De Zerbi a huge admirer but Liverpool are already in talks to sign ‘incredible’ talent

19 June 2026 at 18:00

Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to sign Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace during the summer transfer window.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, they were hoping to sign Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United, but the move seems unlikely. Therefore, they have decided to switch their attention towards the Crystal Palace star.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are also interested in signing Wharton and have already held talks with the player’s representatives in recent weeks. Manchester United have been monitoring him for quite some time. The 21-year-old is one of the most talented young players in the Premier League, and he has all the tools to develop into a future star. There is no doubt that he could prove to be an exceptional acquisition for Tottenham.

Roberto De Zerbi is reportedly a huge admirer of the 21-year-old, and he believes that he has the technical ability and composure to control the tempo of the game and protect the defensive unit from the midfield. He has been hailed as “incredible”.

Crystal Palace will not want to lose a talented player like him, and they are likely to demand a premium. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham is prepared to break the Bank for him.

With Liverpool interested in signing the player, this could be a difficult move for Tottenham. Liverpool will be able to offer him Champions League football, and they have a more ambitious project. The 21-year-old midfielder could be attracted to the idea of joining them. Liverpool needs a specialist defensive midfielder, and Wharton would be the ideal investment. He could form a solid partnership with Ryan Gravenberch at the heart of the Liverpool midfield.

Manchester United need more quality in the middle of the park as well, and it is no surprise that they are keen on the 21-year-old. They are looking to rebuild the midfield this summer, and someone like Wharton could be a game-changer for them.

Tottenham eye blockbuster deal for £120m star but he would prefer Arsenal

19 June 2026 at 16:40

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali during the summer transfer window.

According to a report from SportsBoom, Newcastle will demand around £100 million for the Italian International. The asking price could be a huge problem for any club hoping to sign the player.

The 26-year-old has been outstanding in the Premier League, and he could be the ideal acquisition for them. They need someone who can protect the defensive unit and win the ball back for them in the middle of the park. The Italian is calm and composed with the ball at his feet as well.

The report claims that Arsenal are also interested in the Newcastle star, and that he would prefer to join them rather than Tottenham.

Tonali has immense respect for Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi, and they have already discussed the possibility of working together. However, the Newcastle star is still leaning towards a move to Arsenal. It will be interesting to see if Arsenal come forward with an offer to him. They could use more defensive cover in the midfield, and the Italian could be an outstanding addition.

It is no surprise that he is interested in joining the Gunners. They won the Premier League title last season and reached the final of the UEFA Champions League. Tonali is at the peak of his career, and he will look to compete at the highest level and fight for major trophies. Arsenal is certainly better placed to provide him with that platform.

Tottenham have finished 17th in the league table in the last two seasons. They will need to do a lot of convincing if they want to bring in top-quality players like Tonali this summer.

Tottenham and Man United set sights on €40m gem with Europe’s elite all watching

19 June 2026 at 16:00

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Belgian midfielder Nathan De Cat.

According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United are also interested in signing the 17-year-old Anderlecht midfielder.

The defensive midfielder is highly rated across Europe and has a bright future. He could cost around €40 million this summer. Both Premier League clubs have the financial muscle to pay the asking price, and it remains to be seen whether they follow up on their interest with an official proposal.

Tottenham need a quality defensive midfielder who can protect the back four and control the tempo of the game from the deep. De Cat is an excellent passer from the deep, and he will help recycle possession.

Similarly, Manchester United need a replacement for Casemiro. They have been linked with multiple defensive midfielders in recent weeks.

Even though the 17-year-old might not be ready to start every week in the Premier League, he could still be a useful first player for now. He has all the tools to develop into a future star with the right guidance, and he could prove to be an asset for both clubs. The asking price seems reasonable for a player with his potential, and he could justify the investment in the long term.

Both Tottenham and Manchester United will be exciting destinations for the young midfielder. However, he needs to choose his next club carefully. He should look to join a team with a clear pathway for his development, and he will also need first-team opportunities.

It remains to be seen where he ends up.

Clubs like Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig, and VfB Stuttgart are also keeping tabs on the youngster.

Tottenham’s summer rebuild just got bigger as insider drops major transfer claim

19 June 2026 at 02:41

Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has shared an incredibly exciting update on X following the high-profile confirmation of Jan Paul van Hecke’s arrival.

