Alonso could give Chelsea edge over Arsenal & Man United in €50m transfer race

19 June 2026 at 17:30

Alvaro Carreras has been linked with a move away from Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old is a target for Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United. However, Chelsea could have an advantage over the other two clubs in the race for the defender.

Carreras has worked with Xabi Alonso, and the newly appointed Chelsea manager could play a key role in any potential move. According to Sports Boom, Real Madrid wants around €50 million for the defender. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea is prepared to break the Bank for him.

They have sanctioned Marc Cucurella’s departure to Real Madrid, and they need to replace him properly. The 23-year-old defender could be a solid long-term investment. He played 28 league matches for Real Madrid last season and recorded five goal contributions. There is no doubt he has the quality to play in the Premier League. He will look to help defensively and create opportunities going forward.

On the other hand, Arsenal are keeping tabs on the player. They are already well-stocked in the defensive unit, and it would be quite surprising if they decided to invest in the 23-year-old. They should look to sign a quality midfielder and a couple of quality attackers instead.

Finally, Manchester United’s interest in the defender is hardly a surprise. They need a long-term alternative to Luke Shaw, and the 23-year-old Spanish defender could be ideal for them. He is young enough to improve further, and he’s already competing at a high level.

The asking price could be a problem for the Premier League club, and it remains to be seen whether they can convince Real Madrid to be more reasonable with their demands.

With Cucurella joining the club, Carreras could be tempted to move on. He will be hoping to play regularly, and sitting on the bench at Real Madrid will not be a part of the plan.

Premier League Fixtures 2026/27: Liverpool’s tricky start, Arsenal’s favourable schedule & more

19 June 2026 at 13:10

The 2026/27 Premier League campaign is scheduled to kick off on Saturday, 22 August 2026.

The fixtures for the upcoming Premier League campaign have now been released.

The season will conclude on Sunday, 30 May 2027, with all matches taking place at the same time, in line with tradition.

Compared to the previous season, the league will begin a week later. This adjustment has been made to ease pressure on players amid an increasingly packed international football schedule. The revised start date ensures an 89-day gap following the end of the prior season and allows 33 days after the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The season’s closing fixtures will take place one week before the UEFA Champions League final, which is set for Saturday, 5 June 2027.

Chelsea explore smart swap deal for Serie A full-back, Blues could offer striker

19 June 2026 at 09:27

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso, and the deal could take an interesting twist with Nicolas Jackson potentially being offered as part of the package.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea have asked Juventus to consider including Jackson in negotiations after failing to match the Italian club’s asking price.

Juventus value Cambiaso at around €40m, while Chelsea’s opening offer is believed to be closer to €27m-€28m.

That gap explains why a swap-style deal could become useful. Juventus are looking for a new centre-forward this summer, and Jackson could offer them a younger attacking option without needing to spend heavily in cash.

Why Chelsea want the Juventus star

Chelsea’s interest in Cambiaso makes plenty of sense.

The Italy international can play as a left-back, wing-back or even on the opposite flank, giving the Blues the kind of tactical flexibility they have often looked for in recent windows.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

After Marc Cucurella’s move to Real Madrid, Chelsea need another reliable option on the left side of defence. Cambiaso is not just a defensive full-back either.

He is comfortable carrying the ball, stepping into midfield and supporting attacks, which would suit a team trying to play with more control and width.

Jackson could unlock the deal

Jackson’s future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain.

He spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich and has now returned to Chelsea, but there is no guarantee he will be central to the club’s plans moving forward.

For Juventus, he could be an attractive market opportunity. Football Italia also reports that the Bianconeri are looking at other striker options, including Alexander Sorloth and Randal Kolo Muani.

This is not a completed deal, but it is a clever idea from Chelsea. Instead of simply overpaying, they may try to use an expendable attacker to land a versatile defender who could immediately strengthen their squad.

Marc Cucurella aims subtle dig at Chelsea as he breaks silence on Real Madrid transfer

18 June 2026 at 22:21

Former Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella has aimed a sly dig at his former club by saying his transfer to Real Madrid is a big step up in his career.

The Spain international is currently with his country at the World Cup 2026, but his sudden move from Chelsea to Real Madrid was sorted quickly during his time at the tournament.

Cucurella himself had not yet spoken about the move until today, as he’s been quoted by Fabrizio Romano as explaining how the deal came about.

See below for some of the quotes as Cucurella revealed his talks with Jose Mourinho, and that he really felt he couldn’t say no to such a big opportunity…

Marc Cucurella key quotes on Real Madrid transfer

On “big step” to Madrid: “The transfer to Real Madrid happened very fast. It took 36 hours. I was so happy! They called me in the morning and told me that the clubs had talked about everything, that if I wanted to go there. I had no doubt, it was a big step for my career.”

Cucurella also spoke about the fact that he’s a former Barcelona player now moving to their bitter rivals.

He added: “Barcelona fans angry at me? You can NOT reject Real Madrid. I am very happy with my decision.”

Chelsea fans might not take too kindly to Cucurella sounding so overjoyed about leaving, but it perhaps makes sense that he wasn’t entirely happy at Stamford Bridge.

It was a difficult season for the west Londoners as they failed to win a trophy, finished 10th in the Premier League, and got thrashed by PSG in the Champions League.

Cucurella notably gave an interview to the Athletic in which he criticised the club’s transfer policy, so perhaps they were right to offload someone who doesn’t believe in the project.

“I understand this is part of the club’s policy, and that they want to take this direction — signing young players and looking to the future. But, for all of us who are still here and want to win big things, moments like this make you feel discouraged,” he said.

Liverpool & Chelsea step up interest in signing PL midfielder with two goals at the World Cup

18 June 2026 at 14:35

Brighton & Hove Albion are facing growing transfer pressure, with Liverpool and Chelsea both showing interest in midfielder Yasin Ayari after his impressive rise for club and country.

According to TEAMtalk, both Liverpool and Chelsea are among several clubs to have made enquiries about the 22-year-old Sweden international.

Scouts from interested clubs are also believed to have watched him last season, which suggests this is not just a reaction to one strong World Cup performance.

Ayari has quietly become one of Brighton’s most exciting young midfielders.

He is technically sharp, mobile and comfortable receiving the ball under pressure, exactly the sort of profile that top Premier League clubs tend to chase.

World Cup display raises his value

The timing of the interest is important. Ayari scored twice for Sweden in their 5-1 win over Tunisia on Sunday, with Reuters describing him as the player who led the way in a dominant World Cup opener.

That performance has only increased the spotlight. The Guardian also highlighted his two-goal display, noting how Sweden’s midfield helped overwhelm Tunisia.

For Liverpool, Ayari would fit the club’s long-term midfield planning.

He has the energy, ball-carrying ability and tactical discipline to grow into a high-intensity system.

For Chelsea, the appeal is just as obvious. They continue to target young players with resale value and Premier League upside.

Can Liverpool or Chelsea get their hands on Ayari?

Brighton, though, are not sitting still. TEAMtalk reports that the Seagulls have already opened talks over a potential contract extension.

That is a smart move because Ayari’s current deal runs until June 2027.

Brighton still hope to keep him. But with Liverpool and Chelsea circling, and his World Cup reputation rising fast, Ayari may soon become another Brighton talent at the centre of a major Premier League transfer battle.

The Premier League side have a habit of creating talented players and selling them to big boys of the Premier League.

