly a huge admirer of the 21-year-old, and he believes that he has the technical ability and composure to control the tempo of the game and protect the defensive unit from the midfield. He has been hailed as “incredible”.

Crystal Palace will not want to lose a talented player like him, and they are likely to demand a premium. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham is prepared to break the Bank for him.

With Liverpool interested in signing the player, this could be a difficult move for Tottenham. Liverpool will be able to offer him Champions League football, and they have a more ambitious project. The 21-year-old midfielder could be attracted to the idea of joining them. Liverpool needs a specialist defensive midfielder, and Wharton would be the ideal investment. He could form a solid partnership with Ryan Gravenberch at the heart of the Liverpool midfield.

Manchester United need more quality in the middle of the park as well, and it is no surprise that they are keen on the 21-year-old. They are looking to rebuild the midfield this summer, and someone like Wharton could be a game-changer for them.

Alonso could give Chelsea edge over Arsenal & Man United in €50m transfer race

19 June 2026 at 17:30

Alvaro Carreras has been linked with a move away from Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old is a target for Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United. However, Chelsea could have an advantage over the other two clubs in the race for the defender.

Carreras has worked with Xabi Alonso, and the newly appointed Chelsea manager could play a key role in any potential move. According to Sports Boom, Real Madrid wants around €50 million for the defender. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea is prepared to break the Bank for him.

They have sanctioned Marc Cucurella’s departure to Real Madrid, and they need to replace him properly. The 23-year-old defender could be a solid long-term investment. He played 28 league matches for Real Madrid last season and recorded five goal contributions. There is no doubt he has the quality to play in the Premier League. He will look to help defensively and create opportunities going forward.

On the other hand, Arsenal are keeping tabs on the player. They are already well-stocked in the defensive unit, and it would be quite surprising if they decided to invest in the 23-year-old. They should look to sign a quality midfielder and a couple of quality attackers instead.

Finally, Manchester United’s interest in the defender is hardly a surprise. They need a long-term alternative to Luke Shaw, and the 23-year-old Spanish defender could be ideal for them. He is young enough to improve further, and he’s already competing at a high level.

The asking price could be a problem for the Premier League club, and it remains to be seen whether they can convince Real Madrid to be more reasonable with their demands.

With Cucurella joining the club, Carreras could be tempted to move on. He will be hoping to play regularly, and sitting on the bench at Real Madrid will not be a part of the plan.

Tottenham and Man United set sights on €40m gem with Europe’s elite all watching

19 June 2026 at 16:00

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Belgian midfielder Nathan De Cat.

According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United are also interested in signing the 17-year-old Anderlecht midfielder.

The defensive midfielder is highly rated across Europe and has a bright future. He could cost around €40 million this summer. Both Premier League clubs have the financial muscle to pay the asking price, and it remains to be seen whether they follow up on their interest with an official proposal.

Tottenham need a quality defensive midfielder who can protect the back four and control the tempo of the game from the deep. De Cat is an excellent passer from the deep, and he will help recycle possession.

Similarly, Manchester United need a replacement for Casemiro. They have been linked with multiple defensive midfielders in recent weeks.

Even though the 17-year-old might not be ready to start every week in the Premier League, he could still be a useful first player for now. He has all the tools to develop into a future star with the right guidance, and he could prove to be an asset for both clubs. The asking price seems reasonable for a player with his potential, and he could justify the investment in the long term.

Both Tottenham and Manchester United will be exciting destinations for the young midfielder. However, he needs to choose his next club carefully. He should look to join a team with a clear pathway for his development, and he will also need first-team opportunities.

It remains to be seen where he ends up.

Clubs like Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig, and VfB Stuttgart are also keeping tabs on the youngster.

Man United make it clear to Luke Shaw how he can continue his spell at Old Trafford

19 June 2026 at 15:54

Manchester United are reportedly willing to keep Luke Shaw beyond his current contract, but only if the experienced left-back accepts a reduced salary.

According to The Sun, Shaw is entering the final year of his deal at Old Trafford, and his contract does not include an option for an extra season.

The 30-year-old currently earns around £200,000 per week, but United are not expected to offer the same level of wages if fresh talks take place.

That reflects a wider shift in United’s squad-building approach.

The club are trying to avoid carrying big wages for ageing players unless the terms are heavily performance-based or financially sensible.

Loyalty versus long-term planning

Shaw’s situation is not simple. On one hand, United are already looking for a long-term left-back, with the defender set to be 32 before the 2027-28 season begins.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

That makes it logical for the club to plan ahead rather than wait until his decline becomes obvious.

On the other hand, Shaw gave United a major reminder of his value last season. He became only the fifth Man United player in the Premier League era to start all 38 league games in a single campaign.

After years of injury concerns, that level of availability was a big statement.

United’s official website confirmed in 2023 that Shaw signed a deal until 2027, while Sky Sports also covered that contract extension at the time.

Man United could offer Maguire-type deal to Shaw

If United decide to keep Shaw, the club may look at a structure similar to Harry Maguire’s recent renewal, lower guaranteed wages, with bonuses and performance clauses included.

That would be a fair compromise. Shaw remains one of United’s most experienced defenders and can still offer quality when fit, but the club also need to protect themselves financially.

This feels less like a decision about loyalty and more like a test of United’s new discipline.

Shaw may still have a role, but only on terms that suit the club’s future.

Liverpool eye move for Klopp’s long-term target also wanted by Man United

19 June 2026 at 15:30

Liverpool are interested in signing Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram during the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old has been linked with the move away from Juventus this summer, and Manchester United are also interested in him. According to the Italian publication Corriere Dello Sport, Liverpool has reignited their interest in the player.

They wanted to sign the French international while he was in Ligue 1. Jurgen Klopp was keen on signing the player, but the move never really materialised. It seems that Liverpool is now prepared to bring him to the club.

They need more control, physicality and composure in the middle of the park. There is no doubt that the 25-year-old could be a handy option for them. He is at the peak of his career, and this could be the right time for him to take on a new challenge as well. He has the technical attributes and physicality to do well in the Premier League, and he could be a very useful player for Liverpool.

It remains to be seen whether the Premier League outfit can secure a reasonable deal with Juventus.

Meanwhile, Manchester United need more quality in the middle of the park as well. They have secured Champions League qualification for the upcoming campaign, and they need better players at their disposal to do well in England and Europe.

Thuram has shown his quality in France and Italy. He will look to compete for trophies, and moving to the Premier League would be ideal. Liverpool and Manchester United are among the biggest clubs in the world. It remains to be seen where he ends up.

Plan B: Journalist confirms Man United plan in case Mateus Fernandes move fails

19 June 2026 at 15:04

Manchester United may have made Mateus Fernandes one of their main midfield targets, but the club are not putting all their hopes on one deal.

According to Ben Jacobs, United still have other options in mind if they fail to sign the West Ham United midfielder this summer.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

Speaking about the situation, Jacobs said:

“If they don’t get him, I still think there’s legs to the Carlos Baleba situation and keep an eye on Sander Berge, who’s another player that Manchester United have discussed in recent weeks.”

That gives a clear picture of United’s thinking. Fernandes remains the priority, but Old Trafford officials know West Ham’s asking price will not make the deal easy.

The Guardian has reported that West Ham value him at around £80m, despite the club’s relegation and financial pressure.

Why the Brighton option still appeals to Man United

Baleba would be a very different kind of target. The Brighton midfielder is powerful, aggressive and excellent at carrying the ball through pressure.

United have admired him before, and his profile fits the kind of athletic midfield rebuild the club have been trying to complete.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

The problem is Brighton. They rarely sell cheaply, especially when a young player has Premier League experience and long-term upside.

For that reason, Baleba may be just as difficult as Fernandes unless Brighton soften their stance.

Sander Berge offers a safer route

Berge would be the more experienced and possibly more affordable alternative.

The Fulham midfielder may not carry the same excitement as Fernandes or Baleba, but he would bring size, composure and Premier League know-how.

That could appeal to United if they decide they need a reliable midfield option rather than another expensive gamble.

Sky Sports previously reported that United had looked at Berge before his move to Fulham, so the interest is not new.

Man United’s midfield plan looks flexible. Fernandes is the headline target, but if West Ham refuse to lower their price, Baleba and Berge could quickly become serious Plan B options.