The reliable club source has outlined an aggressive, wide-ranging recruitment drive designed to give North London a massive facelift ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Tottenham insider says seven new signings expected this summer

Replying to a curious supporter on X regarding Tottenham’s remaining transfer plans after the signing of Van Hecke, O’Keefe revealed that the club plans to make seven signings and outlined the positions it will look to bolster next.

He said: “LW, RW, CM, CF in an ideal world. Heard they want 7 signings”

According to O’Keefe, Spurs are actively working to secure a new left winger, right winger, central midfielder, and a center forward.

With the £52 million deal for Brighton’s Van Hecke already secured, the total number of targeted high-profile arrivals stands at a whopping seven new faces before the conclusion of the summer trading window.

Spurs board fully backing Roberto De Zerbi with early business

The breakneck speed and expansive scale of Tottenham’s summer operations signal that the board is fully backing manager Roberto De Zerbi.

De Zerbi was appointed towards the end of last season, coming in to save Spurs from a historic relegation.

The Italian made an instant impact and successfully inspired the broken team, helping them survive the relegation on the final day of the season.

De Zerbi has made it clear that he wants Spurs right at the top, fighting with the big clubs and has started rebuilding the squad this summer.

Instead of waiting for deadline-day bargains, the recruitment team has acted proactively to land De Zerbi’s primary targets early.

They have already agreed deals with former Liverpool star Andy Robertson and Bournemouth’s Marcos Senesi, both of whom will join Spurs on a free transfer.

Jan Paul van Hecke becomes the third signing of the summer while Manchester City’s Savinho and Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali remain strongly linked with a move as well.

Liverpool set for stunning raid on Premier League rival in major summer transfer push

19 June 2026 at 01:58

Liverpool are aggressively knocking on the door for Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven, according to a prominent report from respected De Telegraaf journalist Mike Verweij.

The Reds are monitoring the situation closely as they plan to overhaul parts of their defensive unit under newly appointed manager Andoni Iraola.

Liverpool and Barcelona want Tottenham star Micky van de Ven

Verweij dropped a massive transfer update revealing that Liverpool and Barcelona are the two European powerhouses positioning themselves to pounce on Van de Ven.

Both elite clubs are looking to pry the lightning-fast central defender away from Tottenham for a potentially cut-price fee.

Van de Ven’s incredible recovery speed and elite ball-playing abilities have made him one of the most desired left-footed center-backs in European football, aligning perfectly with both Barcelona’s high line and Iraola’s vertical system at Anfield.

For Liverpool, he could be the ideal long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk, his Dutch compatriot.

Roberto De Zerbi reluctant to part ways despite Van Hecke arrival

Despite the intense concrete interest in the player, Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi will not be keen on parting ways with Micky van de Ven.

De Zerbi, who took over the reins at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium towards the end of last season, views the flying Dutchman as an absolutely indispensable foundational pillar for his tactical project.

The Lilywhites did pull off a massive coup by finalising a £52 million (€60m) deal for fellow Dutch international defender Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton.

However, De Zerbi does not view Van Hecke as a replacement for Van de Ven. Instead, it appears that the Italian tactician dreams of pairing the two Netherlands international center-backs together to form a formidable, robust spine in his new-look defense.

Former scout Micky Brown has also claimed that De Zerbi will be reluctant to lose him. He said:

“Everybody knows what he brings to the team, he’s got blistering pace, which means he can recover and make these last-ditch challenges, and that can be so important.

“That’s why there’s a lot of interest in him; there’s been talk about Liverpool and others, so he could be tempted to move on.

“From Tottenham’s point of view, with De Zerbi coming in, there will be some hope that they can convince him to stay.

“The new manager wants to build around him; he wants him to be part of his team and the project he’s putting in place.

“He can work with him to iron out some of the issues in his game, if he can contain that pace for the right moments and not go marauding up the pitch, for example.

“He will hope to have the chance to do that, so that means blocking any possible exit for now, and trying to convince him that staying could still be an option.

“It may be difficult, and we’ll see where it goes, but from a Spurs point of view, they are going to be very reluctant to lose him.”

Leaving Spurs’ hands tied, any incoming bid will require an astronomical package to force a sale.

