Man United and Man City to battle it out for £70 million-rated Premier League star

Manchester City, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on Everton defensive mainstay Jarrad Branthwaite.

Jarrad Branthwaite has established himself as one of the best young defenders in the Premier League with his consistent performances for Everton, resulting in significant interest in his services.

According to a report from The Daily Mail, Manchester City, Manchester United and Bayern Munich are keen on signing the English international. All three clubs are keeping a close eye on him and could launch a move in the summer if any of their key defenders end up leaving.

Jarrard Branthwaite could leave for £70 million

While the Toffees would love to have him around for years to come, they would be open to sanctioning his departure for £70 million. On the back of an impressive loan spell at PSV Eindhoven during the 2022/23 season, he got an extended run in the Everton first team and hasn’t looked back since.

However, things haven’t been that great for him over the last 12 months. He could only make 10 appearances during the 2025/26 season, as a hamstring injury kept him on the sidelines. Despite his recent injury struggles, the interest in his services remains sky-high.

European giants could battle it out for Branthwaite

Manchester United, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich are three clubs that are interested in his services. With Kim Min-jae’s future uncertain, the German giants consider him an ideal replacement.

Meanwhile, he has been on United’s wishlist for a long-time. With Harry Maguire in the final phase of his career and Matthijs de Ligt struggling to stay fit, investing in the 23-year-old would make a lot of sense.

Even City have a long-standing interest in his services and could make a move if Ruben Dias leaves the club. While all three clubs are monitoring him and would love to add him to their ranks, it remains to be seen whether they would be willing to meet Everton’s demands.

Liverpool hoping to strike a deal with player who could be a ‘huge star’

Liverpool are pushing hard to agree a new deal with their attacking sensation, Rio Ngumoha, amidst interest from Bayern Munich.

Following a sensational rise, Rio Ngumoha has attracted considerable interest from across Europe. While there is a significant amount of time left on his current deal, his future has become a massive talking point amidst interest from Bayern Munich.

According to Pete O’Rourke via Football Insider, Liverpool are worried about his future and will look to tie him down to a new deal once he turns 18, as there have been suggestions that the German giants have agreed personal terms with the teenager and will look to secure his services.

Liverpool to push for a new deal for Rio Ngumoha

While speaking about the English youth internationals’ future, O’Rourke said, “Obviously Liverpool are not planning to lose Rio Ngumoha any time soon. He’s seen as a huge star for the future for the Anfield club.

“He’s under contract until 2028, but I think Liverpool’s officials will be very keen to sit down with Ngumoha’s representatives and try and thrash out a new deal when he turns 18 in a few months.

“Liverpool are obviously unhappy with this suggestion that Bayern Munich have agreed personal terms with the player to try and get a deal done.”

Ngumoha was officially promoted to the Reds’ first team last summer, but he had already been playing first-team football. While he is widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects in English football and Liverpool considers him an integral part of their long-term plans, his future has been up in the air following a season where he was underused by Arne Slot.

Bayern want to lure Ngumoha away from Anfield

Although he was involved in 29 first-team games, he logged fewer than 1,000 minutes and contributed to three goals. Bayern see this as a great opportunity to try and lure him away. They are looking for more quality on the flanks. They want someone who can both support and compete with Luis Diaz for a place in the starting XI.

The German club consider Ngumoha an ideal fit for their project. Reports suggest they have already agreed terms with the 17-year-old. These rumours haven’t pleased the Reds, who are now looking to secure his future with a new deal.

While he signed his first professional deal weeks after turning 17 last September, and the contract runs until 2028, Liverpool are now pushing hard to agree a new contract with the versatile forward. They will offer him fresh terms once he turns 18 later this year. They are looking to ward off interest from Bayern and other top clubs with a new long-term contract.

The Merseyside club consider him an integral part of their plans going forward, and they believe he will have a big role under Andoni Iraola next season.

Bayern plot shock summer move as Man United exit saga takes new twist

Bayern Munich are reportedly taking a serious look at a summer move for Marcus Rashford as Manchester United continue to search for a permanent solution to the forward’s future.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Bayern have been assessing their attacking options and could turn to Rashford after missing out on Anthony Gordon, who has since joined Barcelona.

The German champions are looking for more depth on the left side and also want another forward capable of providing cover for Harry Kane.

That is where Rashford becomes an interesting option. He can play off the left, attack space in transition and also operate through the middle when needed.

For Vincent Kompany, that kind of flexibility could be valuable across a long season.

Wage issue could decide everything

The biggest obstacle, however, is money. Reports from Bavarian Football Works claim Bayern like the player, but his salary is a major concern.

That could become the key issue in any negotiation.

Rashford spent last season on loan at Barcelona, however, ESPN has reported that Barcelona are unlikely to trigger their option to make the move permanent.

That leaves United with another complicated decision. They do not appear desperate to reintegrate him, but finding a club willing to cover the transfer fee and wages will not be easy.

Man United exit would suit all the parties involved

From Bayern’s point of view, Rashford would be a smart footballing gamble if the financial package is right.

Nicolas Jackson has returned to Chelsea after his loan spell, with talkSPORT reporting that his permanent move was not completed, so Bayern still need attacking cover.

For United, a sale would finally bring clarity. For Rashford, it could be a fresh start at an elite club where he would not need to carry the entire attack.

The talent is still there. The real question is whether Bayern can make the numbers work.

Reporter confirms major update on €60m Arsenal transfer target

Arsenal reportedly look set to miss out on the transfer of Nathaniel Brown, with Bayern Munich expected to win the race for the Eintracht Frankfurt left-back.