Premier League Fixtures 2026/27: Liverpool’s tricky start, Arsenal’s favourable schedule & more

19 June 2026 at 13:10

The 2026/27 Premier League campaign is scheduled to kick off on Saturday, 22 August 2026.

The fixtures for the upcoming Premier League campaign have now been released.

The season will conclude on Sunday, 30 May 2027, with all matches taking place at the same time, in line with tradition.

Compared to the previous season, the league will begin a week later. This adjustment has been made to ease pressure on players amid an increasingly packed international football schedule. The revised start date ensures an 89-day gap following the end of the prior season and allows 33 days after the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The season’s closing fixtures will take place one week before the UEFA Champions League final, which is set for Saturday, 5 June 2027.

Enquiry made: Premier League rivals make move for Man United target Mateus Fernandes

19 June 2026 at 13:00

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer plans are growing more ambitious, with the club reportedly interested in signing West Ham United midfielder Mateus Fernandes as well as Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali.

According to journalist David Ornstein, Spurs are among the clubs keen on Fernandes, with their interest separate from their pursuit of Tonali.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

That is an important detail because it suggests Roberto De Zerbi is not simply choosing between the two midfielders. Instead, he appears to want a complete midfield reset.

De Zerbi’s influence is clear. The Italian coach wants players who can handle the ball under pressure, move possession quickly and give Spurs more control in central areas.

Fernandes fits that idea perfectly. He is young, technically sharp and has already shown he can cope with Premier League intensity despite West Ham’s difficult campaign.

Man United threat makes the race harder

The problem for Tottenham is competition.

Manchester United have also been strongly linked with Fernandes, and Old Trafford interest could make this a much more expensive race.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

West Ham are expected to demand a huge fee, with reports suggesting they value the Portugal midfielder at around £80m.

That figure is high, but it reflects both his potential and the fact that several clubs are watching him.

For Spurs, this is where timing matters. If they move quickly, they may be able to position themselves as a serious alternative to Man United.

If they wait too long, West Ham could use the competition to drive the price even higher.

Sandro Tonali chase shows real ambition

Tottenham’s pursuit of Tonali is even more complicated.

Newcastle do not want to lose one of their key midfielders cheaply, and a deal would likely require a massive fee.

Still, the fact Spurs are looking at both players says a lot about their ambition under De Zerbi. This is not just about adding depth.

It is about changing the entire personality of the midfield. Tottenham’s plan looks bold but difficult.

Fernandes would bring long-term technical quality, while Tonali would add elite-level authority.
If Spurs could land even one of them, it would be a major statement.

From Germany: ‘Very powerful’ Bundesliga star is ‘on the list’ for Manchester United

19 June 2026 at 12:30

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing the South Korean international defender, Kim Min-jae, from Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window.

According to Christian Falk on CF Bayern Insider, the player is ‘on the list’ of the Premier League club, but a move to Italy with Juventus seems more likely.

The 29-year-old struggled for regular opportunities with the German champions last season, and he needs to play more often. He made 25 appearances (1605 minutes) last term and will hope to play every week. He’s at the peak of his career, and the move to Manchester United could be an attractive option for him.

It is no secret that the Red Devils could use more depth in the defensive unit. They have secured Champions League qualification for the upcoming campaign, and they need a deeper squad to do well in Europe and in the league.

The experienced South Korean could be a very handy option for them. He has shown his quality in Italy and Germany. He has the physicality for English football as well. Min-jae has been described as a “very powerful” player in the past.

This could be his final opportunity to join an elite club like Manchester United, and the player will certainly be tempted. It remains to be seen whether Manchester United make an official offer to get the deal done.

Juventus are also looking to sign the player, and a move to Italy seems more likely. He has played in Italy with Napoli, and he knows the league well. He will be able to settle in quickly and make an immediate impact at Juventus.

Manchester United certainly have more financial resources compared to the Italian club, and they have a more ambitious project as well. It remains to be seen what the defender decides.

Man United spot £35m midfield opportunity as Euro giants looks to raise funds

19 June 2026 at 11:34

Manchester United are reportedly keeping a close eye on Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram as the Italian club prepare for a difficult summer after missing out on Champions League qualification.

According to Corriere dello Sport, United are keen on the France international, who could be available for around £35m.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

That price is interesting because it is not often that a midfielder of his age, profile and physical quality becomes available at a relatively reasonable fee.

Juventus are under financial pressure after finishing sixth in Serie A last season, a campaign that Reuters described as part of a major shake-up in Italian football.

Missing out on Champions League revenue has left the club needing to raise funds, and reports claim they must generate a capital gain of around £10m-£11m before the end of June.

The deal makes sense for Man United

For Man United, this could be a smart market opportunity.

The club need more legs, power and technical security in midfield. Thuram offers exactly that.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

He is strong in duels, carries the ball well and can help United become more athletic in central areas.

Juventus signed him from Nice in 2024 on a five-year contract until 2029, as confirmed by the club’s official website.

That means they are not desperate from a contract point of view, but the financial situation changes the picture.

Premier League preference boosts United

Al-Ahli are reportedly willing to meet Juventus’ valuation, but Thuram does not want to leave Europe.

He prefers a move to the Premier League, with United among the clubs interested.

That preference could be crucial. United have missed out on plenty of midfield targets in recent windows, but this one feels realistic if they move quickly.

Juventus’ need for cash and Thuram’s desire to stay in Europe may give United a genuine chance to land a powerful midfield upgrade.

Sources: Man United have five-man attacker shortlist to support Šeško next season

19 June 2026 at 10:01

Manchester United are exploring several centre-forward options as they look to add another striker who can support and compete with Benjamin Šeško next season.

The Slovenian forward joined United from RB Leipzig in a major deal last summer in a package was worth €76.5m plus €8.5m in bonuses.

However, United appear to believe they still need another proven attacking option to complete the rebuild.

Victor Osimhen is viewed as the dream target, sources close to the agents industry have informed CaughtOffside.

The problem is obvious: the Nigerian striker would cost a huge transfer fee, making him the most exciting but also the most difficult option on the list.

Cheaper and smarter alternatives considered

Because of that, United are also looking at more flexible options.

Jean-Philippe Mateta brings Premier League experience, physicality and reliability.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

He may not have the same star power as Osimhen, but he would be a practical signing who already understands English football.

Dusan Vlahovic is another interesting name because his Juventus future remains uncertain.

United could see him as a strong market opportunity.

He has the size, finishing ability and experience to give United a different type of threat.

Young forward Eli Junior Kroupi is also believed to be on the radar as a long-term investment.

He would not arrive as the finished product, but United have been trying to add younger players with high ceilings.

Man United have experienced attacker on their wishlist

Robert Lewandowski is perhaps the most surprising name on the list.

Polish legend has been tipped as a possible short-term option, especially because of the experience he could offer Šeško, as reported by talkSPORT.

United’s striker search looks less like a panic buy and more like a squad-balance decision.

They do not just need another goalscorer. They need the right profile, someone who can lift Šeško, add depth and make the attack more ruthless.

With Šeško largely expected to be the number one choice attacker, the Red Devils need someone who would have no issue in acting as the back-up option at times.

Talks ongoing: Man United have already laid groundwork to sign attacker from London club

19 June 2026 at 09:38

Manchester United have reportedly opened talks to sign West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville, with the club now ready to move seriously for one of the Premier League’s most wanted wide players.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, United have offered the Dutch attacker a contract running until 2031, with an option to extend it until 2032.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

That kind of proposal shows this is not just a short-term squad move. United clearly see him as a player who could become part of their long-term attacking rebuild.

The 24-year-old has been linked with several clubs this summer, especially after West Ham’s relegation increased the chances of key players leaving.

TEAMtalk has reported that United are looking at a potential £50m deal, while also considering a double raid involving midfielder Mateus Fernandes.

Man United need a wide attacker this summer

United’s interest is easy to understand. Their attack needs more pace, unpredictability and one-v-one threat. Summerville offers all of that.

He can play from the left, drive at defenders and stretch teams in transition, qualities United have lacked too often in recent seasons.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

His World Cup involvement with the Netherlands has also helped raise his profile.

