Leeds set to sign one of the best left footers in Europe

Leeds are planning to make signings in January, as they seek to improve their squad for the second half of the Premier League season. Defence is one area that could be addressed, which is why targets have been drawn up by the club’s sporting department.

Daniel Farke’s move to a 3-5-2 system has been very effective, with positives results against the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Crystal Palace. The decision to play one more centre-back means that improved depth would be welcomed in the position, and one option being considered is El Chadaille Bitshiabu.

Leeds interested in January move for El Chadaille Bitshiabu

As per TEAMtalk (via Leeds United News), Leeds have set their sights on signing Bitshiabu, who looks set to be allowed to leave Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig when the transfer window opens next week.

Bitshiabu has struggled for prominence this season, with only five appearances made across all competitions. RB Leipzig do not count on him for the immediate future, which is why Leeds could have a way in.

Should Leeds sign El Chadaille Bitshiabu?

Leeds do not have a lot of left-footed defenders, with only Pascal Struijk and Gabriel Gudmundsson as options regularly used by Farke. It makes a lot of sense to bring in competition for the second half of the season, and that is exactly what Bitshiabu would provide.

It remains to be seen whether Leeds can strike a deal with RB Leipzig for Bitshiabu. A permanent deal would be unlikely, but the chance to bring him in on loan is one that Elland Road officials could be afforded over the next few weeks.

AC Milan make astonishing decision on Niclas Fullkrug after one training session

West Ham have already finalised their first January deal, with Niclas Fullkrug making the move to AC Milan. The veteran striker will officially join the Serie A giants when the January transfer window opens, having reached an agreement to end his disappointing 18-month spell at the London Stadium.

Fullkrug wants to play himself into form in Milan ahead of next summer’s World Cup. He will also hope to seal a permanent move to the Rossoneri, although recent reports would suggest that the chances of this happening are far from certain.

According to Radio Sportiva and Tutto Mercato Web journalist Marco Conterio (via Hammers News), AC Milan are already thinking about life after Fullkrug, who has only completed one training session since his move to Italy. Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic, who has recently been linked with reigning Premier League champions Liverpool, is on their radar, with contact having already been made with his agents in regards to a possible summer move.

Vlahovic is out of contract at the end of the season, and Milan see him as a market opportunity. If they manage to sign him, it would make it very difficult for Fullkrug to seal a permanent transfer to the San Siro.

How will West Ham deal with a possible return for Niclas Fullkrug?

There is no doubt that West Ham will want to see the back of Fullkrug, who managed only three goals in his 29 appearances for the club since his 2024 move from Borussia Dortmund. If it is decided that Milan do not seek to sign him on a permanent basis, he would go back to the London Stadium, and it may be difficult to sort another move for him in the summer.

Sources: Man City close in on £65m star but fear losing forward to Tottenham

Man City are very much in the Premier League title race, and in order to consolidate their bid, they want to make signings in January. Pep Guardiola wants at least one attacking reinforcement brought in, with the idea being for that player to be Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo.

Man City are considered to be favourites to sign Semenyo, and according to The Daily Briefing, they intend to trigger his £65m release clause in the opening days of the January transfer window, as they seek to be first in the queue. However, his arrival could mean that one or two current players move on.

Tottenham are reported to be interested in signing Omar Marmoush, whose first full season at Man City has seen him drop down the pecking order. The 26-year-old, who is currently away with Egypt at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, has made only two Premier League starts, and he could now be set to continue his career in North London.

However, Man City have no plans to consider selling Marmoush mid-season, with a deal more likely to be struck in the summer.

What about Oscar Bobb?

The player most likely to leave Man City next month is Oscar Bobb, who is another to have lost prominence this season. A loan move has been touted for the 22-year-old, with offers already on the table from Fulham and Crystal Palace, while across Europe, Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla have also submitted proposals.

Pep Guardiola counting on winger duo

Two current stars that will almost certainly be staying at Man City are Jeremy Doku and Savinho. Both are trusted by Guardiola, who does not intend to reduce their minutes despite Semenyo’s expected arrival – the Ghana international is more likely to be a direct replacement for Marmoush, in that he would play as a second striker or number 10.

Wolves poised to lose more players after Jorgen Strand Larsen

It has been a dreadful season for Wolves, and in January, things could be about to get worse for Rob Edwards’ squad. There are plans for signings to be made, but players already at Molineux could also be on their way out.