Brown has shone in the Bundesliga in recent times, and we were informed about Arsenal being one of the Germany international’s suitors.

This was later confirmed by the Athletic as they mentioned Arsenal’s appreciation of the player, but now Christian Falk says he’s definitely on his way to Bayern in a €60m deal.

Writing in his latest CF Bayern Insider column, Falk said: “The breaking news for FC Bayern: earlier this week we reported on the Nathaniel Brown talks. He’s here with us with the German national team.

“Frankfurt and Bayern Munich have an agreement. They want to pay about €60m for the player, which is a lot of money. Now there are talks as to how this money will be paid; will it be €50m at once, then €10m in add-ons? It’s not up for debate as to whether he’ll end up at Bayern – he will sign for Bayern Munich.

“The clear target for the club is that he signs before Germany’s first group stage match at the World Cup, as FC Bayern are worried that the fullback is playing so well he could get a lot more expensive.”

Arsenal miss out on Nathaniel Brown, but did they need him anyway?

Arsenal now look unlikely to sign Brown this summer, but that shouldn’t really be seen as a big problem for the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta will have more pressing concerns about his squad than at the left-back position, with Riccardo Calafiori, Piero Hincapie and Myles Lewis-Skelly all good options there.

There had been talk of Real Madrid being keen on Calafiori but Arsenal won’t sell, so there’s no reason to be thinking about replacing the Italy international.

TEAMtalk suggest Madrid have now moved on to other targets, so if Calafiori is staying put then there’s no need for Brown, and Arsenal can focus on bringing in the top attacking players they really need.

Sources: Tottenham prepare Cody Gakpo transfer offer to Liverpool, two other clubs lurking

Tottenham are understood to be preparing a big bid for Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, according to information shared by CaughtOffside sources.

Leading figures in the industry have confirmed the validity of the claims, asking to remain anonymous to protect relationships.

Gakpo’s Liverpool future is understood to be in some doubt this summer after a dip in form, but the Netherlands international still has admirers in the Premier League and Europe.

Our understanding as of this morning is that Spurs are leading the race for Gakpo’s signature, and have internally put plans in place to offer a package worth around €70m for the 27-year-old.

Cody Gakpo eyed by Tottenham, Newcastle, and Bayern Munich

No offer has been made as of yet, but it is “in the works”, according to one well-placed source, while we’ve also been informed of Newcastle and Bayern Munich monitoring the player’s situation.

Gakpo was notably a target for Bayern last summer before they instead prioritised a move for his former Liverpool teammate Luis Diaz, but the Bundesliga giants remain keen to add depth to their attack.

Vincent Kompany’s side have also shown an interest in Marcus Rashford and Gabriel Martinelli, while they also notably missed out on Anthony Gordon, who recently made the move to Barcelona.

Gakpo has not yet made a decision on his future and it’s not anticipated that he is pushing to leave Liverpool, despite some reports that he’s unsettled now that Arne Slot has been sacked as manager.

Discussions could take place later in the summer after Gakpo’s participation in the World Cup 2026 with the Dutch national team, but Tottenham are expected to make a formal approach soon.

Should Liverpool let Cody Gakpo leave?

Gakpo has been in some ways a pretty good squad player for LFC, but arguably not much more than that.

Although the former PSV man clearly has some talent, it could be that Liverpool would do well to cash in on him if a good enough offer arrives.

Tottenham urgently need to make changes to their squad after finishing 17th in the Premier League in consecutive seasons, and Gakpo looks like someone who could help them climb up the table a bit.

Gakpo has 50 goals in 180 games for Liverpool, and one imagines he could flourish at a club where standards and expectations aren’t quite so high.

True: Liverpool star signalled interest in surprise transfer away before Reds blocked deal

Liverpool wonderkid Rio Ngumoha supposedly signalled some interest in a transfer to Bayern Munich, according to Christian Falk.

Writing in his latest CF Bayern Insider column, Falk explained that Ngumoha’s brother seemed open to engaging with Bayern, but negotiations didn’t go any further as Liverpool were adamant that they don’t want to sell.

Ngumoha is still at the start of his Liverpool career, with the 17-year-old becoming more of a first-team regular in the 2025/26 season, with 29 appearances and two goals in all competitions.

Liverpool fans will have been excited by what they saw of the teenager, though, as he looks like one of the brightest prospects in the country.

Rio Ngumoha was wanted by Bayern Munich

German football journalist Falk has now confirmed Bayern’s interest in Ngumoha, which again shows just what a top talent he is.

Liverpool are in no mood to let the England international go, though, so this is probably the end of the story for now.

“It is TRUE: Bayern Munich were concretely interested in Rio Ngumoha,” Falk wrote.

“There were rumours that his brother, who is involved in his career around transfers, was at Säbener Straße for talks and signalled that the winger would be interested in going to Bayern Munich, and it would be no issue in sorting out contract details and the salary.

“FC Bayern had a very clear signal when they knocked on the door at Liverpool that there would be no time or reason for talks; there would be no negotiations. They’re so convinced about the player and his potential that they signalled he wouldn’t be sold. It won’t happen.”

Can Rio Ngumoha step up for Liverpool?

In truth, after a frustrating campaign for LFC, they could do with Ngumoha stepping up and becoming even more of an important member of the first-team next season.

The Merseyside giants have just bid farewell to big names like Mohamed Salah, Andrew Robertson, and Ibrahima Konate on free transfers, so there’ll be plenty of changes made to the squad this summer.

If Ngumoha can start delivering more consistently, then he’ll surely be a valuable addition to the team under new manager Andoni Iraola.

If not, Liverpool likely face paying a fortune for a top new attacking player to replace Salah this summer.