Strong performances on that stage could make West Ham’s valuation even firmer.

The Dutchman scored in his team’s first match of the World Cup, catching the attention of top Premier League clubs.

Rashford uncertainty adds extra importance

This move could also be linked to Marcus Rashford’s future.

The Sun has reported that any United move for Summerville may depend on what happens with
Rashford after Barcelona decided not to trigger their permanent option.

The Red Devils need more depth in their attack. After the signing of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko last summer, they are ready to invest more in versatile attackers and Summerville is exactly that.

The Dutchman can play on the left-wing as well as the right-wing, along with that he also has an eye for goal.

‘Hard-working’ Frenchman on Man United radar becomes available for transfer

18 June 2026 at 14:17

Manchester United may have been handed an unexpected transfer opportunity, with Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni reportedly among the players who could leave the Bernabeu this summer.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid could consider selling a midfielder as they look to reshape their squad.

Tchouameni has previously been linked with United, and his name returning to the market would naturally catch attention at Old Trafford.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

United have been searching for more power, athleticism and control in midfield.

With Casemiro’s long-term future uncertain and the club still looking for a more reliable spine, a player of Tchouameni’s profile would make a lot of sense.

Real Madrid’s plans create uncertainty

The situation is not straightforward, though. Tchouameni remains under contract until 2028, and Real Madrid would demand a substantial fee if they allowed him to leave.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

Reports have suggested that Madrid may want funds to pursue another midfielder, with West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes also linked with a move to Spain.

That is where United could see an opening. If Real Madrid decide they need to sell before buying, the French midfielder could become more available than expected.

However, this would still be an expensive deal and not one United can treat casually.

Tchouameni would be a dream signing for Man United

Former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has described Tcouamendi as a ‘hard-working‘ player in the past.

From a Man United perspective, Tchouameni would be close to the ideal modern midfielder.

He can sit deep, break up attacks, carry the ball forward and operate in high-pressure matches.

He is also still young enough to become a long-term leader in midfield.

The major question is whether Real Madrid are genuinely prepared to let him go.

This feels more like a situation for United to monitor than a deal ready to explode. But if Madrid’s rebuild forces a surprise sale, Old Trafford should be watching closely.

Man United make their Marcus Rashford plans clear as Barcelona consider another move

18 June 2026 at 13:23

Manchester United have reportedly made it clear that they do not plan to negotiate another loan deal with Barcelona for Marcus Rashford.

According to ESPN, United have no intention of entering fresh talks with the Spanish champions over a new temporary agreement.

That is a significant development because Barcelona had already passed up the chance to sign Rashford permanently before their deadline expired.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

The original loan included an option worth around €30m, but Barcelona chose not to activate it.

ESPN previously reported that the deadline was June 15, meaning United are now looking beyond the Camp Nou when planning the forward’s future.

Barcelona door appears to be closing

From Man United’s point of view, the decision makes sense. Another loan would only delay the problem.

Rashford is 28, still has value, and United need either a permanent sale or a clear decision on whether he has any future at Old Trafford.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

Barcelona may still admire the player, but their transfer priorities have changed. They decided against paying the agreed fee, and that tells Man United enough.

If the Spanish club were not willing to commit when they had the chance, there is little reason for United to hand them another short-term solution.

World Cup form could help Man United

The timing is interesting because Rashford is currently with England at the World Cup.

He scored in England’s opening win over Croatia, with talkSPORT noting that his performance sparked fresh debate about whether United should reconsider their stance.

That is the difficult part for United. A strong tournament could increase interest and improve his market value, but it could also raise questions about why the club are so determined to move on.

The message from Old Trafford appears firm. Barcelona will not get another easy loan route.

If Rashford leaves United this summer, the club want it to be on terms that finally bring clarity.

Medical already done: Liverpool to finalise first Andoni Iraola signing as rival suitors named

18 June 2026 at 13:20

Liverpool reportedly beat rivals such as Manchester United to the transfer of Osasuna winger Victor Munoz, who has already had his medical with the Reds.

The Spain international is at the World Cup with his country, but that didn’t stop him undergoing medical tests with Liverpool yesterday, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Munoz had notably been linked strongly with Newcastle United, with BBC Sport claiming that the Magpies were in advanced talks over signing the 22-year-old until Liverpool hijacked the deal.

Now it seems the Liverpool Echo are also aware of Man Utd showing an interest in Munoz, along with Bayer Leverkusen and the player’s former club Real Madrid.

What can Victor Munoz bring to Liverpool?

Munoz is not yet that experienced, and hasn’t been particularly prolific for Osasuna, but he seems like a player with a bright future.

He’s also not going to cost LFC a fortune, so this seems like sensible business, judging by the criteria we use in our Transfer Fit rating system

Victor Munoz TOTAL SCORE: 16/25
Transfer fee ****

We’ve scored this a medium level 16/25, with Munoz looking like someone arriving at a good stage of his career in a position Liverpool need to strengthen in.

Blessed with pace and skill out wide, Munoz looks like he could at the very least provide new manager Andoni Iraola with a better squad player option than unconvincing performers like Cody Gakpo and Federico Chiesa.

Still, Liverpool will also surely need to invest big money in a more proven player who can come in straight away and act as the replacement for the departing Mohamed Salah.

While that’s obviously going to be a big ask for almost any player, it seems more like a job for someone with more outstanding numbers and consistent performances at the very highest level, which Munoz just doesn’t quite have under his belt at this moment in time.

Arsenal and Man United learn latest Newcastle United stance on Sandro Tonali

18 June 2026 at 13:13

Arsenal and Manchester United may both admire Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali, but any summer move now looks extremely difficult after the Magpies reportedly placed a massive €120m price tag on him.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, Newcastle are asking €120m to sell the Italy international.

That valuation sends a clear message to interested clubs: Tonali is not being pushed out, and anyone serious about signing him will need to pay elite-level money.

For Arsenal, the attraction is obvious. Mikel Arteta’s side have been looking to add more authority and control in midfield, and Tonali would bring exactly that.

He has Premier League experience, Champions League pedigree, defensive discipline and the passing range needed to play in a title-chasing side.

The reason why Man United want Sandro Tonali

Man United’s interest also makes sense, even if the price makes the deal complicated.

United have spent much of the summer looking for midfield upgrades, and Tonali would represent a major statement signing.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

He is aggressive, technically clean and comfortable playing under pressure, qualities United have lacked too often in big matches.

Reports from ESPN have previously linked Arsenal, Man United and Manchester City with the Newcastle star.

However, recent reports from The Sun suggest United may be cautious because of the huge fee and wage demands.

Arsenal face a mountain to climb in Tonali pursuit

Newcastle are in a strong position. Tonali remains one of their most important players, and his contract situation gives the club no reason to sell cheaply.

Sky Sports reported earlier this year that his deal runs until 2029, with an option for a further year.

That means Arsenal and United face a simple but difficult question: is he worth breaking the bank for?

For Arsenal, he could be the final piece in a title-winning midfield. For United, he could become the leader of a new era.

But at €120m, Newcastle have made sure this will not be a simple transfer battle.

Man United and Tottenham battle for £50m winger impressing at the World Cup

18 June 2026 at 10:05

Manchester United and Tottenham have both made moves to sign West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville, with the Dutch forward emerging as one of the most interesting attacking names on the market.

According to TEAMtalk, both clubs have taken steps towards a potential deal, with West Ham expected to demand around £50m.

That is a big fee, but it reflects the player’s age, profile and the level of interest around him.

Summerville has impressed despite West Ham’s relegation from the Premier League, and that is exactly why bigger clubs are watching.

He brings pace, direct running and the ability to attack defenders one-v-one, qualities both United and Spurs have lacked at different points.

Why Man United are interested

For Man United, this deal makes plenty of sense.

The club are still dealing with uncertainty around Marcus Rashford’s future, and The Sun has reported that United’s interest in Summerville could be linked to their wider plan on the left wing.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

United need more consistency in attack. Summerville would not arrive as a guaranteed superstar, but he fits the kind of player they should be targeting: Premier League-tested, still developing and hungry for a bigger platform.

Tottenham’s need is just as clear

Tottenham’s interest is also understandable. Spurs are reshaping their attack under Roberto De Zerbi and need wide players who can stretch teams, press aggressively and contribute goals.