Jorgen Strand Larsen could be one of those, with the striker wanted by West Ham. However, he may not be the only one that clubs comes for when the transfer window opens in a few days’ time.

Wolves fear January offers for key players

As per Football Insider, Mick Brown has revealed that a number of important Wolves players could leave the club, either in January or in the summer.

“Wolves are expecting bids for their major players. Let’s be honest, it looks like they will be relegated and it would take a miracle for them to stay up, so there is the view that they could sell in January to get the most money. That could mean clubs make moves for these players when the window opens, maybe to get ahead of any other interest in them.

“I think Wolves will be reluctant to do that because if they are going to stay up they’ll need to keep all of their best players to make sure of it. If or when they go down, teams always want to keep hold of their best players, but it’s rarely possible because of the financial side of things. Plus, the players won’t want to stick around in the Championship if they know they’ve got options at a higher level and in the Premier League.

“So if they go down, that will be the case, and until then it’s uncertain about what will happen in January and if teams will look to take advantage, but they’ll be prepared for that.”

Who could leave Wolves in January?

In recent weeks, there has been transfer interest shown in the likes of David Moller Wolfe, Andre and Joao Gomes. It could be terrible news for Wolves if they were to leave, but it would be no surprise if deals were done, given that Premier League relegation seems inevitable.

Bournemouth at risk of Andoni Iraola exit amid Liverpool interest

Bournemouth have lost a number of key players in recent years, and soon, the same could happen with their manager. Andoni Iraola has attracted a lot of interest over the last 18 months, and in 2026, he could next to move on.

It has been a season of some difficulty for Bournemouth, who find themselves down in 15th in the Premier League table. Iraola’s magic has not worked, and while it is unlikely that he is sacked, he could decide to leave at the end of the season.

As per Football Insider, Mick Brown has revealed that Iraola has a good chance to leave Bournemouth when his contract is up at the end of the season.

“I don’t think there’s any immediate threat of him losing his job. He’s got a lot of credit in the bank so it would be a shock if there was. The realists, if there are any left in the game, will look at the situation he’s in, all of the players who left in the summer, and the job he’s done in those circumstances. Now it’s time for them to get behind him and support him, that would be the sensible reaction and it’s the path I think Bournemouth will take.

“From his point of view, he’ll be looking at the situation he’s in there. Results have dipped a bit recently, does he think that’s something he can resolve, or is it a deeper issue with the club that might be a long-term thing? Based on what he thinks and how he feels, that will decide his future.

“With his contract up at the end of the season, he will be assessing his options and maybe he’ll leave Bournemouth sooner than many people expected. He has a lot of admirers which we’ve spoken about before, so that will give him a decision to make.”

Where could Andoni Iraola end up if he leaves Bournemouth?

Liverpool are among the clubs interested in Iraola, so if he does decide against signing a new Bournemouth contract, they could be well-placed to move for him – provided that Arne Slot was relieved of his duties at Anfield.

Crystal Palace favourites to sign Premier League star in January

Crystal Palace have had a good season so far, and they hope to add quality to their squad in January as they seek a successful campaign. A new winger is wanted by Oliver Glasner, and in recent weeks, the club have set their sights on Brennan Johnson.

Tottenham are open to selling Johnson, who is not in Thomas Frank’s plans. Crystal Palace are in the race, and although there are other clubs present too, their chances of bringing him to Selhurst Park are looking good.

As per Football Insider, Keith Wyness has revealed that Crystal Palace are favourotes to sign Johson ahead of Ipswich and Brentford.

“Yeah, I think Palace is a real option for him, and I think the one that’s making all the positive noise is Ipswich because they’ve had a real good run recently back up into the promotion places, at least the playoffs, in the Championship.

“So yes, I think Brendan Johnson could be for Palace. I think he’s a talent. He’s been a little bit inconsistent at Spurs. But you know he’ll be looking as well as whether Glasner will be there or not. So that could make a decision for him as well.

“Whereas it does seem Kieran McKenna is still remaining loyal at Ipswich, and so we’ll see where that goes. As a young player, I think he seems to be a confident striker that needs that arm around the shoulder. And so he’ll be making a decision based on that. But certainly I think Palace. I also heard Brentford, but I do think that Palace and Ipswich are the two front-runners. I expect him to move fairly soon.”

