Qualcomm confirms Snapdragon Summit 2026 dates: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 coming September 22-24

30 June 2026 at 09:52
Snapdragon Summit 2026 date

Qualcomm has officially confirmed the dates for its 2026 Snapdragon Summit. The annual event, where the company usually unveils its next flagship mobile chip, will take place from September 22nd to 24th in Hawaii.

Snapdragon Summit 2026 date

Last year, Qualcomm took the wraps off the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 during its annual Snapdragon Summit in Maui, Hawaii, and that chip went on to power devices from a long list of brands. The successor in 2026 is expected to be called Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, and it’s not coming alone.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6: What to expect

This year, leaks suggest Qualcomm is splitting its flagship lineup into two distinct chips for the first time, internally codenamed SM8950 and SM8975. Expected to be called Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, both are reportedly built on TSMC’s advanced 2nm process.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 will feature a new 2+3+3 Oryon CPU layout, along with a shared 16MB L2 cache, paired with an Adreno 845 GPU featuring a six-slice design, 12MB GMEM and 6MB system-level cache, plus support for LPDDR5X memory and UFS 5.0 storage.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6

The Gen 6 Pro, meanwhile, will use an Adreno 850 GPU with 18MB of dedicated GMEM, a 50% increase in GPU bus width and memory capacity compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, along with support for LPDDR6 memory in addition to LPDDR5X.

Clock speeds are also expected to climb. According to reports, Gen 6 Pro could reach a peak clock speed of 5GHz, which would make it the first smartphone chip to hit that mark. To handle the extra heat that comes with higher speeds, the Pro variant is also rumored to introduce new cooling tech.

A leaked block diagram revealed Qualcomm may adopt Heat Pass Block (HPB) technology, the same cooling method used in Samsung’s Exynos 2600, where a dedicated heat-spreading layer sits directly on top of the chipset package to move heat away from the silicon faster.

Now that official dates are out, expect leaks and benchmark numbers to ramp up over the coming weeks.

Apple’s 2027 iPhone Lineup Leaks: iPhone Air 2, iPhone 18 Series, and iPhone 19 Pro Already in the Works

29 June 2026 at 15:19

Apple‘s 2027 iPhone lineup is making it to the leak mill today, courtesy of tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS). The insider shared details about what Apple is planning for next year, covering both new models and early development work on future generations.

According to the leak, Apple’s 2027 lineup will include the iPhone Air 2, iPhone 18, and iPhone 18e. All three are said to come with 1.5K OLED displays.

iPhone 17 series

The iPhone Air 2 will have a 6.55-inch screen with a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate. The iPhone 18 comes in at 6.3 inches, also with 120Hz LTPO. The iPhone 18e is the smallest at 6.12 inches, and it also steps down to a 60Hz LTPS panel.

This fits with what has been reported about Apple’s split launch plan. Apple is expected to release the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone in fall 2026, with the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e following in early 2027. The iPhone Air 2 would likely be part of that same early 2027 wave.

iPhone 19 Pro and Apple’s second foldable in testing too

Beyond the standard models, the leak mentions Apple has started iPhone 19 Pro series testing and molding behind the scenes. Not surprising, since hardware development typically begins a year or more before a device hits the market.

The leak also touches on the iPhone Ultra 2, Apple’s second foldable. DCS says its foldable screen has also been tested and molded, while a previous report clarified that it will have a wider canvas than its predecessor.

On the naming, DCS notes that “iPhone 19” is a tentative label. He described it simply as “the next generation iPhone,” so the final name could be different.

For context on where the iPhone 18 currently stands, the Pro models are expected to come with a variable aperture camera system and improved image sensors, with Apple reportedly pushing a bigger gap between standard and Pro tiers this generation. More details are available in our iPhone 18 Pro upgrades breakdown.

Xiaomi Smart Solar Camera 4 Pro 4G dual-camera edition goes on crowdfunding for $80

29 June 2026 at 11:22
Xiaomi Smart Solar Camera 4 Pro 4G Launch Price Specs

Xiaomi has quietly been expanding its outdoor camera lineup in China. The company launched Xiaomi Smart Outdoor Camera 4 4G a while back with dual cameras and 4G connectivity. There’s also a Smart Outdoor Camera 4 Pro Triple-Cam Zoom Edition that has triple 3K lenses and 9x hybrid zoom.

Continuing the momentum, Xiaomi has launched a brand new solar-powered variant, called the Xiaomi Smart Solar Camera 4 Pro 4G Dual-Camera Edition.