Summerville’s mobility and technical sharpness would suit a high-energy system.

There is also the World Cup factor. Summerville scored for the Netherlands in their 2-2 draw against Japan and showed his quality.

This feels like a transfer race that could move quickly. West Ham may want £50m, but relegation puts pressure on them.

For United and Tottenham, the question is simple: who moves first with a serious offer?

Former Man U coach linked with Premier League return – to replace his old assistant

Kieran McKenna has departed Ipswich, and one of the men earmarked as a potential replacement is someone who knows him well.

There is already plenty of managerial movement in the Premier League, and we’ve not even reached July yet.

As well as Chelsea and Liverpool changing coaches after poor seasons, you’ve got Ipswich who have seen their manager depart despite having won promotion.

Kieran McKenna is being linked with a move to Fulham, to replace Marco Silva who has gone to Benfica to replace Jose Mourinho, who has gone to Real Madrid to replace Xabi Alonso, and so on…

Solskjaer in line to replace his old assistant

Ipswich are back for a second swing in three years at the Premier League, and according to Goal.com they’re looking to appoint someone who knows the league well. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer used to be McKenna’s boss when they were at Manchester United – now he could be his replacement.

Also linked are former Wolves coach Gary O’Neil and former Liverpool defender Alvaro Arbeloa.

Whatever their decision, the Tractor Boys will want a deal done as soon as possible as they try to prepare for another tough battle in the top flight.

In other news…

One player who won’t be on the move this summer is Julian Alvarez – his club’s president has effectively just slapped a €500m price tag on him.

Senny Mayulu is in demand this summer – but according to most French sources he’s more likely to sign a new contract than depart PSG this summer.

Man.U “want to get” Premier League midfielder to add to Ederson in Carrick’s reboot

17 June 2026 at 17:00

Mateus Fernandes is a target for a few top teams this summer, but it looks like Manchester United are closest to him.

If you enjoy CaughtOffside coverage and want to see more of it, add us as a preferred source on Google to make us a favourite and see more of our content.

Manchester United have already secured Atalanta’s Ederson as their first major signing of this summer. But they’re not stopping there.

Michael Carrick is looking to add more quality to his midfield, and according to Fabrizio Romano United are keen on one of the summer’s most coveted targets.

Fabrizio Romano backs Man U for Fernandes bid

“The contacts are going to continue in the next hours and days for Mateus Fernandes,” declared Romano on his Youtube channel.

“Man Utd are there. Man Utd want to get the player, and are in direct contact with the player’s camp. Fernandes is very keen on a move to Manchester United. The discussions on the player side are going well, both with the player and his camp.”

With other potential suitors distracted by other deals, United could be trying to land this one before anyone else can get involved. Romano insists they won’t rush into anything, even with teams as big as PSG and Real Madrid being mentioned as potential options.

West Ham are said to be holding out for a fee close to £80m.

Harry Maguire explains his theory on why quiet Chelsea centre-back was called up ahead of him

17 June 2026 at 16:30

Trevoh Chalobah has been called up to the England squad, while Harry Maguire has remained out of the picture.

If you enjoy CaughtOffside coverage and want to see more of it, add us as a preferred source on Google to make us a favourite and see more of our content.

After years as a key figure for Gareth Southgate’s England team, most people were expecting Harry Maguire to get a callup for England this summer. He didn’t get one.

Then they will have been expecting him to get a callup to replace the injured Tino Livramento last week. He didn’t get that either.

The defender has explained why he thought Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah was preferred to him or to Trent Alexander-Arnold as an emergency callup.

No fuss Chalobah gets the nod

“When someone drops out like that, I do believe that as a squad, you need to call someone up with the minimum of fuss. No real media attention to it, no disruption to the camp,” Maguire said while working as a pundit for the Rest is Football.

“I don’t think Trent would have ever been called up; when it’s a big game, all the questions would have been about him. If he called me up, it would be about me,” the experienced England defender added.

“Luke Shaw is the same; we’ve been to previous tournaments, we play for big clubs. But congratulations to Trevoh, I hope he does well and has an impact on the squad,” he summarised, on Chalobah’s addition.

Chalobah is really the perfect player for these circumstances, then. He’s about as low profile as an England player could be. He’s not likely to play, he’s not going to cause trouble, he’s not going to grab headlines.

He’s going to go and work hard, bring some positive energy and be ready if the team need to call on him. It’s a great reward for some impressively consistent years in the Premier League.

In other news…

Hayden Hackney has been a big name in the Championship for a while – it looks like this year could be the moment he gets his Premier League move.

Sources: Arsenal chief Berta pursuing transfer “strongly” as deal looks “positive”

17 June 2026 at 13:58

The Ayyoub Bouaddi transfer story is emerging as one of the hottest potential deals of the summer, with Lille’s stance and the player’s own preferences making the race for his signature increasingly complex.

Bouaddi has already caught the eye at the World Cup 2026 as he ran the show from midfield for Morocco in their impressive 1-1 draw against Brazil in their opening group game.

Since then, speculation linking the teenager with Arsenal has increased, and I’ve received some information that might be of interest.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

Arsenal have indeed held initial talks with those close to Bouaddi, with Andrea Berta moving some time ago to try to position the Gunners as early favourites for this deal.

Ayyoub Bouaddi transfer suitors

Bouaddi is, however, also a target for Chelsea, as reported before, and sources have also mentioned Liverpool, Manchester United, and, as has been widely reported elsewhere, Paris Saint-Germain.

Lille are understood to be open to a sale and have long expected that they could lose the 18-year-old this summer, with strong performances at the World Cup giving them an opportunity to raise their asking price.

Sources with ties to the agents industry tell me that Lille could be looking for around £70-80m, but that may not be settled just yet as formal club-to-club negotiations have not started at the time of writing.

There’s also some truth to the widely-reported claim that Lille are keen to avoid selling Bouaddi to Ligue 1 rivals PSG, but sources close to the French champions insist that won’t put them off pursuing the deal for such a highly-rated talent, who is seen as a perfect stylistic fit for Luis Enrique’s project.

How Arsenal are approaching Ayyoub Bouaddi deal

Berta has done a lot of work on this potential deal for Arsenal, but it’s also a big part of his strategy to reach an agreement on personal terms with a number of targets before deciding on proceeding with club-to-club contacts.

I’m reliably told that, for now, Arsenal do not yet have a full agreement on personal terms with Bouaddi, even if there’s the sense that initial talks have been positive.

Arsenal have been pursuing the Bouaddi deal strongly,” one source said. “No agreement on personal terms yet, but Berta and his team are feeling positive. I’d expect Bouaddi to be the top target, but work has also been done on Manu Kone, Sandro Tonali, and others.”

So, although the links with Arsenal are strongest at the moment, I wouldn’t rule out the likes of Chelsea and PSG just yet, as Bouaddi is going to continue to be seen as hot property on the market.

AFC will also keep other options open, so this might not be the speediest deal, as we’ll have to see how things progress with other targets as well.

Talks held: Man United working on signing Premier League duo for under £140m

Manchester United have reportedly started work on a double transfer raid for West Ham United stars Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville.

The Red Devils have identified the Hammers duo as key targets and some discussions already seem to have taken place.

However, West Ham want as much as £140m for the pair, while Man Utd are aiming to pay less than that, according to the Daily Mail.

Fernandes and Summerville look like they could go a long way to strengthening Michael Carrick’s United squad, but it remains to be seen if they’d really represent good value for money for £140m.

Manchester United looking to raid West Ham

It makes sense that West Ham are facing a fight to keep some of their star names after their relegation from the Premier League to the Championship.

Fernandes looked particularly impressive for the east Londoners despite their disappointing campaign, and the Times recently mentioned that he could cost around £80m as United look to be the favourites for his signature.

That perhaps means West Ham are looking for £60m for Summerville, but that doesn’t necessarily look like great value for money.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

While Fernandes has really stood out as an elite young talent, Summerville only got seven goals and two assists from out wide in the season just gone – far from the kind of numbers that would justify a £60m fee.

It could be that the Dutchman would be able to do more in a stronger team with better players around him, but it also looks like a gamble for a position MUFC aren’t even that desperate to strengthen in.