Should Crystal Palace sign Brennan Johnson?

It is clear that Crystal Palace need winger reinforcements, and as far as options go, Johnson would be an excellent one. It remains to be seen whether a deal can be agreed with Tottenham.

Arsenal prepared to hijack Man City move for Premier League player

Arsenal currently sit top of the Premier League, and in order to consolidate their position, signings could be made in January – with one in particular that could provide a massive boost in their expected battle with Man City.

Antoine Semenyo is a player appreciated by both clubs, but at this stage, Man City are favourites for his signature. Despite this, Arsenal are not prepared to end their pursuit, as they seek to get one over their Premier League title rivals.

Arsenal line up January move for Antoine Semenyo

As per Football Insider, Mick Brown has revealed that Arsenal are still in the race to sign Semenyo from Bournemouth.

“There was a rumour which was interesting about Semenyo coming to Arsenal almost as a blocking transfer to stop anybody else trying to strengthen. That would be interesting. And if they got rid of Jesus, then possibly that’s something that could happen. However, something we’ve talked about before is the good work that Arsenal have done in getting the other contracts with the players signed early, and getting them tied down to get stability.

“And I think that’s one of the key things that Arteta has been preaching about is stability in the squad. However, if there’s a chance to add quality in January, then they may well do it. It would all depend on the deal. I don’t know how many deals are actually live for him. I mean he’s saying he’s apparently turned down Spurs. We’ll just have to wait and see where he ends up. But Arsenal’s not quite out of the question there from all I’m hearing.”

Should Arsenal sign Antoine Semenyo?

The left wing position in Mikel Arteta’s squad continues to cause issues for Arsenal, but signing Semenyo would be an excellent solution. However, they will find it difficult to overtake Man City in the coming days.

Enzo Maresca tempted to leave Chelsea as rivals circle

Chelsea have had a lot of manager turnover in recent years, and they could be searching for a new one again in 2026. Enzo Maresca has impressed since taking the reins at Stamford Bridge, and he could now be tempted into joining another club.

In recent weeks, it has been reported that Man City have lined up Maresca as one of their candidates to replace Pep Guardiola, when the time comes for the legendary Spanish manager to move on. He knows the Etihad Stadium well, having previously worked there as a first team coach.

Chelsea could soon be looking for Maresca replacement

As per Football Insider, Mick Brown has revealed that Maresca would consider leaving Chelsea in order to join Man City as Guardiola’s successor.

“Maresca is definitely a candidate if and when Guardiola leaves. He’s got strong connections at Man City, he knows the people, he’s been there and he’s worked there, so he’s in that mould that City want and like. That makes him a very strong contender, and he’d be a very good option for them.

“I think he’s come out with a few questionable statements at Chelsea where nobody really knows what he’s hinting at, but he also won’t clarify. That leaves it open to conjecture and speculation, is he hinting that he’s not happy at Chelsea?

“So all of this stuff adds up, and given the relationships he already has at Man City, it wouldn’t surprise me if it was already in his mind about going back. I think if they decided he was the one they wanted to replace Pep when that time comes, he could certainly be tempted away from Chelsea.”

Should Chelsea be worried about Enzo Maresca leaving?

There is clearly an emotional connection between Maresca and Man City, so it would be no surprise to see him end up there in the coming years. That would be a big blow for Chelsea, given how well he has done at Stamford Bridge.

Insider confirms Liverpool plans to accelerate January move for Premier League star

Liverpool may have spent over £400m in the summer, but there will be more business done during the January transfer window. The priority is to bring in a new attacker, now that Alexander Isak has been sidelined for several months after breaking his leg in the weekend victory over Tottenham.

Arne Slot has made it clear that he needs another forward, and the plan is for Antoine Semenyo to be sought. Man United and Man City have been competing for the Bournemouth player, but they could now be pipped by the reigning Premier League champions.

As per Football Insider, Mick Brown has confirmed Liverpool’s plans to accelerate a move for Semenyo.

“Liverpool are going to step up their interest in Semenyo. Now Isak has picked up this serious injury, plus it’s multiplied by Salah and the fact he’s gone to AFCON and may not be at Liverpool for much longer.

“Semenyo is a very good footballer, and he’s somebody who a lot of the top clubs are after. So from Liverpool’s point of view, when something like this has happened, it’s a deal they really want to get done and to beat the other clubs to. The manager wants to add some attacking depth, so it would make a lot of sense.