Past examples include Marc Cucurella, Alexis Mac Allister, Moises Caicedo and others.

Ayari could be the latest name to join them in leaving Brighton in a big money move.

World Cup star being heavily scouted by Chelsea as he’s open to transfer

18 June 2026 at 13:51

Chelsea are reportedly showing an interest in Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall and scouting him heavily at this summer’s World Cup.

The 20-year-old will be one to watch if you follow World Cup 2026 news as he could be a key player for the Swedish national team as they make a strong start to the tournament.

According to Simon Phillips, Bergvall is now someone being closely monitored by Chelsea as they sense he could be open to leaving Tottenham this summer.

It was a difficult season for Spurs, who only narrowly avoided relegation with a win on the final day of the Premier League season, so work is needed to fix Roberto De Zerbi’s squad.

This surely also means some sales could be likely, with a talented young player like Bergvall perhaps likely to be tempted to look elsewhere for opportunities.

Could Chelsea swoop for Lucas Bergvall?

Chelsea have been mentioned to us as suitors for Bergvall before, and it seems this is increasingly likely to be one to watch.

It will be interesting to see how the Sweden international performs at the World Cup, as that could be key to earning him a big move.

It’s not easy to flourish in this under-performing Tottenham side, but Bergvall might look better with his national side, who thrashed Tunisia 5-1 in their opening group game.

Chelsea could be a good destination for Bergvall if he does look to leave Spurs for a new challenge, with the Blues showing they’re prepared to invest in young players for the future.

On the other hand, it’s debatable if a move to Stamford Bridge would be enough of a step up, as they were also pretty poor in 2025/26, finishing trophyless and in 10th place in the Premier League, meaning they won’t be in Europe next season.

THFC need a lot of work to improve, but that’s true of their London rivals as well, so it might be more realistic to see Bergvall moving if even bigger clubs end up looking into a transfer.

Just in: Alonso ready to start major Chelsea rebuild with £51m-rated goalkeeper

18 June 2026 at 11:21

Chelsea are reportedly monitoring Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa as they consider making a serious move for a new long-term No.1 this summer.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Blues are weighing up a move for the Portugal international, who is valued at around £51m.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

The 26-year-old has been linked with several major European clubs in recent years, but Chelsea’s interest is particularly interesting because their goalkeeping situation has rarely felt fully settled.

Robert Sanchez has had spells as first choice, while Filip Jorgensen’s future has also come under scrutiny.

FourFourTwo recently reported that Jorgensen has asked to leave Stamford Bridge after struggling for regular football. That could push Chelsea back into the market.

Porto goalkeeper has impressed top clubs

Costa would represent a different level of profile. He is experienced in the Champions League, already established with Portugal, and comfortable playing out from the back.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

That matters for Chelsea because modern goalkeepers are not just shot-stoppers anymore.

They are expected to start attacks, handle pressure and bring calm to the defense.

Porto are in a strong position, though. Transfermarkt lists Costa as a Portugal international with a market value of around €40m, while TransferFeed notes that recent reports have pointed to a €60m release-clause figure.

Chelsea would be sensible to sign Costa

For Chelsea, the question is whether spending heavily on a goalkeeper is the right use of funds. The squad still needs work in several areas, especially after another summer of movement.

However, if the club believe Costa can finally provide stability for the next five or six years, the fee becomes easier to justify.

Chelsea have spent big on potential in recent windows, but this would be more about certainty.

This is still at the monitoring stage. But if Jorgensen leaves and Chelsea decide they need a clear No.1, Costa could quickly become one of the most important names on their shortlist.

Journalist drops Enzo Fernandez bombshell as Chelsea midfielder takes major step

18 June 2026 at 10:28

Chelsea could be facing one of the biggest transfer tests of their summer, with Real Madrid reportedly preparing a huge bid for Enzo Fernández.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, there is already an agreement in principle between Real Madrid and the Argentine midfielder over a contract running until 2032.

The report also claims Fernández wants to leave Chelsea and is pushing for a move to the Bernabeu.

That is a serious development if Madrid follow it up with a formal offer.

The Spanish giants have been assessing several midfield options this summer, and Fernández appears to be moving higher up their list.

talkSPORT has also reported that Real Madrid have started transfer talks over the Chelsea star, with the Blues demanding around £120m.

Chelsea still hold the stronger hand

From Chelsea’s point of view, the situation is uncomfortable but not desperate. Fernández remains under a long-term contract after joining from Benfica in January 2023.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

That gives Chelsea major control. Even if the player wants Madrid, the Blues do not have to sell unless the money is right.

Given how much they paid to sign him, and how important he remains to their midfield, Chelsea are unlikely to accept anything below their valuation.

Dream move could force decision

The key question now is how strongly Fernández pushes.

If he genuinely sees Real Madrid as his dream destination, Chelsea may have to manage the situation carefully.

Keeping an unhappy player is rarely ideal, but selling a top midfielder too cheaply would be even worse.

Madrid have already done business with Chelsea this summer, signing Marc Cucurella.

That could help communication between the clubs, but this deal would be far bigger and more complicated.

Madrid are preparing their move, Fernández wants the switch, and Chelsea are waiting for the offer that will truly test their resolve.

Enzo Fernandez transfer plans take shape as insider reports latest Chelsea twist

18 June 2026 at 09:48

Chelsea could be heading towards another uncomfortable transfer situation, with Enzo Fernández reportedly willing to push for a move to Real Madrid.

According to a source on X, the Argentina international sees Madrid as his dream club and believes he has the quality to become an all-time great at the Bernabeu.

While that claim is strong, it does fit with previous reports suggesting the midfielder would be open to joining the Spanish giants if a serious offer arrives.

Yahoo Sports previously reported that Fernández would welcome a bid from Real Madrid, although Chelsea’s valuation remains extremely high.

The Blues are believed to want around £120m, which immediately makes any potential deal complicated.

Chelsea still hold the power

From Chelsea’s point of view, there is no reason to panic yet. Fernández remains one of their most valuable players and is tied to a long-term contract after joining from Benfica in 2023.

That contract gives Chelsea control. Even if the player wants Madrid, the Spanish club would still need to meet Chelsea’s asking price or find a creative structure that tempts the Blues into talks.

The timing is interesting because Real Madrid have already done business with Chelsea this summer.

Madrid signed Marc Cucurella from Chelsea, which naturally adds fuel to suggestions that more Stamford Bridge players could come onto their radar.

A move depends on Madrid’s priority

The big question is whether Real Madrid truly see Fernández as their main midfield target.

The Guardian has reported that Madrid have also looked at Mateus Fernandes, showing they are still assessing different midfield profiles.

There are no confirmed club-to-club talks. But if Fernández really is prepared to push for his dream move, Chelsea may soon face a major test of their resolve.

One thing has become pretty clear, Fernández wants to leave the Blues and he is willing to make his intentions clear to the club.

Chelsea are set to sell Jimmy-Jay Morgan to West Bromwich Albion in a permanent deal worth around £4m, with the Blues also protecting themselves through a sell-on clause.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the agreement was reached, with West Brom moving decisively to secure the young forward.

Reports from Football Insider have also claimed that a full agreement is in place between the clubs and the player, with an official announcement expected soon.

For Chelsea, this looks like another example of smart academy business. Morgan is highly rated, but the pathway into the first team at Stamford Bridge remains extremely difficult.