United signed a whole new front three last summer by bringing in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko, so they’d do well to focus their efforts elsewhere instead of spending big money on someone who wouldn’t necessarily even get into their starting XI on a regular basis.

Chelsea want ex-player back but Man United could scupper their plans

16 June 2026 at 23:00

Chelsea have decided to sell Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid, and they are plotting a move for Lewis Hall as his replacement.

The 21-year-old left Chelsea to join Newcastle United in 2023, and he has been a key player for them. Chelsea are hoping to bring him back to the club.

Chelsea want to sign Lewis Hall

According to Sports Boom, they are now plotting an ambitious move to bring the player back, and it remains to be seen whether they can convince Newcastle. The Magpies will not want to sell the 21-year-old easily. He has been a key player for them.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are also monitoring his situation. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.

Chelsea needs to properly replace Cucurella, and signing one of the Premier League’s best young fullbacks would be a wise decision. The decision to sell Hall to Newcastle was a mistake, and Chelsea are looking to rectify it. The young defender has a long-term contract with Newcastle, and they will have to pay a premium in order to convince the Magpies.

Man United also keen on Hall

Manchester United are also looking for a younger alternative to Luke Shaw, and they have the resources to pay a premium. It will be interesting to see which of the two clubs can get the deal done.

Hall could be attracted to the idea of joining some of the biggest clubs in the country. Manchester United will be able to offer him Champions League football next season, and that could give them an edge in the transfer race. Chelsea have no European football on offer, but Hall could be tempted to return to his club, and he might feel that he has unfinished business at the club.

Euro giants open door to exit as Liverpool & Man United circle for €50m Frenchman

16 June 2026 at 20:00

Khephren Thuram has been linked with a move away from Juventus.

The Italian club would be willing to sanction his departure for a fee of around €45-50 million this summer.

Clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United are keeping tabs on his situation. According to a report from Italian publication Tuttosport, clubs from Saudi Arabia are interested in the central midfielder, but he would only join a top Premier League club

The development will be a huge boost for Liverpool and Manchester United. They need more physicality, drive and control in the middle of the park. The French midfielder could be an excellent acquisition. He will help out defensively and drive the team forward. He has the physicality and technical attributes for English football as well. Thuram picked up four goals and five assists last season.

Alexis Mac Allister has been underwhelming for Liverpool, and they need more quality in the middle of the park. Signing the 25-year-old Juventus midfielder could be a wise decision. He has been linked with a move to England in the past, and it remains to be seen whether Liverpool is prepared to break the Bank for him.

Similarly, Manchester United need more control in the midfield. They have secured a return to the Champions League, and they need to improve their team if they want to match up to the top clubs. Thuram will not only help them control games better but also help out defensively.

Both clubs have the financial resources to pay around €50 million for the Frenchman, and it will be interesting to see what they decide.

The midfielder will certainly look to sort out his future quickly so that he can focus on his football. He has shown his quality in France with OGC Nice and in Italy with Juventus. It seems that he could be starting another chapter in his career soon.

Marcus Rashford opens door to Manchester United stay after Barcelona clause expires

16 June 2026 at 17:42

England forward Marcus Rashford is no doubt focusing on the World Cup, as his side prepares to face Croatia in their opening game in the United States. When he returns from the Americas, he will have to deal with his future, which remains shrouded in uncertainty.

The 28-year-old will not have failed to notice that Barcelona have allowed their €30m buy option to expire, meaning he is on track to begin preseason at Old Trafford. Rashford has expressed a desire to stay at Barcelona, and Hansi Flick reportedly was keen on keeping him too, but after the signing of Anthony Gordon, the Blaugrana seem less certain they want to move for him. Nevertheless, they are yet to rule it out entirely, but Rashford is not seen as a priority.

As reported by The Athletic, Rashford would prefer to remain at Manchester United this summer, than join any other sides in the Premier League. Currently he has a £40m release clause that any side can activate, barring Liverpool and Manchester City, and other Premier League sides have expressed interest in him – former loan side Aston Villa have been linked to him on a number of occasions since. Rashford has two years left on his United deal, and it seemed he would be on the move again this summer, but for the first time, it has been suggested he would stay at the club.

Nevertheless, Rashford is not on the agenda at Old Trafford. MEN say that manager Michael Carrick was keen to reintegrate Rashford, but after holding talks with the leadership group, there are no plans to bring him back into the fold. It seems Manchester United will pursue a permanent sale for Rashford, be it to Barcelona or not.

Just in: £50m left-wing option eyed by Man United after impressive goal in the World Cup

16 June 2026 at 13:51

Manchester United are reportedly considering a summer move for West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville as they continue to search for more threat and balance on the left side of attack.

According to The Athletic, the 24-year-old is high on United’s list of left-wing options after an impressive season with West Ham, despite the Hammers suffering relegation from the Premier League.

Reports from The Sun have also claimed United are showing interest in the Netherlands international as part of a wider summer rebuild.

Summerville would be an interesting profile for United. He is quick, direct, comfortable taking defenders on and capable of playing with real intensity in transition.

That is exactly the type of winger United have lacked at times, especially when their attack has looked too predictable.

West Ham’s situation could open the door

The big question is price. West Ham are expected to demand around £50m, which is still a significant fee.

However, their relegation could change the dynamics of the deal.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

West Ham are facing financial pressure and may need to raise funds through player sales.

That could give United hope of negotiating, even if the Hammers start with a firm valuation.

Summerville only joined West Ham from Leeds United in 2024, after previously being named Championship Player of the Season.

Sky Sports covered West Ham’s early interest before that move, and his development since then has only made him more attractive.

Man United may have to pay more due to the World Cup

United may need to move carefully, because Summerville is currently with the Netherlands at the World Cup.

If he performs well on that stage, West Ham’s asking price could rise quickly.

Summerville scored a stunning goal in his team’s first match of the World Cup, a left-footed strike against Japan.

PSG are also alert to his situation following his strong World Cup start.

For Man United, this feels like a deal worth exploring. The price is high, but the fit is obvious.

If United want more pace, width and unpredictability, Summerville could be one of the smarter attacking moves available this summer.

Journo confirms Man United and Arsenal midfield target open to shock move to Tottenham

16 June 2026 at 13:14

Tottenham have reportedly entered the race for Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali, in what would be one of the boldest moves of the summer window.

According to journalist Matteo Moretto, Spurs are showing serious interest in the Italy international, with Roberto De Zerbi pushing for the club to explore a deal.

The Tottenham boss is believed to see Tonali as a player who could become central to his new project in north London.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

That is what makes this story so interesting. Tottenham are not simply looking for another midfield option.

They want a leader, someone capable of setting the tempo, controlling matches and giving De Zerbi’s team a stronger identity.

Tottenham want to make a statement signing

De Zerbi has already made it clear that he is committed to Tottenham’s rebuild, with TNT Sports reporting earlier this year that he planned to stay at the club “no matter what.”

Now, Spurs appear ready to back him with an ambitious transfer push.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

Tonali would fit the idea perfectly. He brings intensity, passing range, defensive work rate and Premier League experience.

He is also someone De Zerbi knows well from Italian football circles, which may explain why Tottenham are so keen.

Man City and Man United interest makes race difficult

The challenge is obvious: Tottenham are not alone. Manchester City have also been linked with Tonali, while Manchester United have previously explored the situation.

Reports from ESPN have already claimed several Premier League giants have monitored the Newcastle star, including Arsenal.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are unlikely to make any sale easy. The Sun reports that Tonali remains a key player and would command a huge fee.

Still, Tottenham’s interest sends a clear message. If De Zerbi wants the keys to his new project handed to a proven elite midfielder, Spurs may be ready to test Newcastle’s resolve.

Amorim wants to rescue Man United outcast after disastrous Old Trafford spell

16 June 2026 at 12:21

Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte has reportedly been offered to AC Milan, although there are no active talks between the clubs at this stage.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, the Uruguay international has been proposed to the Italian side, with the connection to Ruben Amorim making the situation more interesting.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

Amorim knows Ugarte well from their time together at Sporting CP, and that relationship could give Milan extra insight if they decide to explore the deal further.

The move is still only at the proposal stage, so it would be wrong to describe it as advanced.