World Cup star being heavily scouted by Chelsea as he’s open to transfer

18 June 2026 at 13:51

Chelsea are reportedly showing an interest in Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall and scouting him heavily at this summer’s World Cup.

The 20-year-old will be one to watch if you follow World Cup 2026 news as he could be a key player for the Swedish national team as they make a strong start to the tournament.

According to Simon Phillips, Bergvall is now someone being closely monitored by Chelsea as they sense he could be open to leaving Tottenham this summer.

It was a difficult season for Spurs, who only narrowly avoided relegation with a win on the final day of the Premier League season, so work is needed to fix Roberto De Zerbi’s squad.

This surely also means some sales could be likely, with a talented young player like Bergvall perhaps likely to be tempted to look elsewhere for opportunities.

Could Chelsea swoop for Lucas Bergvall?

Chelsea have been mentioned to us as suitors for Bergvall before, and it seems this is increasingly likely to be one to watch.

It will be interesting to see how the Sweden international performs at the World Cup, as that could be key to earning him a big move.

It’s not easy to flourish in this under-performing Tottenham side, but Bergvall might look better with his national side, who thrashed Tunisia 5-1 in their opening group game.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

Chelsea could be a good destination for Bergvall if he does look to leave Spurs for a new challenge, with the Blues showing they’re prepared to invest in young players for the future.

On the other hand, it’s debatable if a move to Stamford Bridge would be enough of a step up, as they were also pretty poor in 2025/26, finishing trophyless and in 10th place in the Premier League, meaning they won’t be in Europe next season.

THFC need a lot of work to improve, but that’s true of their London rivals as well, so it might be more realistic to see Bergvall moving if even bigger clubs end up looking into a transfer.

Man United and Tottenham battle for £50m winger impressing at the World Cup

18 June 2026 at 10:05

Manchester United and Tottenham have both made moves to sign West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville, with the Dutch forward emerging as one of the most interesting attacking names on the market.

According to TEAMtalk, both clubs have taken steps towards a potential deal, with West Ham expected to demand around £50m.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

That is a big fee, but it reflects the player’s age, profile and the level of interest around him.

Summerville has impressed despite West Ham’s relegation from the Premier League, and that is exactly why bigger clubs are watching.

He brings pace, direct running and the ability to attack defenders one-v-one, qualities both United and Spurs have lacked at different points.

Why Man United are interested

For Man United, this deal makes plenty of sense.

The club are still dealing with uncertainty around Marcus Rashford’s future, and The Sun has reported that United’s interest in Summerville could be linked to their wider plan on the left wing.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

United need more consistency in attack. Summerville would not arrive as a guaranteed superstar, but he fits the kind of player they should be targeting: Premier League-tested, still developing and hungry for a bigger platform.

Tottenham’s need is just as clear

Tottenham’s interest is also understandable. Spurs are reshaping their attack under Roberto De Zerbi and need wide players who can stretch teams, press aggressively and contribute goals.

Summerville’s mobility and technical sharpness would suit a high-energy system.

There is also the World Cup factor. Summerville scored for the Netherlands in their 2-2 draw against Japan and showed his quality.

This feels like a transfer race that could move quickly. West Ham may want £50m, but relegation puts pressure on them.

For United and Tottenham, the question is simple: who moves first with a serious offer?

Tottenham ‘actively in talks’ for £100m midfielder as journalist drops exciting update

18 June 2026 at 03:42

Sandro Tonali remains a high-profile summer target this summer with plenty of interest from Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Manchester City, and Tottenham.

The Italian midfielder’s future at St James’ Park has become one of the defining narratives of the transfer window, as rival heavyweights prepare to battle for his coveted signature.

Ben Jacobs shares update on Sandro Tonali

Respected transfer journalist Ben Jacobs took to X to shed light on the developing situation on Tyneside, confirming that Eddie Howe’s side are bracing themselves for a highly competitive bidding war.

According to Jacobs, Tottenham and Manchester City are both actively in talks with the player’s camp.

New Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi has reportedly identified his compatriot a top target to rebuild the North London club’s midfield.

Meanwhile, Manchester City view Tonali as an ideal elite midfielder to add supreme tactical depth to their engine room.

They aren’t the only ones keeping a watchful eye on the situation. Arsenal enquired in January and are still assessing midfield options for this summer, meaning a late swoop from Mikel Arteta’s side cannot be entirely ruled out as they look to finalise their roster structure.