Rather than leaving him stuck in the development system, the club have chosen to cash in while still keeping a financial interest in his future progress.

West Brom get attacking potential

West Brom will see this as an exciting signing. Morgan spent last season on loan at Peterborough United, where he impressed with his movement, pressing and finishing.

Inside Futbol reported that he scored 14 goals during that loan spell, which explains why Championship clubs were willing to move quickly.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

The 20-year-old originally joined Chelsea from Southampton in 2023, with the Blues confirming his arrival on their official website.

At the time, Chelsea described him as a player arriving in strong youth-team form, and he has continued to develop through loans and academy football.

Chelsea set to confirm another departure after Cucurella exit

Earlier this week, the Blues confirmed left-back Marc Cucurella left the club to join Real Madrid in La Liga.

From Chelsea’s point of view, the sell-on clause is the key detail.

If Morgan develops into a major Championship striker or earns another big move later, Chelsea will still benefit financially.

For West Brom, this is a calculated gamble with real upside. They are getting a young forward with goals behind him and room to improve.

This feels like a deal that suits everyone: Chelsea make money and protect future value, West Brom get a talented striker, and Morgan gets the chance to play regular senior football.

Fabrizio Romano: Chelsea agree deal with West Brom for Jimmy Jay-Morgan

Taking to social media platform X, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano broke the news with his trademark catchphrase to signify that the transfer is on the brink of official completion.

“Jimmy Jay-Morgan from Chelsea to West Brom, here we go! Deal agreed today for £4m total package,” Romano revealed to his followers.

Negotiations between the two clubs progressed rapidly, allowing the Baggies to beat out fierce competition from rival Championship sides.

West Brom’s recruitment team has targeted the forward line as a priority area ahead of the new season, and securing a talent from a top-six Premier League academy represents a major statement of intent.

While Chelsea have agreed to let the talented attacker depart, they have ensured they remain protected if he fulfills his immense potential.

As part of the agreement, Chelsea also included a sell-on clause as part of the deal.

Report: Chelsea ask about five players from Xabi Alonso’s former club

17 June 2026 at 17:48

Chelsea could reportedly be exploring a major transfer raid on Xabi Alonso’s former club Real Madrid this summer.

According to Simon Phillips, the Blues have used recent talks with Real Madrid over Marc Cucurella’s sale to also ask about five of their players.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

Chelsea are seemingly keen on the likes of Alvaro Carreras, Arda Guler, Aurelien Tchouameni, Victor Valdepenas, and Dean Huijsen.

Huijsen was notably a target for Chelsea while he was at Bournemouth, while Carreras could be an interesting one to watch as he’s directly impacted by the arrival of another left-back in the form of Cucurella.

What’s going on with Chelsea’s transfer strategy?

It’s early days yet for Chelsea in this transfer window, but the sale of Cucurella is unlikely to inspire much confidence.

This was an experienced and consistent performer in a generally struggling squad, and the speed at which the deal was done perhaps indicates that CFC didn’t even put up much of a fight to persuade him to stay, or to at the very least get a bigger fee from his sale.

Chelsea signed Cucurella for a £60m package in 2022, as per BBC Sport, and the fee reported by BBC Sport for the Spain international’s move to the Bernabeu is just under that at £51.8m.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

Even if Chelsea do replace Cucurella with Carreras, that’s a bit of a risk for a player who’d possibly end up looking like a downgrade rather than an upgrade.

Some of those other Madrid players could be exciting additions, particularly Tchouameni or Guler, but it remains to be seen how likely it is that players of that calibre would now move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea don’t have European football next season after finishing 10th in the Premier League, and the current project just doesn’t seem to be heading in a positive direction at all.

Perhaps Alonso’s presence can persuade some players to join, especially if they’ve already worked under him and have seen just how successful a coach he can be.

PSG squad option Senny Mayulu is going nowhere despite serious interest from teams across Europe.

PSG are riding high right now, having secured a second consecutive Champions League trophy and maintained their stranglehold on French football.

The Parisians have a stacked squad, but playing for them guarantees success to the point that even their rotation options don’t want to leave. That’s one of the rewards of success.

Mayulu wants to stick with the rising tide

Take Senny Mayulu for example. He’s not breaking into the first team anytime soon, but he gets lots of league starts and isn’t tempted by rolling the dice on a move elsewhere. Chelsea and Bayern Munich have been interested, but the PSG academy product will instead sign a new contract at the Parc des Princes, according to Fabrice Hawkins.

Interest will finally be shut down when the 20 year old signs a deal until 2031, something expected to happen in the next few days.

The same scenario seems to be happening with in demand teenage winger Ibrahim Mbaye – wanted by lots of top teams, but happy to remain as a PSG option rather than take the risk of a move to try and be a star elsewhere.

PSG continue to strengthen their project.

If you enjoy CaughtOffside coverage and want to see more of it, add us as a preferred source on Google to make us a favourite and see more of our content.

After years as a key figure for Gareth Southgate’s England team, most people were expecting Harry Maguire to get a callup for England this summer. He didn’t get one.

Then they will have been expecting him to get a callup to replace the injured Tino Livramento last week. He didn’t get that either.

The defender has explained why he thought Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah was preferred to him or to Trent Alexander-Arnold as an emergency callup.

No fuss Chalobah gets the nod

“When someone drops out like that, I do believe that as a squad, you need to call someone up with the minimum of fuss. No real media attention to it, no disruption to the camp,” Maguire said while working as a pundit for the Rest is Football.

“I don’t think Trent would have ever been called up; when it’s a big game, all the questions would have been about him. If he called me up, it would be about me,” the experienced England defender added.

“Luke Shaw is the same; we’ve been to previous tournaments, we play for big clubs. But congratulations to Trevoh, I hope he does well and has an impact on the squad,” he summarised, on Chalobah’s addition.

Chalobah is really the perfect player for these circumstances, then. He’s about as low profile as an England player could be. He’s not likely to play, he’s not going to cause trouble, he’s not going to grab headlines.

He’s going to go and work hard, bring some positive energy and be ready if the team need to call on him. It’s a great reward for some impressively consistent years in the Premier League.

In other news…

Hayden Hackney has been a big name in the Championship for a while – it looks like this year could be the moment he gets his Premier League move.

The Premier League’s top teams are all closing in on one very interesting option who has yet to agree a new deal at his current club.

Bellingham or Rogers? How England could line up for World Cup 2026 opener vs Croatia

The big team news questions mainly surround Jude Bellingham or Morgan Rogers for the attacking midfield role, while Thomas Tuchel also has decisions to make in central defence, and wide on the left.

While we think there’s a serious case for Tuchel to go for form over names by picking Aston Villa star Rogers over Real Madrid Galactico Bellingham, it’s perhaps hard to imagine the Three Lions boss taking a big gamble like that for the toughest opponent in the group.

England predicted line up to take on Croatia

See below for prediction for how England could line up against Croatia this evening…

England look strong with this line up, but there’s always the possibility that Bukayo Saka’s fitness could be a problem, perhaps meaning a starting spot for Noni Madueke.

Saka has been a world class performer for Arsenal and England down the years, but he has had a few more fitness problems after playing so many games in recent times.

On the other flank, Anthony Gordon has done well after recently becoming more of a key player for England, but Marcus Rashford also goes into this tournament in fine form after a strong loan spell at Barcelona.

