Samsung Galaxy Watch users report annoying YouTube Music playback issue

13 May 2026 at 15:29

Some Samsung Galaxy Watch users are facing a problem with YouTube Music on Wear OS, mainly when they try to listen to downloaded songs offline. The issue mainly affects people who use their watch without keeping their phone connected, like during workouts, running, or traveling.

Usually, when a playlist is downloaded on a Galaxy Watch, it should play one song after another smoothly. But in this bug, the music often stops after the first song finishes. After that, the next songs do not play automatically, even though the playlist is fully downloaded on the watch.

The annoying part of the issue is that the playback buttons stop working properly. Options like Next song or other controls become greyed out, so users cannot skip or move forward in the playlist. The music app still shows the playlist, but it does not respond as expected.

This issue has been reported on different Galaxy Watch models, not just one specific version. That means it is likely a software problem rather than a hardware issue.

Some users have tried basic fixes like restarting the watch, clearing the app cache, or deleting and re-downloading songs. These steps sometimes help for a short time, but the problem usually comes back after a while.

A similar issue has also been seen on other smartwatches like the Pixel Watch, which suggests the bug may be related to the overall Wear OS system or the YouTube Music app itself, rather than just Samsung devices.

Right now, there is no permanent fix available. Google has not officially confirmed the issue or shared when it might be resolved. So users are currently relying on temporary solutions and waiting for an update to fix the problem.