Jacobs shared the following update:

“Newcastle braced for bids for Sandro Tonali and expecting multiple suitors. Spurs and Manchester City both in talks.

“Arsenal enquired in January and are still assessing midfield options for this summer. A return to Italy very unlikely due to cost, even though Tonali wants to play in Serie A again one day. Newcastle looking for around £100m including add-ons.”

Newcastle set staggering £100m price tag

While Tonali is reportedly open to exploring these ambitious projects, any prospective buyer will have to shatter their transfer records to secure him.

Newcastle are holding an incredibly firm negotiating position, looking for around £100m including add-ons to let their midfield maestro depart.

A return to Italy is very unlikely due to cost, even though Tonali wants to play in Serie A again one day.

Sandro Tonali’s Newcastle statistics show why clubs are interested

Tonali has been a key player for Newcastle since signing from AC Milan. Serving as the functional engine of Newcastle’s tactical setup, his consistency across multiple fronts has been exemplary.

He has made 110 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 10 and assisting another 10.

Boasting a passing accuracy of 84.4% and executing 71 accurate long balls this past season, he ranks among the upper tier of European deep-lying playmakers.

Whichever club wins the race to sign him, would no doubt be significantly bolstering their midfield.

Watch: €50m Tottenham & Aston Villa target scores stunning goal vs England

18 June 2026 at 00:52

Croatia have equalised against England courtesy of a wonder goal from Martin Baturina.

Harry Kane gave his side the lead early in the game, after Luka Modric brought down Noni Madueke inside the box.

The England captain stood up but saw his initial penalty saved. However, he was given a second chance by the referee due to the keeper being off the line and made no mistake in the second time of asking.

However, Croatia responded not too long after with Baturina scoring a peach of a goal to make it 1-1.

The Como star linked with a move to the Premier League struck the ball from outside the box, straight in to the top left corner.

Jordan Pickford just about got a hand to it but not enough to keep it out.

It's a cracking hit!

— ITV Football (@itvfootball) June 17, 2026

Tottenham and Aston Villa have reportedly made a €50m bid for Martin Baturina

Baturina’s world-class impact on the international stage comes amid intense speculation regarding his domestic future.

Reports indicate that Tottenham and Aston Villa have reportedly made a €50m bid for Martin Baturina to tempt Serie A outfit Como into a summer sale.

Spurs’ bid has been reported by Portuguese journalist Pedro Almeida who reported earlier in June that the North London club has presented an offer around €50m to Como for Baturina.

And reports of Aston Villa’s bid for the player comes from Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), who reported that Unai Emery’s side have bid in the region of €50m and €55m for the player.

Leeds have also been linked with the player in the past.

Robero De Zerbi’s side are busy rebuilding the squad, already signing the likes of Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi. Spurs are also closing in on a deal for Jan Paul van Hecke.

Adding Baturina would no doubt be a quality signing for the club, with the club looking to bolster its midfield this summer.

Spurs told it would cost club record fee to sign exceptional Premier League midfielder

17 June 2026 at 15:00

Tottenham are trying to make a splash this summer, and signing Sandro Tonali would do just that for them.

If you enjoy CaughtOffside coverage and want to see more of it, add us as a preferred source on Google to make us a favourite and see more of our content.

After narrowly avoiding relegation last season, Tottenham are making big moves to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

They’ve already bought a couple of players, and have bids for others in. A very ambitious move being talked about now is one for Sandro Tonali of Newcastle.

Tottenham ready to spend big to avoid more relegation fears

Matt Barlow of the Daily Mail has some very interesting coverage of the interest where he points out that signing Tonli is going to shatter Spurs’ existing record for transfer fee paid.

Dom Solanke cost them £65m in 2024, but Tonali will be a lot more. He’s 26 and has multiple years left on his contract. Barlow points out that, if Elliot Anderson goes to Manchester City for £100m, Tonali is unlikely to go for much less.

It would be a sign of Spurs’ determination to move away from the relegation zone and back towards competing for Europe under new manager Roberto de Zerbi, who seems to be a key factor in the push for Tonali.

In other news…

Morgan Rogers could be on the move this summer – but Arsenal will need him to start pushing for a move himself as they try to bring down a potentially massive transfer fee.