The Manchester United outcast is another player who might also be worth choosing for his experience, but we expect Gordon is slightly ahead in the pecking order right now due to his direct style, pace, and work-rate.

The likes of Harry Kane and Declan Rice are surely certain to start whatever happens, but it will be interesting to see if they play the full 90 minutes in the blistering heat that has been touted as a bit of an issue in the US.

What do you make of the possible England line up and are you confident about the game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Sources: Arsenal chief Berta pursuing transfer “strongly” as deal looks “positive”

17 June 2026 at 13:58

The Ayyoub Bouaddi transfer story is emerging as one of the hottest potential deals of the summer, with Lille’s stance and the player’s own preferences making the race for his signature increasingly complex.

Bouaddi has already caught the eye at the World Cup 2026 as he ran the show from midfield for Morocco in their impressive 1-1 draw against Brazil in their opening group game.

Since then, speculation linking the teenager with Arsenal has increased, and I’ve received some information that might be of interest.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

Arsenal have indeed held initial talks with those close to Bouaddi, with Andrea Berta moving some time ago to try to position the Gunners as early favourites for this deal.

Ayyoub Bouaddi transfer suitors

Bouaddi is, however, also a target for Chelsea, as reported before, and sources have also mentioned Liverpool, Manchester United, and, as has been widely reported elsewhere, Paris Saint-Germain.

Lille are understood to be open to a sale and have long expected that they could lose the 18-year-old this summer, with strong performances at the World Cup giving them an opportunity to raise their asking price.

Sources with ties to the agents industry tell me that Lille could be looking for around £70-80m, but that may not be settled just yet as formal club-to-club negotiations have not started at the time of writing.

There’s also some truth to the widely-reported claim that Lille are keen to avoid selling Bouaddi to Ligue 1 rivals PSG, but sources close to the French champions insist that won’t put them off pursuing the deal for such a highly-rated talent, who is seen as a perfect stylistic fit for Luis Enrique’s project.

How Arsenal are approaching Ayyoub Bouaddi deal

Berta has done a lot of work on this potential deal for Arsenal, but it’s also a big part of his strategy to reach an agreement on personal terms with a number of targets before deciding on proceeding with club-to-club contacts.

I’m reliably told that, for now, Arsenal do not yet have a full agreement on personal terms with Bouaddi, even if there’s the sense that initial talks have been positive.

Arsenal have been pursuing the Bouaddi deal strongly,” one source said. “No agreement on personal terms yet, but Berta and his team are feeling positive. I’d expect Bouaddi to be the top target, but work has also been done on Manu Kone, Sandro Tonali, and others.”

So, although the links with Arsenal are strongest at the moment, I wouldn’t rule out the likes of Chelsea and PSG just yet, as Bouaddi is going to continue to be seen as hot property on the market.

AFC will also keep other options open, so this might not be the speediest deal, as we’ll have to see how things progress with other targets as well.

Chelsea sound out Premier League winger as transfer interest gets serious

17 June 2026 at 13:16

Chelsea have reportedly got a serious interest in Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye as they have sounded him out as a summer transfer target.

The Blues have also been targeting Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, but it looks like a deal is unlikely for now due to Arsenal being in a stronger position.

This, according to Simon Phillips, has led Chelsea to look at Ndiaye as another option to strengthen their attack.

The Senegal international impressed in the Premier League in the season just gone, contributing six goals and three assists.

Admittedly, those numbers aren’t exactly outstanding, but those who’ve watched him play will also know that the stats don’t tell the whole story.

Iliman Ndiaye would add quality and experience for Chelsea

Ndiaye is a technically gifted player with real elegance and flair, while he’s also a lot more experienced and proven in the Premier League than the players Chelsea have often signed under this ownership.

The 26-year-old could be a welcome change from some of the Blues’ recent signings, who have so often been quite underwhelming and unable to cope with the pressure of playing for such a big club at such a young age.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

Ndiaye looks ready to make the step up after impressing at Everton, and there’s every chance he could improve on his goal and assist numbers if he were able to slot into an attack-minded team with quality around him.

Chelsea will hope that will be the kind of platform they can provide players under new manager Xabi Alonso next season.

Signings will also be key, however, to helping Alonso become a success at Stamford Bridge, with the Spanish tactician showing what he’s capable of during his time as Bayer Leverkusen manager, though he struggled with the rather more chaotic situation at Real Madrid in the first half of last season.

Chelsea want ex-player back but Man United could scupper their plans

16 June 2026 at 23:00

Chelsea have decided to sell Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid, and they are plotting a move for Lewis Hall as his replacement.

The 21-year-old left Chelsea to join Newcastle United in 2023, and he has been a key player for them. Chelsea are hoping to bring him back to the club.

Chelsea want to sign Lewis Hall

According to Sports Boom, they are now plotting an ambitious move to bring the player back, and it remains to be seen whether they can convince Newcastle. The Magpies will not want to sell the 21-year-old easily. He has been a key player for them.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are also monitoring his situation. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.

Chelsea needs to properly replace Cucurella, and signing one of the Premier League’s best young fullbacks would be a wise decision. The decision to sell Hall to Newcastle was a mistake, and Chelsea are looking to rectify it. The young defender has a long-term contract with Newcastle, and they will have to pay a premium in order to convince the Magpies.

Man United also keen on Hall

Manchester United are also looking for a younger alternative to Luke Shaw, and they have the resources to pay a premium. It will be interesting to see which of the two clubs can get the deal done.

Hall could be attracted to the idea of joining some of the biggest clubs in the country. Manchester United will be able to offer him Champions League football next season, and that could give them an edge in the transfer race. Chelsea have no European football on offer, but Hall could be tempted to return to his club, and he might feel that he has unfinished business at the club.

Chelsea and Barcelona set for transfer battle over highly rated €50m midfielder

16 June 2026 at 22:30

Christ Inao Oulai has been linked with the move away from Turkish outfit Trabzonspor, and Chelsea are interested in signing the player.

According to a report from SportsBoom, the 20-year-old is also a target for Premier League outfit Chelsea. The player is valued at €50 million, and it will be interesting to see if Chelsea or Barcelona is prepared to make a move for the midfielder.

Oulai has also been linked with Manchester United a few months ago.

Christ Inao Oulai could be a star

Oulai is a talented player with a bright future, and he could develop into a key player for Chelsea or Barcelona. There is no doubt that he could justify the investment in the long-term. However, the asking price is quite unreasonable right now. The Ivory Coast international has yet to consistently prove himself at the highest level. Trabzonspor will need to be reasonable in their demands for the move to go through.

Chelsea needs more physicality and control in the middle of the park, and the 20-year-old could be a solid acquisition. He is a deep-lying playmaker who will help control the tempo of the game and provide defensive support as well.

Where will Oulai end up?

Similarly, Barcelona could use more depth in the midfield; they will be hoping to push for the Champions League trophy this season, and a deeper squad will help them.

On the other hand, Chelsea have failed to secure European football for next season, and they need to plug the gaps to bounce back strongly. Signing the 20-year-old midfielder could prove to be a solid long-term investment for them. If they can groom him properly over the next few seasons, he could develop into a star for them.

Chelsea battling to hijack deal for 18-year-old winger with huge potential

16 June 2026 at 20:30

Aurelien Guernier has been linked with a move away from Birmingham City this summer.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, AC Milan is in talks to secure his signature and is closing in on a deal for the 18-year-old winger. However, Chelsea is also keen on the player.