However, it does feel like one to watch, especially with United expected to reshape their midfield this summer.

Sky Sports recently reported that Ugarte is one of the players expected to leave Old Trafford.

Amorim connection could help AC Milan

Ugarte joined Man United from Paris Saint-Germain in 2024, with the Premier League confirming he signed a five-year deal with the option of another year.

The move was meant to give United a long-term ball-winner in midfield, but things have not fully worked out as planned.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

That is why Milan could be an interesting destination. Amorim has now agreed to become AC Milan head coach, according to The Guardian, and he previously trusted Ugarte at Sporting.

If Milan want a combative, disciplined midfielder who already understands Amorim’s demands, the idea makes sense.

Man United are looking to offload Ugarte

The biggest question is money. United paid a significant fee to sign Ugarte, so they may not want to accept a major loss unless they need to create space quickly.

For Milan, this would only make sense at the right price or on a creative structure, possibly a loan with an option or obligation.

There is no negotiation yet, just an opportunity placed on the table.

Still, with United open to midfield changes and Milan entering a new Amorim era, this proposal could develop if all sides see value in it.

Man United gain transfer edge on midfielder as Arsenal and Real Madrid step back

16 June 2026 at 09:41

Manchester United appear to have gained a major advantage in the race for West Ham United midfielder Mateus Fernandes, with Real Madrid and Arsenal now reportedly expecting the Red Devils to complete the deal.

According to The Sun, both Madrid and Arsenal are starting to look at alternative targets because they believe United are in the strongest position to land the 21-year-old Portugal international.

That is a significant development, especially given how much competition there has been around the midfielder in recent weeks.

West Ham are still demanding around £80m, but United are hoping to negotiate that figure down after the Hammers’ relegation from the Premier League.

That could be the key factor in the deal. West Ham may not want to lose one of their best young players, but their financial situation and Championship status could make a big sale difficult to ignore.

Why Fernandes fits the rebuild at Man United

For Man United, Fernandes looks like exactly the type of midfielder they have been trying to add.

He is young, technically secure, energetic and already has Premier League experience.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

United have needed more control and mobility in midfield for some time, and Fernandes could offer both.

The move would also fit with United’s wider rebuild. The club have already agreed a deal for Atalanta midfielder Éderson, with Sky Sports reporting the fee at £34m plus add-ons.

Adding Fernandes alongside him would give United a very different midfield look going into next season.

Arsenal and Madrid turning elsewhere

Arsenal’s decision to look elsewhere makes sense. Mikel Arteta already has several midfield options and may prefer a different profile or better-value deal.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, are still assessing what type of midfielder they want, with other names also being discussed.

Elliot Anderson’s expected move to Manchester City has also changed the market.

The Guardian reported that City have already made huge bids for the Nottingham Forest midfielder, making him an unrealistic option for United.

For now, Fernandes feels like United’s clearest route to a major midfield upgrade. The price remains high, but the path looks more open than before.

Sources: Spanish winger ready to reject Man United & Liverpool move for PL rivals

16 June 2026 at 09:26

Newcastle United appear to have beaten Manchester United and Liverpool to the front of the queue for Osasuna winger Víctor Muñoz, with the Spanish attacker convinced by the project at St James’ Park.

Newcastle are in advanced talks over a deal worth around €35m plus €5m in bonuses, sources close to the agents industry have informed CaughtOffside.

That package would take the total value close to Osasuna’s €40m asking price and could make him one of the club’s most exciting attacking signings of the summer.

For Man United and Liverpool, this is a frustrating setback. Both clubs had been linked with the 22-year-old, but Newcastle have offered something more convincing, a clear role, regular minutes and a direct pathway into Eddie Howe’s attacking plans.

Why Man United and Liverpool lost the race

Muñoz’s priority has always been game time, and that is where Newcastle seem to have made the strongest case.

With Anthony Gordon’s future uncertain, there is a clear opening on the wing, and Newcastle have moved quickly to show the player he would not simply be another squad option.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

Reports from AS also suggest Muñoz has prioritised continuity and minutes, despite interest from clubs such as Manchester United, Liverpool and Barcelona.

That makes this feel less like a bidding-war defeat and more like a sporting rejection for United and Liverpool.

Real Madrid are still involved

Real Madrid remain part of the story because of the clauses they kept when selling Muñoz to Osasuna.

Madrid hold a low buy-back option, while several reports also point to a major sell-on clause.

Madrid are not expected to bring him back this summer, but they are still set to profit from any Newcastle deal.

CaughtOffside has also reported that Newcastle are optimistic about completing the transfer quickly.

For Newcastle, this would be a statement signing. For Man United and Liverpool, it is another reminder that Newcastle’s project now has serious pulling power.

Sources rule out Chelsea from chasing top midfielder wanted by Man U and Arsenal

15 June 2026 at 16:07

Chelsea are being linked with a number of targets this summer – but sources have ruled them out of the chase for one Premier League star.

If you enjoy CaughtOffside coverage and want to see more of it, add us as a preferred source on Google to make us a favourite and see more of our content.

The World Cup is underway, and the attention of the football world is focused there, but in the background transfers are starting to happen too.

Chelsea are expected to be busy, following the appointment of Xabi Alonso as manager. They have already sold Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid, but moves the other way are coming too as the club prepare to try and battle back into the Champions League.

Chelsea ruled out of chase for rising Premier League star

A name being mentioned in connection with the Blues as well as a number of other Premier League sides is Alex Scott of Bournemouth.

An all action number 8, his energy was a huge part of Andoni Iraola’s successful side. But Bobby Vincent’s piece for Football.London looking at the Blues’ plans for the summer makes it clear that he’s not on the list:

“Alex Scott’s name was mentioned online towards the back end of last season but sources close to the club dismissed the links with the highly-rated Bournemouth midfielder,” Vincent wrote.

With Chelsea out of the running, teams like Spurs, Man United and Arsenal should all have a clearer run at the rising star. It’s not clear what Chelsea’s plans are if Scott is not on the cards. They need a reliable midfielder, and that’s especially true if Enzo Fernandez leaves the club, a move which looks likely at this point.

Manchester United to save millions as former manager Ruben Amorim finds next job

15 June 2026 at 14:45

Former Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim saw his credit take a hit after a difficult spell at Old Trafford, in which he never truly managed to connect with the fans, and couldn’t find a balance between his intentions on the tactics board and the players he had on the pitch. Amorim will be landing on his feet though, with his next spot coming at one of Europe’s most vaunted clubs.

The Portuguese manager has been out of work since being relieved of his duties in January, when he was replaced by Michael Carrick on an interim basis. Amorim was tipped to be one of the coaches that Benfica pursued this summer in their bid to replace Jose Mourinho, but he will instead be heading to Serie A.

As reported by Matteo Moretto, Amorim will become the new coach of AC Milan this summer. The Rossoneri decided not to continue with Max Allegri after missing out on Champions League football this season, and have plumped for the 41-year-old to freshen things up at San Siro. The deal will run for two years with an option for a third.

Amorim move could save Manchester United millions

The move will be welcomed at Old Trafford, and not just out of good grace. The Telegraph say that United had budgeted a £15.9m compensation package for Amorim and his staff. Yet the fact that Amorim will be taking on a new job will significantly reduce the amount they have to pay.

Amorim seems like a distant memory at Old Trafford this summer, but it will be interesting to see if he can prove that it was a bad fit at United.

Arsenal and Man City face £100m battle to sign player on Man United radar

15 June 2026 at 14:02

Arsenal and Manchester City are both interested in signing Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali this summer, with the Magpies reportedly demanding around £100m before considering a sale.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, both clubs are watching the Italy international closely.

Newcastle’s stance, however, is firm. They do not want to lose one of their most important midfielders unless a huge offer arrives.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

That position is easy to understand. Tonali joined Newcastle from AC Milan in 2023.

He has since become a key part of Newcastle’s midfield, bringing control, energy and big-game experience.

Why Arsenal and City are tempted

For Arsenal, Tonali would be a serious statement signing.

Mikel Arteta already has a strong midfield, but the Italian would add another level of composure, aggression and European pedigree.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

He can dictate tempo, recover possession and carry the ball forward, which makes him a natural fit for a team trying to compete on every front.