Xiaomi Smart Solar Camera 4 Pro 4G Launch Price Specs

The camera is now live on Xiaomi Youpin for crowdfunding, with an early-bird price starting at 579 yuan (roughly $80). Crowdfunding kicks off at 10:00 AM on July 6.

Xiaomi Smart Solar Camera 4 Pro 4G Specifications

The biggest selling point of this camera is its complete independence from traditional infrastructure. It packs dual 4G SIM card support for connectivity, so that you don’t need to rely on WiFi for video streaming. And power isn’t a concern either.

The camera comes with a built-in 9,900mAh battery that Xiaomi says can last more than a week on a single charge. On top of that, it is paired with a 7.6W solar panel, meaning it can sustain itself indefinitely under normal sunlight conditions. You install it once and largely forget about it.

Xiaomi Smart Solar Camera 4 Pro 4G Specs

On the imaging side, the Solar Camera 4 Pro carries two 5-megapixel cameras, each capable of recording at 3K resolution. Both lenses also feature a large f/1.6 aperture, each with a “white light + infrared light” combination that turns on the appropriate fill light when a person is detected.

The camera also has AOV (Always-On Video) intelligent recording. Rather than recording at full frame rate all the time, the camera dynamically adjusts based on activity. When no one is around, it drops to 1 frame every 2 seconds, saving over 90% of storage space.

Security and Alerts

When something suspicious is detected, the camera plays an audible alarm and activates a flashing light to ward off intruders. It also sends a notification to the user’s phone through the Mi Home App. It supports two-way voice communication, letting you speak directly to whoever is near the camera.

The device also supports Xiaomi’s HyperConnect for integration with other Xiaomi smart home devices and carries an IP66 rating for dust and water resistance.

Pricing and Availability

The Xiaomi Smart Solar Camera 4 Pro 4G Dual-Camera Edition is available on Xiaomi Youpin starting at 579 yuan during the crowdfunding phase beginning July 6. There’s no word yet on broader retail availability or international pricing.

Xiaomi 18 battery confirmed at 7,200mAh, up from the previous generation

29 June 2026 at 08:35
Xiaomi 17

Tipster Digital Chat Station has shared that the Xiaomi 18 engineering prototype is running a 7,200mAh battery. That’s a slight increase from the Xiaomi 17‘s 7,000mAh cell. For a compact phone, this is still a strong spec, even as other phones in the market are now offering 8,000mAh and 10,000mAh batteries in larger bodies.

Earlier leaks had already pointed to the Xiaomi 18 having a bigger battery than its predecessor, and this latest update puts a number to it.

Xiaomi 18 battery capacity leak

Xiaomi 18 Specs: What We Know So Far

The Xiaomi 18 is expected to come with a 6.4-inch 2K display and ultra-narrow symmetrical bezels. It is also rumored to use SuperPixel display technology. The overall design keeps the phone compact and easy to handle.

The phone will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, the same 2nm chip found in the Pro model. This makes it one of the few compact flagships to pair a next-generation 2nm chipset with a dual 200-megapixel camera system.

Xiaomi 17

The Xiaomi 18 will feature a 200MP rear camera setup with large sensors. It will also be the first standard Xiaomi model to include a 3X periscope telephoto lens, which had previously been reserved for Pro versions. The phone also supports ultrasonic fingerprint recognition and full waterproofing.

No changes on the charging front. The Xiaomi 18 will support 100W wired charging and wireless charging, the same as before.

The back screen design seen on the Pro models will not be coming to the standard Xiaomi 18. That feature stays exclusive to the Pro lineup, as reported in our earlier Xiaomi 18 Pro Max coverage.

The Xiaomi 18 series is expected to launch in September, possibly a little earlier than last year. It will go up against the iPhone 18 Pro series around the same time.

More details are expected to surface in the weeks ahead.

Moondrop launches Edge 2 wireless headphones with 50 hours of battery, LHDC V5 for lossless sound

29 June 2026 at 07:50
Moondrop Edge 2 launch specs price

Chinese audio brand Moondrop has launched the new Moondrop Edge 2 wireless headphones. Open for pre-order in its home country, the Edge 2 are 499 yuan (~ $70) over-ear wireless headphones that improve noise cancellation by 24.4% over the original Edge.

Moondrop Edge 2 launch specs price

According to Moondrop, the headphones block out 95.5% of ambient noise below 1kHz and use AI-powered ENC (environmental noise cancellation) with beamforming microphones and a built-in NPU chip, so your voice stays clear even in loud, busy places.

The headphones are available in two color options — black and white, and black and gray — and can be ordered now through JD.com.