It remains to be seen whether they can beat the Italian club to his signature.

Aurelien Guernier is one for the future

Guernier is a talented young player with a bright future, and he could develop into an important first-team player for Chelsea.

The opportunity to join Chelsea could be exciting for the young attacker as well. It would allow him to continue playing in England for one of the world’s biggest clubs. It remains to be seen how the situation develops. AC Milan is also one of the biggest clubs in the world. It will be difficult for the young attacker to turn down the move.

He needs to join a club with a clear pathway to the first team. Milan has done well to groom young players in the past, and they could play a role in his development. Similarly, Chelsea has an outstanding youth setup.

Can Chelsea sign Guernier?

It will be interesting to see where the 18-year-old attack ends up. He has a big future ahead of himself, and whoever ends up signing him could have a bargain on their hands. He is unlikely to cost much, and the two clubs have the financial resources to pay the compensation required to sign him.

Chelsea are looking to build a team for the future, and it is no surprise that they are keen on the Birmingham City prodigy.

Chelsea preparing bold move for 8-G/A defender wanted by Barcelona

16 June 2026 at 19:30

Chelsea sanctioned Marc Cucurella’s departure to Real Madrid and wants to replace him with Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso.

The 26-year-old has done quite well in Italy, and he could prove to be an excellent acquisition for Chelsea. He has been a reliable defender for Juventus, and he can be quite effective going forward. He could help them improve at both ends of the pitch. Cambiaso recorded eight goal contributions last season.

According to Gianluigi Longari, Barcelona are also interested in signing the 26-year-old Italian defender. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea can convince the player to join them. They have the resources to pay a premium, and they are a big club with an ambitious project.

Chelsea had a disappointing season last year and finished in mid-table. They have failed to secure European football for the upcoming campaign. That could play a key role in convincing quality players. Cambiaso might want to compete in the Champions League next season. Chelsea will not be able to provide him with that opportunity.

On the other hand, Barcelona won the title and will be competing for major trophies next year as well.

It remains to be seen what the Italian international sites. A move to the Premier League or La Liga will be exciting for him at this stage of his career. He is at the peak of his powers, and this is the right time for him to move on and take on a different challenge.

Chelsea have brought in a quality manager like Xabi Alonso, and he will be expected to turn things around. They will need to back him with quality signings this summer.

Chelsea weighing up move for €50m La Liga defender who has worked with Xabi Alonso

16 June 2026 at 16:44

Chelsea are in need of a left-back after Marc Cucurella’s move to Real Madrid was confirmed on Monday, depositing €55m (£47.5m) plus €5m (£4.3m) in variables in their accounts. The solution could well be found at the Santiago Bernabeu.

One of the reasons that Chelsea were comfortable allowing Cucurella to leave is the development of Jorrel Hato, who they believe can step into the void left by the Spain international. The 27-year-old had also expressed a desire to return to Spain, and with two years left on his deal, it perhaps made sense for the Blues to cash in. Nevertheless, Hato is their only specialist at left-back now.

Chelsea weighing up move for Alvaro Carreras

As a product of Cucurella arriving at Real Madrid, Los Blancos now have four left-backs on their books, with Fran Garcia, Ferland Mendy and Alvaro Carreras. The latter of course arrived only last summer for a fee of €50m from Benfica, and did so with the approval of Xabi Alonso, who was arriving as manager at the time too.

According to Diario AS, Chelsea are now considering a move for Carreras. Alonso is familiar with him, and Carreras would have no issues adapting to English football, having previously been at Manchester United and played on loan at Preston North End. They say that Los Blancos would be looking to be recover most of the fee they spent for him, and while Carreras is keen to stay, the door could be open to a move if Cucurella is a de facto starter.

Carreras’ first season in Spain more or less mirrored that of Alonso, starting off in fine fashion and becoming one of the early contenders for best signings in the first third of the year. As things started to go wrong, Carreras’ form nosedived though, and he finished the season out of the team, behind both Garcia and Mendy. He also had a run-in with Antonio Rudiger in training, reportedly being slapped by the ex-Chelsea centre-back.

Chelsea look towards London rivals for defensive solution under Xabi Alonso

16 June 2026 at 15:26

Chelsea are keeping a close eye on Crystal Palace centre-back Maxence Lacroix as they assess defensive options ahead of the new season.

According to the Daily Mail, the Blues are among the clubs tracking the 26-year-old, who has become one of Palace’s most important defensive players.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

Arsenal and Real Madrid have also been linked with interest, which could make this a very competitive race if Palace decide to listen to offers.

Chelsea’s interest is easy to understand. They need defenders who are quick, aggressive and comfortable defending in space, and Lacroix fits that profile well.

Crystal Palace in strong position

Crystal Palace are not under major pressure to sell. Lacroix joined the club from Wolfsburg in 2024 and is under contract until 2029, according to Transfermarkt.

That gives Palace strong control in any negotiation.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

He also played a key role in Palace’s historic European run last season. The club won the UEFA Conference League under Oliver Glasner, and Lacroix was one of their most reliable performers across the campaign.

Palace’s official website highlighted that he had played more minutes than any other outfield player in their European journey before the final.

Chelsea target is currently with France at the World Cup

Lacroix is also with France at the World Cup, which adds another layer to the story. A strong tournament could increase his price and attract even more attention.

For Chelsea, this is a deal worth watching, but not an easy one.

Palace have a long contract, European football momentum and a new manager in Pierre Sage, whose appointment was confirmed by The Guardian.

If Chelsea want Lacroix, they may have to move quickly and pay heavily.

Chelsea step up search for new left-sided defender after Marc Cucurella exit

16 June 2026 at 15:17

Chelsea are already looking at possible replacements for Marc Cucurella after his move to Real Madrid, and Sporting CP’s Maxi Araújo has emerged as one of the main names on their list.

According to Portuguese outlet Record, Chelsea have scouted the Uruguay international and have also made enquiries with his representatives.

That suggests the Blues are not just casually monitoring the situation, they are doing early groundwork in case they decide to make a formal move.

Cucurella’s exit has left Chelsea with a clear gap on the left side of defense.

Reuters reported that Real Madrid signed the Spaniard on a six-year deal, with British media valuing the move at up to £51.8m.

For Chelsea, that is a strong sale, but it also creates an immediate squad problem.

Why the Sporting star appeals

Araújo is an interesting option because of his versatility. He can play as a left-back, wing-back or further forward on the left, which would give Chelsea tactical flexibility.

Chelsea made contact after scouting him, while also Tottenham and other European clubs have shown interest.

That competition matters. Araújo has developed into a key player at Sporting since joining the club in 2024, and his performances have increased his value.

The Chelsea Chronicle reported that Sporting could demand around £35m, despite a much higher release clause.

A smart but not simple deal for Chelsea

From Chelsea’s point of view, this feels like a practical target. Araújo is experienced, athletic and attack-minded, but he is not likely to cost as much as some Premier League alternatives.

Still, the Blues need to be careful. Replacing Cucurella is not just about signing another left-back.

They need someone who can handle Premier League intensity, defend one-v-one and contribute in possession.

Chelsea’s interest appears real, but still at the enquiry stage. The next step is deciding whether Araújo is the player they want to seriously push for.