Luka Vuskovic is a name which is going to become very familiar to a lot of people this summer as a number of Premier League teams try to sign him.

BBC report on £30m defender offer makes Premier League team’s plan very clear

17 June 2026 at 13:09

Brighton won’t be making a new offer for Luka Vuskovic after their opening £30m proposal was rejected.

If you enjoy CaughtOffside coverage and want to see more of it, add us as a preferred source on Google to make us a favourite and see more of our content.

Luka Vuskovic is a name which football fans are getting more and more familiar with.

He had an exceptional season at on loan at Hamburg, showing himself to be one of the best young central defenders in Europe.

Now he’s returning to Tottenham – but a host of teams are lining up to test the club’s resolve over keeping him.

Luka Vuskovic could move – but it won’t be to Brighton

One team who won’t be in the mix to sign the Croatian talent is Brighton, it seems, A BBC Sport report today contradicts recent rumours that the Seagulls will try to sign Vuskovic after Jan Paul van Hecke agreed a move to go the other way.

Simon Stone claimed Brighton have “no immediate plans to make a fresh offer,” after a £30m proposal was rejected.

Van Hecke will need replacing, but there is a lot of summer left, and the Seagulls famously do very clever work in the market. They won’t be panicking, and they won’t be made to overpay by anyone at any point.

In other news…

The first big deal of the summer is yet to come – but some teams fear a huge move for the likes of Elliot Anderson moving could reset the summer market.

PSG and Arsenal are the two teams most strongly linked with breakout star of the World Cup, Ayyoud Bouaddi. They will have to break records to sign him, however.

Fee set: Tottenham want £60m for transfer deal with PL club to go through

17 June 2026 at 10:00

Tottenham reportedly want as much as £60m for talented young centre-back Luka Vuskovic as Brighton attempt to find a compromise on the transfer.

It’s previously been reported by the Athletic that Brighton have made a £30m bid for Vuskovic, but it seems that’s a long way off what Spurs have in mind for the Croatia international.

According to the latest info from Football Insider, there is still a desire from Brighton to strike a deal, but there would have to be a compromise somewhere as they’re not willing to pay Spurs’ £60m asking price.

Want more CaughtOffside coverage? Add us as a preferred source on Google to your favourites list for news you can trust

The report suggests, however, that Vuskovic himself could be keen on the potential move, and it would be fair to say that there are plenty of good reasons for that.

Brighton transfer could be ideal for Luka Vuskovic’s development

How many times in recent years have top young players shone in Brighton’s set-up and gone on to earn big moves?

A lot of those have ended up at Chelsea – Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella, and Joao Pedro – but there have been similar success stories like Ben White and Leandro Trossard, now at Arsenal, and there could be another to come very soon as Jan Paul van Hecke looks to be set for a move to Tottenham, as per David Ornstein’s post below…

? EXCL: Tottenham Hotspur reach agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to sign Jan Paul van Hecke. Deal for 26yo #Netherlands int’l worth £52m fixed, no add-ons. Luka Vuskovic situation separate; 2nd #BHAFC offer worth £35m rejected by #THFC @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/1D4yy6dJp3

Ornstein has stressed that the Vuskovic deal is separate from this one, but it’s also easy to imagine that it could have some influence on how that pans out.

Vuskovic will want regular playing time, and it now looks that much more likely that Brighton would be a better bet for offering that than Spurs.

THFC have a big decision to make here, and it seems that by working on a deal for Van Hecke, there might not be much room for Vuskovic in their first-team plans for the season ahead.

Football Insider suggest the north Londoners would rather keep the player, so perhaps another loan could be the compromise that works best for everyone.

Tottenham plotting statement move for £100m star after agreeing Van Hecke deal

16 June 2026 at 22:10

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United during the summer transfer window.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, the Premier League side will only sanction his departure if an offer exceeds £100 million. The 26-year-old has been outstanding for Newcastle, and there is no doubt that Tonali would be a superb addition to Tottenham.

DOWNLOAD THE OFFICIAL CAUGHTOFFSIDE APP FOR ALL THE LATEST & BREAKING UPDATES – STRAIGHT TO YOUR PHONE! ON APPLE & GOOGLE PLAY

Sandro Tonali would be a superb signing

They need more quality in the middle of the park. Tonali could be an upgrade on Joao Palhinha. The Portuguese international did an impressive job on loan at Tottenham last season, but the club has not signed him permanently yet. It seems that they are looking to bring in a younger alternative with more quality.