Man City’s interest also makes sense. With Pep Guardiola’s side always looking for technical security in midfield, Tonali has the style and intelligence to slot into a possession-heavy system.

His ability to play as a deep controller or a more advanced midfielder would give City valuable flexibility.

Newcastle United have a major decision to make

The biggest issue for both clubs is Newcastle’s negotiating position.

Sky Sports reported earlier this year that Tonali’s contract has been extended until 2029, with an option for a further year. That means Newcastle are under no pressure to sell cheaply.

Newcastle remain in a strong position over any potential exit.

For Arsenal and City, the interest is understandable. But unless either club is ready to go close to Newcastle’s £100m demand, this transfer may be very difficult to pull off.

Manchester United still lead race as Chelsea make surprise transfer contact with left-back

15 June 2026 at 13:49

Manchester United are still believed to be leading the race for Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall, despite Chelsea reportedly making contact over a possible move.

According to a source on X, Chelsea have reached out regarding the 21-year-old, but the Blues would need a lot of convincing before pushing seriously for a deal.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

That is understandable. Hall came through Chelsea’s academy before leaving for Newcastle, and bringing him back would be an expensive and slightly awkward move after letting him go.

Man United, however, appear to have a clearer need. Sky Sports recently reported that Manchester United are monitoring Hall and Antonee Robinson as possible left-back options, with Luke Shaw currently the only senior natural left-back at Old Trafford.

Chelsea interest adds a twist

Chelsea’s contact makes the situation more interesting, but it does not necessarily mean they are ready to move.

The club confirmed Hall’s permanent transfer to Newcastle in 2024 on their official website, after his loan spell at St James’ Park.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

That decision looked sensible at the time, but Hall’s development has since made him one of the more exciting young full-backs in the Premier League.

Newcastle’s official profile describes him as a versatile defender who completed his permanent move from Chelsea in July 2024.

For Chelsea, the issue is whether it makes financial and sporting sense to revisit a player they recently sold.

Unless they are fully convinced, this feels more like early contact than a serious challenge to United.

Newcastle United hold the power

Newcastle are not under pressure to sell cheaply. Hall is young, homegrown, improving and under long-term control, so any deal would likely require a major offer.

Hall would be open to Man United, which could be important if the race develops further.

For now, United still look best placed. Chelsea may have entered the conversation, but Man United’s need is clearer, their interest appears stronger, and Hall fits exactly the type of long-term left-back profile they are searching for.

Premier League attacker targeted by Arsenal & Man United available for more than £50m

15 June 2026 at 10:58

Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United are all reportedly keeping tabs on Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye after his impressive Premier League campaign.

According to Daily Mail, the Senegal international has attracted attention from several top clubs, with Everton expected to demand more than £50m before considering a sale.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

That stance is understandable. Ndiaye has become one of Everton’s most exciting attacking players, offering flair, energy and versatility across the frontline.

He can play wide, drift inside as a creator, or operate closer to the striker, which makes him attractive to clubs looking for flexible attacking depth.

Arsenal and Man United could be tempted to move

For Arsenal, Ndiaye would offer another direct option in attack.

Mikel Arteta already has quality in wide areas, but the Gunners have often looked for more unpredictability and rotation behind Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

Ndiaye’s ability to beat players and carry the ball in tight spaces could make him an interesting alternative.

Man United’s interest also makes sense. FourFourTwo recently reported that United are considering attacking reinforcements, with Ndiaye among the names on their radar.

The Red Devils need more pace, creativity and reliability in wide positions, especially if more attacking exits happen this summer.

Manchester City, meanwhile, rarely ignore Premier League players with technical quality and tactical flexibility.

Ndiaye may not be their biggest-name target, but he fits the profile of a player who could develop further in a more dominant attacking system.

World Cup performance could raise the price

Everton signed Ndiaye from Marseille in 2024 on a five-year deal. That long contract gives them real control.

With Senegal competing at the World Cup, Everton may also be watching closely. If Ndiaye performs well on the international stage, his value could rise quickly.

Transfermarkt currently values him at around €55m, but Everton may believe a strong tournament justifies an even higher asking price.

For now, Arsenal, City and United are monitoring but Everton are in no mood to sell cheaply.

Sources: Arsenal and Man United battling European clubs for 19 G/A attacking midfielder

Arsenal and Manchester United could face a major challenge if they decide to push seriously for Morgan Gibbs-White this summer, with Nottingham Forest determined to keep hold of one of their most important players.

The England playmaker has become one of the most talked-about names of the window after an outstanding 2025/26 campaign.

Sources close to the agents industry informed CaughtOffside that Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham have all shown interest, while European clubs are also monitoring the situation.

For Arsenal, the attraction is obvious. Mikel Arteta’s side have been looking for more creativity and goal threat between the lines, and Gibbs-White would offer something different to their current midfield and attacking options.

He is direct, aggressive, technically sharp and comfortable carrying the ball into dangerous areas.

Why Man United are closely watching Gibbs-White

Man United’s interest also makes sense. United need more players who can create chances, press with energy and deliver end product from midfield.

With the club still trying to reshape its attack and midfield, Gibbs-White would fit the profile of a Premier League-proven player ready to make an immediate impact.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

The problem for both Arsenal and United is Forest’s stance. After Elliot Anderson’s expected big-money exit, Forest do not want to lose another key player in the same window.

Forest are preparing to stand firm, while Sky Sports has also reported that Arsenal have him on their shortlist.

Nottingham Forest are in a strong position

Gibbs-White’s numbers explain why Forest are being so firm.

FotMob lists him with 15 goals and four assists in the 2025/26 Premier League season, while Transfermarkt values him at around €70m and shows his contract running until 2028.

That means Forest have no reason to sell cheaply. Arsenal and Man United may both admire him, but unless either club is ready to pay a huge fee, this could become one of the toughest attacking-midfield deals of the summer.

Gibbs-White was named April 2026 Player of the Month in the Premier League after four goals and one assist in just three matches.

Chelsea make contact with Man United target as they plot surprise transfer hijack – report

15 June 2026 at 02:29

Chelsea have reportedly made contact with Newcastle to sign Lewis Hall as per the latest from a prominent ITK on X.

The 21-year-old left-back has experienced a meteoric rise since trading Stamford Bridge for St James’ Park, drawing heavy structural interest from several Premier League heavyweights ahead of the summer transfer window.

Chelsea join race to sign Lewis Hall

According to updates shared by prominent insider on X, Chelsea have formally re-entered the picture by initiating contact regarding Hall.

The dynamic defender originally left West London for Newcastle in a deal worth up to £35 million, but his parent academy club is now keeping close tabs on his situation.

However, a dramatic return to Stamford Bridge is far from a formality. The report notes that Chelsea’s hierarchy will still “need a lot of convincing” before committing to a definitive, high-stakes bid to re-sign the talented fullback.

The ITK posted the following:

“Exclusive: We can confirm that @ChelseaFC have contacted Manchester United target Lewis Hall. Chelsea will need a lot of convincing to sign the Newcastle United player. Manchester United are still leading the race to sign the player.”

Man United favourites to sign Hall

Despite Chelsea checking in on their former academy graduate, Manchester United remain the definitive frontrunners in the battle for his signature.

The Red Devils have long identified the £50 million-rated defender as a vital, long-term successor to Luke Shaw on the left side of their backline.

Old Trafford officials have reportedly kept active dialogue alive with the player’s camp over recent days.

Hall is understood to be highly admired by United’s recruitment department, fitting the exact profile of young, elite Premier League talent INEOS wishes to sign.

With Newcastle facing the reality of a season without European football, temptation is building for the youngster to explore his options.

While Chelsea retain a watching brief, all indicators suggest Old Trafford remains Hall’s most likely destination if a summer move materialises.

Watch: Liverpool and Man Utd-linked defender powers home towering header for Germany vs Curaçao

14 June 2026 at 22:00

Germany have restored their lead against Curacao courtesy of a goal from Nico Schlotterbeck.

His Borussia Dortmund teammate Felix Nmecha gave his side an early lead inside just six minutes.

However, the World Cup debutants responded back not too long after. In the 21st minute, the Caribbean side stunned the four-time world champions.