“It shows how quickly priorities can change in football, I always used to say you’d be looking at a right-back on Sunday, and by Monday morning you need a left winger. It’s the way things go at this time of year especially, so with circumstances changing at Liverpool, there is every chance they could go and get Semenyo.”

Is Antoine Semenyo the ideal January signing for Liverpool?

Isak’s absence, coupled with Salah’s uncertain future at Anfield, means that Liverpool certainly need another attacker, and Semenyo would fit like a glove. He has been in excellent form this season, and in the coming weeks, he could get his reward with a move to Merseyside.

Man City star open to surprise January exit – club will have final say

Man City may add to their squad in January, but in recent weeks, much of the focus has been on possible departures. James Trafford could leave due to a lack of playing time, and the same may now be said for Savinho.

It has been a difficult season for the Brazilian winger, who has played a bit-part role due to the good form of Phil Foden, Jeremy Doku and Rayan Cherki. He’s started only four times in the Premier League, which has dented his hopes of being included in Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Savinho could leave Man City due to lack of opportunities

As per Football Insider, Mick Brown has revealed that Savinho has a chance of leaving Man City when the transfer window opens in January.

“I wouldn’t be surprised to see Savinho leave City in January. He has been relegated to more of a backup role because Cherki has come in and hit the ground running, and Doku and Foden have both stepped up.

“Savinho is a top player, but at the moment, he’s not improving or making himself a regular there. Guardiola doesn’t see him as a starter ahead of those other players I named, so there’s every chance that if they get an offer, they could let him go.

“From his point of view, I’m sure he’s frustrated that he isn’t playing as much as he would like. After the effort City made to keep him at the club, he would have been expecting to be a key part of that team, but that hasn’t been the case so far.

“If the opportunity comes up again for him to leave Man City, to go and play more regular football for another top side, then it will certainly appeal to him. Obviously it depends on City, and whether they would be willing to let him leave.”

What should Man City do with Savinho?

Savinho is a top talent, but right now, he does not fit into Man City’s plans. An exit seems inevitable, which is good news for Tottenham, who remain interested in signing him after their failed pursuit in the summer.

Tottenham deliver new stance on Thomas Frank after Liverpool defeat

Tottenham have had a miserable few months in the Premier League, and that continued at the weekend with a home defeat to Liverpool. The North Londoners are now 13th in the standings, which is far from where they imagined themselves to be.

On the back of another loss, pressure has continued to build on Thomas Frank. The Tottenham manager remains under pressure to perform, but for now, he will continue to get more time to stamp his authority on things.

Tottenham continue to back Thomas Frank as manager

As per Football Insider, Mick Brown has revealed that Tottenham are still hoping that Frank is their man, with the plan still being to stick with him long-term.

“Frank is definitely under pressure because results haven’t been good. That’s the game nowadays, you change managers like you change shirts, the second things go wrong everybody wants the manager to be replaced. I don’t think that will happen at Tottenham, they hope Frank will be the man to lead them forward, it’s more of a long-term plan and they don’t want to tear that up.

“The thing at Tottenham is, they had a lot of issues under Ange Postecoglou, not just with the style of play but also with the players available. Now those players are the same ones who we keep saying making mistakes under Thomas Frank, we saw that against Liverpool and it’s a huge problem. They got away with it last year because they won the Europa League, but leopards don’t change their spots, and that’s why there are still issues.

“The problems go deeper than the manager, so lets say they go and get someone else now, they’d have the exact same issues the last two have had. Sticking with Frank, letting him get his ideas across and do his thing, is the smart thing for Tottenham to do while they have to address the other issues they have.”

Should Tottenham continue to keep faith in Thomas Frank?

It is clear that Tottenham’s issues go beyond Frank, with the summer transfer business having failed to allow the squad to move on from last season’s domestic disappointments. However, he will take the brunt of it if form does not turn around over the coming weeks and months.

Liverpool told Alexander Isak injury “solves a problem” for Arne Slot

In the last 24 hours, Liverpool have been devastated by the news that Alexander Isak broke his leg against Tottenham. The £125m summer signing from Newcastle was injured in the process of scoring, and he will now be ruled out a significant period of time.