Tonali is excellent with the ball at his feet, and he will help control the tempo of the game. He will protect the defensive unit and win the ball back for his side as well.

However, paying over £100 million for the defensive midfielder seems unlikely. Tottenham need to improve multiple areas of the squad, and Newcastle will have to be reasonable in their demands for the move to go through.

Tottenham have agreed on a £52 million deal to sign Jan Paul van Hecke to improve the defensive unit, and signing a defensive midfielder could take them to another level.

Tonali keen on summer move

Meanwhile, Tonali is clearly open to an exit this summer. The report claims he would prefer to return to Italy, but he is unlikely to turn down a move to Tottenham if a concrete proposal is on the table.

It remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Tottenham finished 17th in the league table last season, and they will look to bounce back strongly. Signing quality players would be a step in the right direction.

Brighton eye Luka Vuskovic

According to a report from The Athletic, Brighton wants to sign Luka Vuskovic from Tottenham, but the young defender will not be a part of the deal for the Netherlands defender. It will be a separate transaction between the two clubs.

Brighton have had an offer of around £35 million for the Tottenham defender rejected, and it remains to be seen whether the two parties can reach an agreement.

Jan Paul van Hecke needed a big move

Meanwhile, Van Hecke will be delighted to have secured a move to Tottenham. He has consistently shown his quality in the Premier League, and he will look to take the next step in his career. Tottenham have an ambitious project, and he will look to fight for trophies with them.

Cristian Romero has been heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham, and they were always going to invest in a quality central defender this summer. Van Hecke has worked with Roberto De Zerbi during their time together at Brighton, and he should be able to adapt quickly and make an immediate impact at Tottenham as well.

The Brighton defender is now expected to agree on personal terms with Tottenham and finalise the move quickly. Tottenham had a disappointing season last year, and they finished 17th in the League table. They were quite poor defensively, and it remains to be seen whether the Dutch international can help them tighten up at the back.

Romano confirms Tottenham have entered race to sign top Arsenal target as they plot surprise hijack

16 June 2026 at 03:05

Tottenham are plotting an audacious move to sign Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali this summer.

Following a turbulent campaign where Spurs narrowly secured Premier League survival on the final day, the club’s hierarchy is determined to back head coach Roberto De Zerbi with a significant squad overhaul.

Having already secured high-profile signings of former Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson and Bournemouth’s Marcos Senesi, the Lilywhites have now set their sights on the highly-coveted Italian midfielder to spearhead their new era.

Tottenham enter race for Sandro Tonali

According to a sensational exclusive update from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on X, Tottenham have officially joined the high-stakes battle for Tonali’s signature.

De Zerbi reportedly views the former AC Milan dynamo as the absolute “star” needed to transform his midfield layout and immediately elevate the technical and physical levels at the club.

However, Romano added that securing the Italian international will be a massive challenge. Spurs are ready to go toe-to-toe with Premier League heavyweights Arsenal and Manchester City, both of whom have already established strong interest.

The Italian journalist posted the following update on X:

“EXCLUSIVE: Tottenham have entered the race to sign Sandro Tonali! De Zerbi wants Tonali as new star for the midfield, ideal to step up #THFC level. Spurs ready to face Man City and Arsenal in the race for Tonali for new ambitious project to prove their intentions.”

While Manchester United reportedly are concerned out of negotiations due to Newcastle’s £100 million valuation, Tottenham’s decision to enter the race signals an ambitious statement of intent under De Zerbi’s management.

Can Spurs hijack Arsenal deal?

The unexpected inclusion of Tottenham has thrown a massive wrench into Arsenal’s transfer plans.

Mikel Arteta’s side had already initiated contact with people close to Tonali, viewing him as the ideal box-to-box midfielder to complement Declan Rice.

Whether Spurs can successfully hijack the deal from the Gunners comes down to guaranteed game time and project alignment.

Unlike Arsenal, where Tonali would face stiff rotational competition from established stars, Tottenham can offer the midfielder a guaranteed focal role at the heart of De Zerbi’s tactical rebuild.