Journalist reveals key reason Chelsea sanctioned Marc Cucurella sale and it’s down to another Blues star

15 June 2026 at 23:31

Chelsea have officially sanctioned the sale of Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid, and it appears the major decision to part ways with the Spanish left-back was heavily influenced by the rise of one of his own Blues teammates.

According to prominent journalist Ben Jacobs on X, Cucurella’s high-profile move to the Real Madrid came after the 27-year-old expressed a clear desire to return to Spain for personal and family reasons.

Why Chelsea sold Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid

Chelsea worked constructively to find the best solution for all parties, ultimately accepting a package worth €55m plus €5m in add-ons, a figure internally viewed by the hierarchy as an incredibly strong fee for the full-back.

However, external factors were not the only catalysts behind the transfer. Jacobs reveals that the rapid development of young defender Jorrel Hato over the course of last season acted as a massive contributing factor for Chelsea’s recruitment team in sanctioning the exit.

With a ready-made alternative showing immense promise on the pitch, the decision to cash in on the Spaniard became a far more straightforward business and sporting choice.

Jacobs posted the following update on X:

“More on Marc Cucurella’s Chelsea exit. Understand Cucurella expressed a desire to return to Spain for personal and family reasons. Chelsea worked to find the best solution. €55m+€5m viewed as strong fee by the club. Jorrel Hato’s development last season was also a contributing factor in sanctioning the exit. Chelsea now want to add at least two starting-level players that can immediately compete in the Premier League.”

Jorrel Hato has impressed since signing for Chelsea

Hato signed for Chelsea last summer and has thoroughly impressed the club’s coaching staff and hierarchy alike.

Initially brought in as a highly-rated prospect for the future, the 20-year-old Netherlands international capitalised on his opportunities last season, showing tactical maturity and composure that belied his age.

His standout performances as a deputy on the left side of defense reassured the club that the position was in secure hands.

With Cucurella’s hefty €60m package officially finalised, Stamford Bridge chiefs are ready to reinvest the funds immediately.

Chelsea now want to add at least two starting-level players that can immediately compete in the Premier League to bolster the squad.

Thanks to Hato’s exponential growth, the Blues have managed to secure a premium transfer fee while maintaining complete confidence in their defensive depth ahead of the new campaign.

Sources rule out Chelsea from chasing top midfielder wanted by Man U and Arsenal

15 June 2026 at 16:07

Chelsea are being linked with a number of targets this summer – but sources have ruled them out of the chase for one Premier League star.

If you enjoy CaughtOffside coverage and want to see more of it, add us as a preferred source on Google to make us a favourite and see more of our content.

The World Cup is underway, and the attention of the football world is focused there, but in the background transfers are starting to happen too.

Chelsea are expected to be busy, following the appointment of Xabi Alonso as manager. They have already sold Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid, but moves the other way are coming too as the club prepare to try and battle back into the Champions League.

Chelsea ruled out of chase for rising Premier League star

A name being mentioned in connection with the Blues as well as a number of other Premier League sides is Alex Scott of Bournemouth.

An all action number 8, his energy was a huge part of Andoni Iraola’s successful side. But Bobby Vincent’s piece for Football.London looking at the Blues’ plans for the summer makes it clear that he’s not on the list:

“Alex Scott’s name was mentioned online towards the back end of last season but sources close to the club dismissed the links with the highly-rated Bournemouth midfielder,” Vincent wrote.

With Chelsea out of the running, teams like Spurs, Man United and Arsenal should all have a clearer run at the rising star. It’s not clear what Chelsea’s plans are if Scott is not on the cards. They need a reliable midfielder, and that’s especially true if Enzo Fernandez leaves the club, a move which looks likely at this point.

Real Madrid ‘still deciding’ on move for second Chelsea star after Marc Cucurella deal

15 June 2026 at 15:25

Real Madrid are still deciding on who they should move for in midfield this summer, despite the addition of Bernardo Silva on a free from Manchester City. Los Blancos are keen to bring in a second midfielder, but it is not clear yet who they will target, albeit Jose Mourinho has his preferences.

Over recent weeks, Real Madrid have been moving swiftly in the transfer market wrapping up contract agreements with Silva and Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate, and they are set to pay Denzel Dumfries release clause at Inter. The first to officially be announced though is Marc Cucurella, who has signed for Real Madrid for €60m (£52m) including variables.

Rumours about the future of a second Chelsea star then went into overdrive after Enzo Fernandez liked news of Cucurella’s move. Fernandez has been linked to Real Madrid for some time, and in the past has voiced a desire to live in the Spanish capital, later receiving a two-match ban for his comments.

Whether Real Madrid would put up the money that would persuade Chelsea to part with Fernandez is another matter. Ben Jacobs has claimed that Real Madrid are ‘still deciding’ on what type of midfielder they want, amid reports that Jose Mourinho is pushing for the signing of the Argentina international. Their asking price is £120m (€140m), which would make him Real Madrid’s record signing.

Enzo Fernandez is keen to join Marc Cucurella at Real Madrid, and has made no secret of wanting to leave Chelsea.

Chelsea's asking price remains £120m, as revealed last month. Club calm about the situation, but will sell at the right price.

Another of the alternatives on the table is West Ham United midfielder Mateus Fernandes, a breakout star, but equally he will not be much cheaper. It is thought that there is some reluctance to spend the €93m on a relatively untested player, despite his high potential.

Manchester United still lead race as Chelsea make surprise transfer contact with left-back

15 June 2026 at 13:49

Manchester United are still believed to be leading the race for Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall, despite Chelsea reportedly making contact over a possible move.

According to a source on X, Chelsea have reached out regarding the 21-year-old, but the Blues would need a lot of convincing before pushing seriously for a deal.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

That is understandable. Hall came through Chelsea’s academy before leaving for Newcastle, and bringing him back would be an expensive and slightly awkward move after letting him go.

Man United, however, appear to have a clearer need. Sky Sports recently reported that Manchester United are monitoring Hall and Antonee Robinson as possible left-back options, with Luke Shaw currently the only senior natural left-back at Old Trafford.

Chelsea interest adds a twist

Chelsea’s contact makes the situation more interesting, but it does not necessarily mean they are ready to move.

The club confirmed Hall’s permanent transfer to Newcastle in 2024 on their official website, after his loan spell at St James’ Park.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

That decision looked sensible at the time, but Hall’s development has since made him one of the more exciting young full-backs in the Premier League.

Newcastle’s official profile describes him as a versatile defender who completed his permanent move from Chelsea in July 2024.

For Chelsea, the issue is whether it makes financial and sporting sense to revisit a player they recently sold.

Unless they are fully convinced, this feels more like early contact than a serious challenge to United.

Newcastle United hold the power

Newcastle are not under pressure to sell cheaply. Hall is young, homegrown, improving and under long-term control, so any deal would likely require a major offer.

Hall would be open to Man United, which could be important if the race develops further.

For now, United still look best placed. Chelsea may have entered the conversation, but Man United’s need is clearer, their interest appears stronger, and Hall fits exactly the type of long-term left-back profile they are searching for.

Real Madrid announce signing of Chelsea defender in €60m deal

15 June 2026 at 13:22

Real Madrid have confirmed that Marc Cucurella will be joining them from Chelsea, and although he is set to become their fourth signing of the summer, he is the first to be confirmed by Los Blancos. Their move for the former Barcelona youngster came as something of a surprise, but they have moved quickly to wrap up a deal over the space of a few days.