It has been a tough start to life at Liverpool for Isak, and this has now gone much worse. However, it’s since been claimed that for the team itself, this could clear up some doubts.

Isak absence could clear up selection doubts at Liverpool

Aleksander Isak of Liverpool

As per Football Insider, Mick Brown has claimed that Isak’s long-term absence could make things easier for Liverpool manager Arne Slot in terms of selecting his best team.

“It’s a terrible blow for Liverpool and for Alexander Isak. Any injury of that description is devastating for the player, it really is a massive blow. From the club’s point of view, they’ve paid £125m for a player, he’s taken this long to get going and now he’s going to miss months with what is a severe injury. It is a huge blow and not something you’d wish on anybody.

“I don’t know how to phrase this without it sounding disrespectful, but it solves a problem for them in as much as it gets rid of the questions around him. Can they play him and Ekitike together? Will one of them have to play out wide? Do they sacrifice Ekitike to get Isak in his best position? They haven’t got that problem now, so Ekitike can focus on his game as the main man without all of those questions and doubts around it.

“I feel so sorry for Isak, because all of this pressure has been brought on him after getting his move, but it’s a worry for every player in the world, picking up an injury like this. I just hope it’s not too severe and he can come back to playing as soon as possible.”

How will Liverpool get on without Alexander Isak?

Isak’s absence will certainly make Ekitike Liverpool’s undisputed starter in the number nine position. It will be interesting to see whether he can continue his impressive start to life at Anfield now that any doubts about his standing have been temporarily cleared up.

Leicester in pole position to sign Sunderland striker

It has been a dismal season thus far for Leicester, but signings in January could help their efforts to return to the Premier League come May.

Marti Cifuentes’ side find themselves 13th in the Championship table after 22 matches played, which is not where they imagined themselves to be after relegation from the Premier League last season. As well as on-field efforts, recruitment has been a struggle, but there will be chances to put that right in January.

Leicester linked with January move for Eliezer Mayenda

A new forward is on the agenda, and according to Football League World (via Foxes of Leicester), a move could be be made for Sunderland striker Eliezer Mayenda. The 20-year-old has struggled for playing time in the Premier League, so a return to the Championship, where he excelled in last season’s promotion campaign for the Wearside club, would make a lot of sense.

Sunderland would surely allow Mayenda to see regular playing time given that Regis Le Bris does not see him as a notable option in his current squad, so a loan move makes sense. Leicester would be well-placed, given that he would see a lot of action at the King Power Stadium.

Should Leicester move for Eliezer Mayenda when the transfer window opens?

It’s clear that Leicester need to make changes over the coming weeks, whether that is tactical or with personnel. A good January transfer window could be the difference between promotion and staying in the Championship for another season, so signings like Mayenda, who has also attracted interest from a number of Bundesliga clubs in recent weeks, should absolutely be something that the club’s sporting departments seeks to finalise.

It remains to be seen whether Leicester move for Mayenda, but his signing would make a lot of sense for all parties.

Crystal Palace have green light to secure super signing for only €15m

Crystal Palace have plans to sign multiple players in January, and right wing-back is one area that could be addressed. Oliver Glasner does not have a sufficient backup to Daniel Munoz, as was shown with Nathaniel Clyne’s performance in the position during the weekend defeat to Leeds.

Targets are being drawn up by Selhurst Park officials, and one of those to have been linked with a move is Sacha Boey. The defender, who is also rumoured to be on the radar of Newcastle and West Ham, has struggled for prominence at Bayern Munich, and he could now be set to continue his career in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace given hope of January deal for Sacha Boey

According to a report from Fussball Transfers (via Sport Witness), a deal could be done for as little as €15m, with Bayern director Max Eberl having opened the door for outcast players such as Boey to leave in January.

“There could always be a player who’s perhaps a bit dissatisfied and who, now that the injured players are returning, says: ‘I want to do something different’.”

Should Crystal Palace pursue a deal for Sacha Boey?

Boey would be a fine addition to Glasner’s squad, as he is very capable of competing with Munoz for the starting right wing-back spot. However, it has been noted in the report that Crystal Palace are unwilling to pay €15m, which could mean that they miss out on securing his signature.

It will be interesting to see how Crystal Palace approach the upcoming January transfer window. As well as a new right wing-back, there are plans for another winger to be brought in, which is especially needed due to Ismaila Sarr being away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal.