Livano Comenencia smashed home an equaliser, making history with Curaçao’s first-ever goal at a World Cup finals.

But in the 38th minute, the 6 ft 3 in defender Nico Schlotterbeck rose above the defence, connecting with a towering header to make it 2-1 from the corner.

On the cusp of halftime, the drama intensified as Nmecha was upended in the box. Kai Havertz stepped up in the fourth minute of stoppage time, coolly rolling the penalty into the bottom left corner to stretch the lead to 3-1.

Liverpool have been linked with Nico Schlotterbeck as they eye Van Dijk replacement

Schlotterbeck’s crucial defensive and attacking display will only fuel the intense transfer market speculation surrounding his future.

Liverpool have been heavily linked with the 26-year-old as they intensely scout a long-term successor for veteran captain Virgil van Dijk.

The Dutchman turns 35 this year, with his current contract set to expire in 2027. And Schlotterbeck’s combination of left-footed distribution and aerial dominance makes him the ideal Anfield candidate.

Man United are also interested in the German defender

The Merseyside outfit will face a fierce battle for his signature, as Manchester United are also reported to be highly interested in the center-back.

Michael Carrick is eager to secure an elite, ball-playing defender to anchor their defensive rebuild and has reportedly identified him as an ideal candidate.

Sky Sports’ journalist Florian Plettenberg has recently confirmed United’s interest in the player, stating that if the player doesn’t renew with Dortmund, he will be available for in the summer for €30m-35m (£26-31m).

With the World Cup spotlight firmly on him, Schlotterbeck’s stock is set to skyrocket further as the second half gets underway.

Man United and Man City to battle it out for £70 million-rated Premier League star

14 June 2026 at 15:00

Manchester City, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on Everton defensive mainstay Jarrad Branthwaite.

Jarrad Branthwaite has established himself as one of the best young defenders in the Premier League with his consistent performances for Everton, resulting in significant interest in his services.

According to a report from The Daily Mail, Manchester City, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are keen on signing the English international. All three clubs are keeping a close eye on him and could launch a move in the summer if any of their key defenders end up leaving.

Jarrard Branthwaite could leave for £70 million

While the Toffees would love to have him around for years to come, they would be open to sanctioning his departure for £70 million. On the back of an impressive loan spell at PSV Eindhoven during the 2022/23 season, he got an extended run in the Everton first team and hasn’t looked back since.

However, things haven’t been that great for him over the last 12 months. He could only make 10 appearances during the 2025/26 season, as a hamstring injury kept him on the sidelines. Despite his recent injury struggles, the interest in his services remains sky-high.

European giants could battle it out for Branthwaite

Manchester United, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich are three clubs that are interested in his services. With Kim Min-jae’s future uncertain, the German giants consider him an ideal replacement.

Meanwhile, he has been on United’s wishlist for a long-time. With Harry Maguire in the final phase of his career and Matthijs de Ligt struggling to stay fit, investing in the 23-year-old would make a lot of sense.

Even City have a long-standing interest in his services and could make a move if Ruben Dias leaves the club. While all three clubs are monitoring him and would love to add him to their ranks, it remains to be seen whether they would be willing to meet Everton’s demands.

Liverpool overtake Man United in race for €50m breakout forward

14 June 2026 at 14:00

Liverpool are leading the race for the signature of Aston Villa and Manchester United attacking target Bazoumana Toure.

Bazoumana Toure enjoyed an impressive campaign in the Bundesliga last time out. He is considered one of the most exciting talents in Germany, and a number of clubs are now keen on prising him away from TSG Hoffenheim.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Liverpool have leapfrogged Manchester United and Aston Villa in their pursuit of the signature of the Ivorian international. He is valued at around €40-50 million, which shouldn’t be a problem for any of the interested English clubs.

Bazoumana Toure is a top target for Liverpool

Toure joined the German outfit at the start of 2025 and has since established himself as a key figure in the team. He was one of their best players last season, as he finished with five goals and 12 assists in his 30 league outings.

The 20-year-old is equally effective on either flank. While he is clinical in the final third, Toure loves creating chances for those around him. He is a complete package in the sense that he is lightning quick, can create, dribble, and score.

His immense potential has attracted interest from several English clubs. Liverpool are one of the clubs that have expressed interest in the youngster. They struggled in wide areas last season, and with Mohamed Salah leaving, they seek more quality on the flanks.

The Reds could look to use Cody Gakpo more centrally and deploy the 20-year-old on the left flank, or he could even replace Salah on the right. He is certainly an interesting option for the Merseyside club, who are looking to build for the future.

Manchester United and Aston Villa are also keen on Toure

They are already ahead of Manchester United and Aston Villa, who are also keen on his signature. The clubs are set to feature in the Champions League next season and are looking to add depth in multiple positions, including out wide on the flanks.

The Red Devils are looking for more competition for their current options, while Villa see him as a potential replacement for Jadon Sancho, who is unlikely to stay at the club beyond his loan spell.

Sources: €55m Chelsea star feels his time is “coming to an end”, Man United ready to sign him

14 June 2026 at 09:35

Chelsea left‑back Marc Cucurella’s future has become one of the most debated topics of the summer transfer window.

Sources have informed CaughtOffside that the Spanish defender believes his time at Stamford Bridge is “coming to an end”, while Europe’s elite clubs continue to monitor the situation closely.

Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Real Madrid and Manchester United remain interested, though the process is complicated by the player’s stance and Chelsea’s financial expectations.

Where will Marc Cucurella end up?

Barcelona would like to bring Cucurella back, but the club’s financial restrictions and concerns over registration guarantees weaken their chances. Atlético Madrid has shown more concrete interest, preparing to open formal talks with Chelsea. Sources suggest Atleti would prioritise a loan deal with a purchase option, though no official bid has yet been made and patience is required. Real Madrid are also keeping tabs, but Cucurella’s priority is understood to be a return to Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Manchester United and Manchester City are closely following developments.

Chelsea’s position is clear: the club has accepted Cucurella’s desire to leave and is ready to sanction a move if the right offer arrives this summer. His contract runs until 2029, and Chelsea value him in the €50–55M range, a figure that will be decisive in negotiations.

Cucurella is keen on an exit

Cucurella himself believes leaving Chelsea is the best solution for both parties. He has instructed his agents not to update him during Spain’s World Cup campaign, preferring to manage the process calmly and finalise his decision afterwards.

In conclusion, Marc Cucurella’s case is shaping up to be one of the headline stories of the summer market. The financial dimension, combined with the involvement of Europe’s biggest clubs, will determine the outcome.

Chelsea’s valuation, Barcelona’s registration issues, Atlético’s formal steps, and the strategies of Real Madrid and Manchester United stand out as the key factors determining Cucurella’s next destination.

Euro giants confident of landing 28-year-old Man United ace in bargain deal

14 June 2026 at 01:00

Bayern Munich are interested in signing Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford this summer.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, they are confident they can get the deal done. The 28-year-old has no future at Manchester United, and the club is looking to sell him. Rashford has also been offered to Arsenal.

He was on loan at Barcelona last season, and the Spanish champions had the option to make the move permanent for €30 million. However, they are yet to pay up. Bayern Munich are preparing a €25 million offer to sign the player.

Can Bayern sign Marcus Rashford?

Rashford will look to sort out his future quickly, and joining the German champions could be an exciting option for him. He was interested in securing a permanent move to Barcelona, but they have not made their move yet. Rashford will want to focus on his football, and sorting out a move will be a priority. It remains to be seen whether Bayern Munich can secure an agreement with Manchester United.

Rashford produced 28 goal contributions last season, and there is no doubt that he would be an excellent addition for the German champions. However, they are already well stocked in the attacking unit, and it remains to be seen whether they can accommodate the International in the starting lineup.

Where will Rashford play at Bayern?

Luis Diaz has been phenomenal for them on the left flank, and Rashford operates in a similar role. It is unlikely that they will drop the Colombian International to accommodate the Manchester United attack. The England International will not want to sit on the bench at the German club either. It remains to be seen how Bayern Munich manage to convince the player.

The German champions are an attractive destination for most players, and they can offer the 28-year-old a platform to regularly compete for major trophies. However, they must also be able to give him regular opportunities in the starting lineup.