Cucurella joins Los Blancos from Chelsea for €55m (£47.5m) plus €5m (£4.3m) in variables, and has penned a six-year contract at the Santiago Bernabeu, keeping him there until 2032. The 27-year-old moved to Chelsea from Brighton four years ago for £60m (€65.3m), making him one of the most expensive defenders in the game, and struggled initially to adapt to Chelsea. However his form over the past two years have led many to consider him among the best left-backs in the world.

Cucurella had voiced desire to return to Spain

None of it can come as too much of a surprise though, given Cucurella had been augering for a move in recent months. Originally, it was Atletico Madrid and then Barcelona linked with the signing of Cucurella, but Real Madrid swooped in to sign the Spain international. In March, during the international break, he had voiced his desire to return to La Liga at some point.

The most obvious next left-back up for Chelsea is Jorrel Hato, who is capable of operating comfortably at full-back. It remains to be seen if Xabi Alonso will request another top replacement, or he will look elsewhere for back up. The move for Cucurella has cast doubt on the future of Alvaro Carreras at Real Madrid, who joined for €50m from Benfica, under Alonso’s instruction.

Jose Mourinho reported to be the driving force behind €60m raid on ex-club Chelsea

15 June 2026 at 12:55

Real Madrid appear to have won the race for Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella after Atlético Madrid refused to go beyond their limit.

According to Ben Jacobs, Atlético indicated this week that they did not want to spend more than €50m on the Spanish defender.

Chelsea, however, were never willing to properly engage below that figure, which opened the door for Real Madrid to move more decisively.

That stance from Chelsea makes sense. Cucurella may have had an up-and-down spell at Stamford Bridge, but he rebuilt his reputation strongly and became one of the club’s more reliable defensive options.

Selling him cheaply was never going to appeal to a club still trying to balance squad planning with financial discipline.

Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Chelsea in a deal worth €55m plus €5m in add-ons.

That package takes the move beyond Atlético’s preferred limit and shows how quickly Madrid were willing to act once the opportunity became serious.

Jose Mourinho wanted to sign the Chelsea left-back

The key factor appears to be José Mourinho. The Portuguese manager is believed to have pushed hard for the transfer, viewing Cucurella as the kind of experienced, aggressive and reliable full-back who can immediately improve Real Madrid’s defensive balance.

That is an important detail. Madrid have looked at several left-back options, but Mourinho’s preference for a proven player seems to have driven the move forward.

Madrid moved ahead of Atlético to secure the agreement.

Blues get the transfer fee that they wanted

For Chelsea, this looks like strong business. The Blues signed Cucurella from Brighton in 2022.

Getting a package close to €60m now allows Chelsea to recover a large portion of that fee while giving them room to reshape their defense.

Atlético may feel frustrated, but Chelsea held firm and Real Madrid simply moved with more conviction.

The Blues would not have to enter the market to replace a key player after losing him to Real Madrid.

Enzo Fernandez reaction to Cucurella leaving Chelsea sparks exit rumours

15 June 2026 at 09:55

Chelsea could face a major summer decision over Enzo Fernandez, with Real Madrid reportedly monitoring the midfielder as they assess different profiles for their next big midfield signing.

According to Ben Jacobs, Fernandez would be keen on a move to Real Madrid and has made no secret of the fact that he is open to leaving Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea, however, remain calm about the situation and are not under pressure to sell unless their asking price is met.

That figure is understood to be around £120m, which shows how strongly Chelsea value the Argentine.

It also makes sense from their point of view. Fernandez arrived from Benfica in January 2023 for a British-record fee, and he remains one of the club’s biggest assets.

Cucurella move could infuence the situation

The Real Madrid angle has become even more interesting because Marc Cucurella is also expected to join the Spanish giants.

The Times has reported that Madrid have reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea for the left-back, meaning Fernandez could be tempted by the idea of linking up with a familiar face at the Bernabeu.

For Chelsea, that would be a concern, but not a crisis. The club have shown they are willing to sell big-name players when the price is right.

At the same time, they will not want to lose too much experience from the squad in one window.

Chelsea hold firm as Madrid weigh options

Real Madrid are still deciding what kind of midfielder they want. Sports Illustrated recently looked at their debate between a controller like Rodri and a more dynamic option like Fernandez, while Mateus Fernandes has also been discussed.

From Chelsea’s point of view, the message should be simple: pay the premium or move on.

Fernandez may want Madrid, but with a long contract and a huge valuation, Chelsea still control the conversation.

This could become one of the biggest midfield stories of the summer if Madrid decide he is the profile they truly want.

Xabi Alonso era starts at Chelsea as first major exit shows signs of big changes

15 June 2026 at 09:31

Real Madrid have completed another statement move in the transfer market, with Chelsea agreeing to sell Marc Cucurella in a deal worth up to €60m.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the transfer is now signed and sealed, with Madrid set to pay €55m as a fixed fee plus another €5m in add-ons.

Chelsea have also allowed medical tests to take place, clearing the way for the Spanish defender to become a new Real Madrid player.

The move has also been backed up by reports from Sky Sports, which claim Madrid have struck an agreement with Chelsea after making him a priority target.

Chelsea make big call after mixed Stamford Bridge spell

For Chelsea, this is a major decision. Cucurella joined from Brighton in 2022 in a deal that could rise to £62m, as reported at the time by The Guardian.

His time at Stamford Bridge had plenty of ups and downs, but he grew into a more important figure and became a useful option because of his energy, aggression and ability to play different roles on the left side.

However, Chelsea’s squad remains crowded, and a fee of around €60m is difficult to ignore.

From a business point of view, this looks like a smart sale, especially if the club believe they already have younger options ready to step up.

Real Madrid add experience and intensity

For Real Madrid, this signing makes sense. They are adding a player with Premier League experience, international pedigree and the intensity needed to compete at the highest level.

The deal is worth €55m plus €5m in bonuses. This is not just a squad-depth move. Madrid are clearly trying to strengthen key areas quickly, and adding a proven left-back gives them more balance.

For Chelsea, it is the start of another defensive reshuffle. For Madrid, it is another clear sign that they mean business this summer.

New manager Xabi Alonso wanted to keep the Spaniard at the club but he clearly had other intentions.

Chelsea make contact with Man United target as they plot surprise transfer hijack – report

15 June 2026 at 02:29

Chelsea have reportedly made contact with Newcastle to sign Lewis Hall as per the latest from a prominent ITK on X.

The 21-year-old left-back has experienced a meteoric rise since trading Stamford Bridge for St James’ Park, drawing heavy structural interest from several Premier League heavyweights ahead of the summer transfer window.

Chelsea join race to sign Lewis Hall

According to updates shared by prominent insider on X, Chelsea have formally re-entered the picture by initiating contact regarding Hall.

The dynamic defender originally left West London for Newcastle in a deal worth up to £35 million, but his parent academy club is now keeping close tabs on his situation.

However, a dramatic return to Stamford Bridge is far from a formality. The report notes that Chelsea’s hierarchy will still “need a lot of convincing” before committing to a definitive, high-stakes bid to re-sign the talented fullback.

The ITK posted the following:

“Exclusive: We can confirm that @ChelseaFC have contacted Manchester United target Lewis Hall. Chelsea will need a lot of convincing to sign the Newcastle United player. Manchester United are still leading the race to sign the player.”

Man United favourites to sign Hall

Despite Chelsea checking in on their former academy graduate, Manchester United remain the definitive frontrunners in the battle for his signature.