Ex-Premier League ref demands ban for Tottenham star

Tottenham are in a very difficult moment, and that continued at the weekend with a 2-1 home defeat to Liverpool. Thomas Frank’s side find themselves 13th in the Premier League at this stage of the season, which is a real frustration for the club’s supporters.

One area of frustration for Tottenham during the defeat to Liverpool came in the first half when Djed Spence went down inside the penalty area under a challenge from Conor Bradley. A penalty was called for, but the officials did not see a foul, which attracted the ire of the defender, his manager and the home fans inside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Djed Spence accused of diving against Liverpool

According to Ian Wright (via Football London), this was the correct decision, as he accused Spence of trying to trying to buy a penalty from referee John Brooks.

“You can see the other player behind him. He’s got no chance of getting that ball on the other side. So he’s just knocked it inside and just wanted contact and got it. It’s a blatant dive for me.”

Former Premier League referee Keith Hackett was in agreement with Wright, as he called for retrospective action to be taken against the defender.

“Sadly, going to ground to deceive the referee by an act of simulation is a regular occurrence in the modern game. It will continue if referees fail to sanction. I do believe that the authorities need to consider retrospective punishment for acts of simulation.”

Should Djed Spence be banned resprospectively?

It is rare for PGMOL to take action in a retrospective sense, but it remains to be seen whether this is something that starts to happen in the future. Spence, who penned a new contract at Tottenham earlier in the season, can perhaps count himself lucky that he will not receive any punishment.

Four players could leave Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace could be set for significant turnover in 2026, with a number of personnel attracting strong interest from clubs. Last season’s FA Cup winners have been keen to take the next step, and while they have done well in the ongoing Premier League campaign, they could soon be back to step one.

There have been many rumours about Oliver Glasner, who could be on the way out at the end of the season, and the same can be said for a number of Crystal Palace players, with top clubs said to be circling.

Marc Guehi leads four-strong list of possible Crystal Palace exits

As per Football Insider, Mick Brown has confirmed that Glasner and four of his best players could be set to leave Crystal Palace next summer.

“Crystal Palace have to do everything in their power to keep them. That starts with the manager, but it goes for four or five players in that squad as well, who have been key to the success they’ve had.

“Daniel Munoz is probably as good a right-back as there is at the moment, so say they lose him, whoever replaces him is likely to be a few degrees less than him. Then that same thing happens with Marc Guehi, they lose him and whoever they bring in to replace him isn’t as good as he is. Then it’s Adam Wharton, it’s Jean-Philippe Mateta, it’s Oliver Glasner.

“These are players and the manager who are all capable of being right at the top of the game. So if they leave Palace, they’re weakening their team by ten per cent every time, and all of a sudden they drop off from competing near the top to right down the bottom.

“The hierarchy at Crystal Palace have to put plans in place for losing these players to limit the impact, and that means being proactive so that you’re not rushing and panicking. Because being in a situation like this is a huge concern, where you’re expecting to lose players, but don’t know whether the ones coming in will be good enough.”

How would Crystal Palace be affected by a mass exodus?

It remains to be seen how next season plays out for Crystal Palace, but it looks like it will be a busy transfer window. Losing so many key players would be awful news, although there would be faith in the club’s sporting department to sort effective replacements.

The post Four players could leave Crystal Palace appeared first on CaughtOffside.

Man City open to selling their star man to Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace intend to add to Oliver Glasner’s squad in January, and one of their new signings could arrive from Man City. There is a strong desire to add depth in the wing department, and Oscar Bobb could be the ideal player come to Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace will compete in the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Conference League after Christmas, so there is a desire to add further strength in depth for the second half of the season. Glasner’s squad is particularly light in the wing areas, with only Ismaila Sarr, Yeremy Pino and Romain Esse seen as natural options, although Eddie Nketiah has also been deployed there in recent weeks.

Nevertheless, another option is wanted, and Bobb could be the player that Crystal Palace push to sign when the transfer window opens.

Bobb has struggled for prominence in recent weeks, with Rayan Cherki’s recent promotion to the starting line-up having come at a cost to him. As such, Pep Guardiola has given the green light for the winger to leave, with the plan being for him to leave on loan, or be cashed in on.

Should Crystal Palace sign Oscar Bobb?

