The Redmi Note 17 series is making its debut on July 14 — this Tuesday. The brand has confirmed a few specs before launch, including the Note 17 being its first phone with a 7-inch screen. Now, tipster Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo has shared more detailed specifications for the upcoming Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro. 

Redmi Note 17 / Note 17 Pro Specifications

According to the leak, the standard Redmi Note 17 will run on a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor. The phone is said to feature a 7-inch 1080p Samsung E4 Pro display with brightness ranging between 1200 and 1800 nits. Power comes from an 8000mAh battery with 45W wired charging, along with 22.5W wired reverse charging support. 

On the camera front, the phone is tipped to carry a 50MP main sensor, along with a short-focus optical in-display fingerprint sensor. The device is also said to carry an IP65 rating and use a plastic frame.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro, meanwhile, is tipped to come with a more powerful Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset. It is said to sport a 6.83-inch 1.5K flagship-level flat display with peak brightness of up to 3500 nits. The Pro variant is expected to house a larger 9000mAh battery with 67W wired charging and the same 22.5W wired reverse charging. 

Like the standard model, it is also tipped to include a 50MP main camera and a short-focus optical fingerprint sensor. Durability appears to be a bigger focus on the Pro, with reported IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, compared to the IP65 rating on the standard Note 17. Both phones are said to retain a plastic frame despite the upgrades.

These figures largely match what the company has already confirmed through official teasers, which had detailed the Note 17 Pro’s 9000mAh battery, 67W charging, and 3500-nit display ahead of launch. 

The design of both models has also been revealed already, confirming a new rectangular camera module placed in the top-left corner of the rear panel.

Redmi has officially revealed several key details about the upcoming Redmi Note 17 ahead of its launch in China on July 14. Company executives have confirmed some of the biggest upgrades coming to the standard model, including its display, battery and a new colour option, giving buyers a clearer idea of what to expect from the next-generation budget smartphone.

Redmi Note 17 gets Redmi’s biggest OLED display yet

The Redmi Note 17 will feature the largest OLED display ever seen on a Redmi smartphone, measuring 7 inches diagonally. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, reaches up to 1200 nits of global brightness, and includes Xiaomi’s eye protection technology for more comfortable viewing.

Compared to the previous Redmi Note 15, which featured a 6.77-inch display, the new model takes a noticeable step up in size, making it one of the few smartphones in its segment to offer a 7-inch screen.

Redmi has also unveiled the Meteor Purple color variant, which features a distinctive streak-inspired finish on the rear panel. The official images suggest the standard Note 17 retains a flat design with a plastic frame, while the rear camera module carries a layout similar to the Pro model but with a different camera arrangement.

Another major highlight is the 8000mAh battery, which is uncommon in this price segment. Redmi is positioning the device as a long-lasting smartphone capable of handling heavy daily use without frequent charging. While the company has not revealed charging specifications for the standard model yet, the larger battery is expected to be one of its biggest selling points.

Redmi has also highlighted durability as a key focus for the Note 17 series, promising improved drop resistance and water protection across the lineup. The series will debut on July 14 at 7 pm in China, where Redmi is expected to announce the complete specifications, pricing and availability for both the Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro.