The Red Devils have long identified the £50 million-rated defender as a vital, long-term successor to Luke Shaw on the left side of their backline.

Old Trafford officials have reportedly kept active dialogue alive with the player’s camp over recent days.

Hall is understood to be highly admired by United’s recruitment department, fitting the exact profile of young, elite Premier League talent INEOS wishes to sign.

With Newcastle facing the reality of a season without European football, temptation is building for the youngster to explore his options.

While Chelsea retain a watching brief, all indicators suggest Old Trafford remains Hall’s most likely destination if a summer move materialises.

Everton and Newcastle tracking Chelsea’s next breakout star this summer

14 June 2026 at 19:00

Everton are involved in a three-way transfer battle for the signature of Chelsea teenage attacker Sol Gordon.

Sol Gordon’s impressive performances at the youth level have attracted significant interest from Premier League clubs. Chelsea might struggle to hold onto the teenager, as contract renewal talks haven’t gone according to plan.

According to a report from Football Insider, Everton, Bournemouth and Newcastle are all after the signature of Gordon. All three clubs are closely monitoring his situation and will look to pounce on any opportunity to lure him away from Stamford Bridge.

Sol Gordon could leave Chelsea this summer

While the 18-year-old right-winger is yet to make his first-team debut, he has been doing wonders for Chelsea at the youth level. He enjoyed an outstanding campaign for the Blues’ Under-18s last season, helping them clinch the title. He finished with 11 goals and six assists from 28 games and also featured for their Under-21s a couple of times.

Gordon is quite highly regarded by people at Stamford Bridge, and they want to ensure he continues at the club. However, with his contract set to expire in 12 months and contract renewal talks stalling, there is a high chance he will be on the move this summer.

Premier League trio are after Gordon’s signature

Everton, Bournemouth and Newcastle are all waiting in the wings for the perfect opportunity to try and strike a deal for the teenager. They consider the versatile forward a great option for the long run and want to add him to their squads this summer.

While he might not have played first-team football at Chelsea, the trio could offer him a shorter route to the senior team in an attempt to lure him. However, the Blues could still look to agree fresh terms with him in the coming weeks.

Chelsea beat European rivals to secure signature of playmaking sensation

14 June 2026 at 17:00

Chelsea are close to acquiring the services of Wigan Athletic attacking midfielder Harrison Bettoni, as a deal has been agreed.

Harrison Bettoni’s sensational rise at Wigan Athletic hasn’t gone unnoticed. A number of top clubs from across Europe have had him on their wishlist, but it seems Chelsea have won the race for his signature.

The Blues have agreed a deal for the teenage attacking sensation, as per a report from Football Insider. With his contract at the Brick Community Stadium running out this summer, the London club have moved quickly to secure his services for minimal compensation. He is set to be a part of their youth setup starting next season.

Harrison Bettoni’s sensational rise at Wigan Athletic

Bettoni joined the League One outfit back in 2019. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to the first team last summer. He finished the 2025/26 campaign with four goals in just 11 starts. The attacking midfielder featured in a total of 24 games and racked up close to 1,000 minutes in his first full season.

He has made quite a name for himself on the back of his impressive rise at Wigan. He made his league debut back in November against AFC Wimbledon. The 18-year-old marked the occasion with a well-worked brace after coming off the bench, helping his team win.

Wigan fail to hold onto Bettoni

Wigan are well aware of his potential and were keen on tying him down to a new deal, but their efforts have gone in vain. He doesn’t seem interested in staying at the Brick Community Stadium, amidst interest from top clubs in Europe.

While a number of clubs wanted him, Chelsea were quick off the blocks. The London club are always on the lookout for young players with massive potential. They consider Bettoni an ideal fit for their long-term plans and have managed to beat the competition to his signature.

However, it remains to be seen if he will be a part of their youth setup next season or end up going out on loan. They already have a plan in place for him, and it won’t be long before that comes to light.

Chelsea set to green-light exit for highly-rated 19-year-old prodigy

14 June 2026 at 11:00

Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea are ready to loan out their teenage defensive sensation Harrison Murray-Campbell, amidst interest from Championship clubs.

Harrison Murray-Campbell could be set for a move away from Chelsea, as the club wants to ensure he gets regular first-team minutes next season. There is interest in his services from clubs in England and across Europe.

According to a report from Football Insider, Chelsea are ready to sanction a temporary departure of the 19-year-old centre-back this summer. Clubs in the Championship are keen on his signature, while clubs in Belgium and Switzerland are also exploring a potential move.

Harrison Murray-Campbell is ready for first-team football

Murray-Campbell is yet to be promoted to the London club’s first team, but he did make his first-team debut last season in a Conference League fixture against Shamrock Rovers.

He enjoyed an impressive campaign last time out while playing for the Under-21s. On the back of his impressive performances, he has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Year.

The Blues believe the teenager is ready to play regularly at the senior level. However, he is unlikely to get enough minutes at Stamford Bridge next season under Xabi Alonso.

Murray-Campbell could join a Championship club

Since the Blues have failed to qualify for Europe, Alonso will have few opportunities to use the 19-year-old. With the club likely to sign a new centre-back, Murray-Campbell will be pushed further down the pecking order.

As a result, the London club believe a loan move away will be perfect for the youngster, who needs regular minutes at the senior level. He could follow a similar path to Trevoh Chalobah, who impressed away on loan before breaking into the first team.

A number of clubs in the Championship have kept tabs on the teenager, who prefers playing as a centre-back but is capable enough to feature as a right-back. The Blues are hoping to agree terms with an interested club for a loan move.

Sources: €55m Chelsea star feels his time is “coming to an end”, Man United ready to sign him

14 June 2026 at 09:35

Chelsea left‑back Marc Cucurella’s future has become one of the most debated topics of the summer transfer window.

Sources have informed CaughtOffside that the Spanish defender believes his time at Stamford Bridge is “coming to an end”, while Europe’s elite clubs continue to monitor the situation closely.

Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, Real Madrid and Manchester United remain interested, though the process is complicated by the player’s stance and Chelsea’s financial expectations.

Where will Marc Cucurella end up?

Barcelona would like to bring Cucurella back, but the club’s financial restrictions and concerns over registration guarantees weaken their chances. Atlético Madrid has shown more concrete interest, preparing to open formal talks with Chelsea. Sources suggest Atleti would prioritise a loan deal with a purchase option, though no official bid has yet been made and patience is required. Real Madrid are also keeping tabs, but Cucurella’s priority is understood to be a return to Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Manchester United and Manchester City are closely following developments.

Chelsea’s position is clear: the club has accepted Cucurella’s desire to leave and is ready to sanction a move if the right offer arrives this summer. His contract runs until 2029, and Chelsea value him in the €50–55M range, a figure that will be decisive in negotiations.

Cucurella is keen on an exit

Cucurella himself believes leaving Chelsea is the best solution for both parties. He has instructed his agents not to update him during Spain’s World Cup campaign, preferring to manage the process calmly and finalise his decision afterwards.

In conclusion, Marc Cucurella’s case is shaping up to be one of the headline stories of the summer market. The financial dimension, combined with the involvement of Europe’s biggest clubs, will determine the outcome.

Chelsea’s valuation, Barcelona’s registration issues, Atlético’s formal steps, and the strategies of Real Madrid and Manchester United stand out as the key factors determining Cucurella’s next destination.