Moondrop Edge 2 Specifications

Under the hood, the Edge 2 uses a 40mm dynamic driver with a composite diaphragm, which is a wooden dome paired with a flexible suspension edge. Moondrop says this combination, along with a high-flux neodymium magnet and an ultra-lightweight CCAW voice coil, keeps distortion low while delivering a full, rich sound.

On the wireless side, the headphones support LHDC V5 for high-resolution audio streaming. They are also compatible with LDAC, both of which offer significantly better audio quality than standard Bluetooth codecs.

Vivo X Fold 6

Vivo launched the X Fold 6 foldable smartphone in China on June 26, and as we covered in our launch article, the phone starts at 7,999 yuan (~$1,175) for the base 12GB+256GB model. It brings some serious hardware to the table, a 200MP ZEISS main camera, a Dimensity 9500 chip, a massive 7,000mAh battery, and both inner and outer AMOLED displays hitting up to 5,000 nits.

But if you’re dropping that kind of money on a foldable, you probably want to know what repairs will cost if something goes wrong. Well, Vivo has now published the official pricing for repair parts on its website.

Vivo X Fold 6 Repair Price

As expected with any foldable phone, the inner screen is the most expensive part to replace. The internal screen is priced at 3,780 yuan (~$556), though Vivo is offering a 25% discount for the first repair, bringing it down to 2,835 yuan (~$417).

There’s also a reserved (pre-booked) price of 3,380 yuan (~$497) for those who plan ahead. If only the single inner screen panel needs replacing (not the full component), that comes in at 1,899 yuan (~$279).

  • Rear wide-angle camera: 110 yuan (~$16)
  • Rear periscope camera: 290 yuan (~$43)
  • Rear main camera (200MP): 390 yuan (~$57)

The motherboard prices depend on the storage variant you own:

  • 12GB+256GB: 3,700 yuan (~$544)
  • 12GB+512GB: 4,200 yuan (~$617)
  • 16GB+512GB: 4,700 yuan (~$691)
  • 16GB+1TB: 5,200 yuan (~$764)

The charger set, if needed, is available for 199 yuan (~$29).

Labor Costs

One important thing to note is that all repair costs listed above cover parts only. Outside the warranty period, Vivo charges an additional 50 yuan labor fee per repair visit, but if multiple parts are replaced in the same visit, you only pay the labor fee once.

Asus ROG vs Lenovo Legion: Best Gaming Laptops Under $1,800 in the US

27 June 2026 at 17:09
Asus ROG Strix G16 (2026) vs Lenovo legion 5i Gen 11

If you are looking for a powerful gaming laptop within a budget of $1800, you are likely to run into a situation to choose either Asus’ ROG or Lenovo’s Legion. Both brands offer top-of-the-line gaming PCs with premium builds, superior thermals, and an understated design that can also blend into an office setting.

Asus ROG Strix G16 (2026) vs Lenovo legion 5i Gen 11

However, there are areas where the two brands differ, and we will discuss them here, along with a one-on-one comparison of the Asus ROG Strix G16 (2025) and Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 10 (2025).

Who Are These Brands?

Asus ROG (Republic of Gamers) has been making dedicated gaming hardware for years. The ROG lineup is split into sub-series — Strix for raw power, Zephyrus for slim portability, and Flow for tablet-style flexibility — to cater to buyers of their exact needs.

Lenovo Legion has built a strong reputation since 2016 for delivering reliable gaming laptops at competitive prices. The Legion line spans from budget-friendly picks to high-end powerhouses, with a cooling system called Coldfront that uses vapor chambers and optimized airflow to keep temperatures in check during long sessions.

The Contenders Under $1,800

Asus ROG Strix G16 (2026)

The Strix G16 is the most accessible 2026 ROG laptop you can buy under $1,800. For 2026, Asus fitted it with Intel’s Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 or RTX 5070 GPU options. The RTX 5060 configuration starts at around $1,599, putting it squarely in budget.

The screen is a 16-inch 2.5K (2560×1600) display at a fast 300Hz refresh rate, up from 240Hz on the 2025 model. That is one of the fastest screens you will find at this price. Asus calls it a Nebula Display, and it supports 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, meaning games and videos look punchy and accurate. The ACR (Ambient Contrast Ratio) anti-reflective coating significantly reduces glare, which is useful in bright rooms.

Asus ROG Strix G16 (2026)

Cooling is where the Strix G16 really stands out. Asus designed a multi-layer vapor chamber that goes all the way to the rear of the chassis and is sandwiched between upper and lower heatsinks. Combined with Tri-Fan Technology and Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal applied to both the CPU and GPU, it runs quieter than you would expect for a machine this powerful. On the practical side, the 2026 Strix G16 also introduces a tool-less upgrade design: you can swap out RAM and SSD without a screwdriver, and a Q-latch system makes storage swaps even faster.