Newcastle’s failure to qualify for European football has left them vulnerable to top-tier bids, and if Tottenham can match the hefty financial package required, De Zerbi could well pull off one of the most stunning transfer hijacks of the summer window.

‘Talks are ongoing’ – Ben Jacobs reveals Spurs’ ambitious summer overhaul under De Zerbi in exciting update

16 June 2026 at 02:28

Ben Jacobs has provided an exciting update on Tottenham’s transfer plans, revealing that Roberto De Zerbi is preparing a significant squad overhaul ahead of the new season.

After a turbulent campaign that saw major changes both on and off the pitch, Spurs are expected to be one of the busiest clubs in the transfer market as De Zerbi looks to reshape the squad in his image.

The Tottenham boss is targeting reinforcements across multiple positions, with the club prioritising upgrades in defence, midfield and attack.

Ben Jacobs on Roberto De Zerbi’s summer rebuild plans

Speaking on Last Word On Spurs about Spurs’ plans, Jacobs explained that central defence remains one of the club’s biggest priorities.

“Central defence is going to be really big. We can come on to the individual players because I know you’ve got questions on Luca Vuskovic and Cristian Romero, but adding a centre back is obviously massive, and talks continue for Jan-Paul van Hecke at Brighton.

“They still have to resolve central midfielder — deep-lying midfielder — Joao Palhinha. Talks are ongoing to see if they can find a solution outside of the option to buy. Other midfielders have been looked at, including Alex Scott as well.

“A starting left winger has been on the cards since last summer. And then obviously if Rashford was to go — because I think Dom Solanke will stay — they’re going to need a number nine as well.

“So that’s basically four, five, six starters or first-team squad players across different positions. So it is going to be a busy summer, and that’s in addition, by the way, to Senesi already arriving at centre back and Andy Robertson obviously joining as a left back too.”

Jan-Paul van Hecke, Joao Palhinha and winger among key targets

According to Jacobs, Brighton defender Jan-Paul van Hecke remains a priority target as Tottenham seek to strengthen the heart of their defence.

The club are also continuing discussions regarding Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha, while Bournemouth’s Alex Scott has emerged as another player under consideration.

Further forward, Tottenham remain in the market for a starting left winger, a position they have been actively trying to strengthen since last summer.

The possibility of signing another striker has also been raised, with Spurs potentially seeking additional firepower depending on developments within their current attacking options.

Jacobs also revealed that Spurs are ‘very likely’ to sign a new goalkeeper, with PSG’s Lucas Chevalier a top target.

Spurs could be team to watch under De Zerbi next season

With significant backing expected from the club’s hierarchy, Tottenham could emerge as one of the Premier League’s most intriguing sides next season under De Zerbi.

The Italian has built a reputation for implementing an aggressive, possession-based style centred around high pressing and positional fluidity.

If Spurs can successfully complete deals for key targets such as Van Hecke and Palhinha while adding further quality in wide and attacking areas, they could quickly transform into genuine contenders for a European place.

A busy summer appears inevitable, and Tottenham’s activity in the transfer market may ultimately determine how quickly De Zerbi can restore the club to the upper reaches of the Premier League table.

“Very likely will” – Tottenham fans will love Ben Jacobs’ latest update on potential PSG signing

16 June 2026 at 01:48

Ben Jacobs has revealed Tottenham’s transfer plans for the summer in an exciting update, hinting at a major squad overhaul following a tumultuous campaign.

After a rollercoaster season that saw dramatic managerial shifts, Spurs are preparing for an intense transfer window to ensure they bounce back aggressively.

Among the various positions that could see drastic changes, the goalkeeping department has emerged as a primary focus for the club’s recruitment team.

Ben Jacobs: Tottenham likely to sign new goalkeeper

Speaking on the Last Word On Spurs YouTube channel, Jacobs outlined an ambitious strategy that could involve bringing in up to six new first-team starters.

The reshuffle begins in goal; while Guglielmo Vicario is attracting heavy interest from Italian giants Inter Milan and Juventus, young goalkeeper Anton Kinsky is highly backed by the club after making vital, outstanding saves during their survival run.

Despite trusting Kinsky, Tottenham are “very likely” to recruit a new number one. PSG’s out-of-favor Lucas Chevalier is a top target, while Newcastle leads the race for another option, James Trafford.