One thing to keep in mind: the base RTX 5060 model uses a 1080p IPS panel (not OLED) at some retailers, while Asus’s own store configurations offer the higher-resolution 2.5K Nebula Display. Check the exact model number before buying.

Starting price: Around $1,599 (RTX 5060, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD)

Lenovo Legion 5i Gen 11 / Legion 5a Gen 11 (2026)

Lenovo’s new 2026 budget gaming heroes are the Legion 5i Gen 11 (Intel-powered) and the Legion 5a Gen 11 (AMD-powered). Both were announced at CES 2026 and started shipping in April 2026.

The Legion 5i Gen 11 is built on Intel’s new Panther Lake silicon and starts at $1,549. The Legion 5a Gen 11 with AMD Ryzen AI 400 series starts at $1,499, and a lower-tier Ryzen 200 variant begins at just $1,299. All configurations come with NVIDIA RTX 50-series GPUs capped at the RTX 5060.

Lenovo Legion 5i Gen 11

The display across the 5-series is a 15.3-inch PureSight OLED, running at 2560×1600 resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of brightness, and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification. OLED panels produce true blacks and much more vivid color than standard IPS or even most other panels — this is a clear advantage over the Strix G16’s base IPS option.

Lenovo’s Coldfront cooling system uses vapor chambers and optimized airflow, and the higher-end 5-series models also apply liquid metal thermal compound. The build is all-metal across the board — no plastic lids or creaky hinges. Software-wise, Lenovo’s AI Engine+ automatically manages CPU and GPU power in real time depending on what you are doing, and every laptop ships with Lenovo’s Legion Space app, which handles everything from RGB lighting to AI-powered game coaching tools that analyze your reaction time and in-game accuracy.

Starting price: Around $1,299–$1,549 (RTX 5060, 16GB RAM, 512GB–1TB SSD)

Head-to-Head Comparison

Performance

Both laptops run NVIDIA RTX 5060 GPUs with DLSS 4 support. At the same GPU tier, performance is very close. The Lenovo Legion 5i Gen 11’s newer Panther Lake Intel chip gives it a slight edge in CPU-heavy workloads like video editing and streaming. For pure gaming frame rates, results are nearly identical between the two at this GPU tier.

Display

This is the biggest difference between the two. Lenovo’s OLED PureSight panel delivers deeper blacks, faster pixel response times, and more vibrant color than the IPS panel found on the base Strix G16 configurations. However, if you opt for Asus’s own-store version of the Strix G16, you get a 2.5K 300Hz Nebula Display that is significantly sharper and faster than Lenovo’s 165Hz OLED. So the winner here depends on what you value more: OLED richness (Lenovo) or higher refresh rate and sharper resolution (Asus).

Cooling

Both laptops use vapor chambers and are well-cooled for sustained gaming. Asus applies Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal to both chips, not just the CPU — this is a slight edge for the ROG Strix G16 in long, heavy gaming sessions where temperatures matter most.

Portability

Lenovo has a meaningful edge here. The Legion 5-series is a 15.3-inch machine, making it more compact than the 16-inch Strix G16. Lenovo also engineered a lighter, thinner chassis for the 2026 models, which Lenovo says is about 10% lighter than the previous generation. If you carry your laptop often, the Legion 5 wins.

Upgradeability

Both laptops are easier to upgrade than the average gaming machine. The ROG Strix G16 introduced a tool-less RAM and SSD access design in 2026, rivaling the Legion’s existing upgrade-friendly design. Neither laptop soldered its RAM to the board, so you can add memory later as your needs grow.

Value

Lenovo offers a lower entry price and an OLED display right out of the box. Asus offers a faster screen at higher configs. For buyers on a tight budget, the Legion 5a Gen 11 at $1,299 is hard to beat. For buyers who want the fastest display and best thermal performance, the ROG Strix G16 at $1,599 earns its price.

Which One Should You Buy?

Go with the Lenovo Legion 5a Gen 11 if you want the most value for money, prefer an OLED display, or carry your laptop frequently. The $1,299 entry price is exceptional for what you get, and the OLED screen makes everyday use genuinely enjoyable.

Go with the Asus ROG Strix G16 (2026) if you want the fastest screen (300Hz), the best cooling at this price range, or a larger 16-inch display for gaming. It costs a bit more, but Asus’s upgrade-friendly tool-less design and superior thermal engineering make it a machine that can grow with you.

Both are excellent choices for 2026 gaming. Either way, you are getting a laptop built for the next several years of AAA titles.