Jacobs said:

“Yeah, they need to look at the goalkeeper situation. Vicario has interest from both Inter and Juventus. It’s great, by the way, to see Anton Kinsky in form and having played a major role in Tottenham staying up. He made some outstanding saves.

“So under Igor Tudor it felt like he was going to go, but now I think it’s a different situation and Tottenham still back Kinsky to succeed — but could add, of course, a number one goalkeeper; in fact, very likely will.

“And Lucas Chevalier is one name. He joined PSG as a number one goalkeeper and very quickly didn’t become the number one goalkeeper, and now the player is looking to leave.

“They have explored James Trafford as well, but I would say at the moment Newcastle can be considered as the front runners there.”

Guglielmo Vicario expected to leave Tottenham for Serie A

A significant factor driving this sudden positional reset is the mounting speculation surrounding current first-choice shot-stopper Guglielmo Vicario.

Vicario has been linked with an exit since months, with several Serie A clubs after him.

As per some reports, the Italian has already agreed personal terms with Inter Milan.

This looming return to his homeland means Vicario is widely expected to leave North London this summer.

Fortunately, the club has immense faith in young prospect Anton Kinsky, who stepped up brilliantly at the tail end of the season.

Tottenham midfielder Pape Matar Sarr wanted by Brentford

Sarr enjoyed a prominent rise in North London following his move from Metz, quickly establishing himself as an athletic, box-to-box presence under the tactical setups at Tottenham.

Brentford view the midfielder as an ideal long-term asset to reshape their engine room, particularly with mounting uncertainty surrounding the contract situations of current mainstays like Mathias Jensen.

As per Sky Sports, Sarr has been identified as a key transfer target to bolster the central midfield position.

Other candidates they like include PSV’s Joey Veerman and Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney.

Sarr eyed by elite clubs including Real Madrid, PSG, and Bayern Munich

However, securing the dynamic midfielder will be a massive challenge for Brentford, as the player continues to attract heavyweight interest from across Europe.

According to the Daily Briefing, Sarr is monitored heavily by continental giants who are prepared to test Tottenham’s resolve.

“Spurs insist Sarr is not for sale, but privately they know that big clubs are going to come calling, and some may already have done so,” reported the Daily Briefing regarding the ongoing situation.

“Sarr’s value is growing and there’s a real possibility of him moving on this summer. Real Madrid, PSG, and Bayern Munich are all big fans of the player, and offers of around £50m would probably be enough.”

With Europe’s absolute elite circling and a hefty price tag established, Brentford face an uphill battle to lure Sarr to the Gtech Community Stadium.

Spurs will also face a massive task trying to convince Sarr to stay if the big names come calling.

Tottenham have decided on their asking price for elite prospect wanted by rivals

14 June 2026 at 13:00

Tottenham Hotspur have turned down Brighton’s offer for their defensive sensation Luka Vuskovic.

Tottenham’s 2025 summer signing, Luka Vuskovic, has had a sensational loan spell at Hamburg, resulting in significant interest in his services. Fellow Premier League club Brighton want to add him to their ranks ahead of next season.

Brighton are pushing hard to secure his services, and they have tabled a £30 million offer for the Croatian international, who could play an important role for his nation at the World Cup. But, according to Ben Jacobs, Spurs have turned down the offer without much thought.

Luka Vuskovic is unlikely to leave Spurs

They have no intentions of negotiating the 19-year-old centre-back’s departure, and value him at around £60 million. Following his impressive rise at Hajduk Split, Spurs secured his services last summer.

But since he was unlikely to have much game time at the North London club, they ended up sending him out on loan to the German club. During his spell at Hamburg, the teenager played 30 matches. He racked up over 2,600 minutes and finished with seven goal contributions.

Brighton will struggle to strike a deal for Vuskovic

He was a rock at the back with his strong physical presence and great aerial ability. The 19-year-old made the most out of his aerial prowess as he finished with six goals. His performances and massive potential have placed him on Brighton’s wishlist.

The Seagulls are looking for a new centre-back amidst uncertainty around the future of Jan Paul van Hecke. They consider Vuskovic an ideal fit for their system and their long-term future. However, striking a deal with Spurs won’t be easy, with their initial bid for Vuskovic turned down without much thought.