It must be remembered that Bobb, who has been around for a number of years, is only 22. He has shown flashes of brilliance during his time at Man City, and the opportunity for regular minutes could allow him to start delivering on his undoubted potential – and Selhurst Park could be the ideal place for that to happen.

Aston Villa start talks to sign Barcelona hero

Aston Villa are almost certain to be in the market for a new goalkeeper in 2026, with speculation surrounding the future of Emiliano Martinez. They have been linked with Man City’s James Trafford, but instead, a more established name could be heading to Villa Park.

Martinez continues to be linked with Man United, while there is also a possibility that he heads to Saudi Arabia or the MLS after the 2026 World Cup. Aston Villa are aware of this, which is why work is already being done to secure a replacement – and the player in question could be Barcelona captain Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

According to Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness), Aston Villa have made an initial move for Ter Stegen, having asked for information about a potential transfer, as well as where he stands with his fitness. The 33-year-old recently made his first appearance of the season following back surgery in Barcelona’s Copa del Rey victory over Guadalajara, which he came through well.

Despite featuring in that match, Ter Stegen is not counted upon at Barcelona. Hansi Flick has Joan Garcia, who signed in the summer from Espanyol, as his starting goalkeeper, with ex-Arsenal stopper Wojciech Szczesny being his backup. As such, the door is open for Aston Villa to make their move.

Should Aston Villa sign Marc-Andre Ter Stegen to replace Emiliano Martinez?

Ter Stegen, who has also attracted interest from Tottenham, has performed at a high level for the best part of a decade, so as far as Martinez replacements go, he would be at the very top of Aston Villa’s list. However, the likelihood is that a deal would not be sought until next summer, given the Germany international needs to play in the second half of the season in order to guarantee a spot for next summer’s World Cup.

Newcastle could sell star player in 2026 amid Man City interest

Newcastle will be keen to avoid any repeat of the Alexander Isak saga going forward, but there could be another case in 2026. Tino Livramento, who is attracting strong interest from Man City, may be the next player to leave St James’ Park.

Livramento has developed into one of the Premier League’s best full-backs since joining Newcastle from Southampton, and his ability to play on either flank has caught the attention of Pep Guardiola, who has been given a decent chance of getting his man in 2026.

As per Football Insider, Keith Wyness has reported that Newcastle may cash in on Livramento, whose representatives may look to use Man City’s interest in order to secure a bumper new deal at St James’ Park.

“If Livramento wants to go it’s going to be hard for him to do that, and if he’s still going through contract negotiations, then as I say they run the risk of entering into another Isak situation which was really damaging and really hurt Newcastle a lot.

“So I think it’s going to be the case if they get the right price in January, he may go, but Newcastle are going to have to open the wallet, I think, and open the cheque book and get a new contract deal from if they do.

“Certainly his agent is going to be using Man City as leverage all the way until it’s signed. So I’d expect it to be a bumper contract for him to stay and that’s how they’re going to force it.”

What should Newcastle do about Tino Livramento?

There is no doubt that Newcastle should seek to renew Livramento’s contract, given his importance to Eddie Howe’s squad. In the end, it may be worth it to tie him down to a big salary, as long as it is a deal that lasts for five or six years.

West Ham have £50m transfer kitty for January – three signings wanted

West Ham are ready to shake up Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad in January, as they seek a vast improvement from the first half of the season. A number of areas are to be addressed, and there will be funds available to spend.

However, it could be that those funds are not enough to address every problem that West Ham have.

As per Football Insider, Mick Brown has revealed that West Ham have £50m to spend when the transfer window opens in January. They plans to make at least three signings, although there are doubts about whether they will be able to do acceptable business with the funds on offer.

“West Ham won’t solve the problems in their squad. They want a striker for about £20m, good luck. Doesn’t everyone? They need a top striker who will score them goals, they won’t get one for that price.

“It’s typical West Ham, the way the board there operate, they want to solve a problem but they want to do it as cheaply as they can. Instead of brining in quality options to strengthen their squad gradually, they bring in players who aren’t good enough for a lower price.

“They’ve improved since Nuno came in, they look like a better side, but they will never make progress until they’re willing to spend properly. And the big thing for me is, they’ll go and spend £20m on a striker, then £15m on a centre-back, £15m on a midfielder. Then you’ve spent £50m, and your squad is no better off because the players you’ve brought in on the cheap aren’t better than what you’ve got.

“So they’d have been better off spending that £50m on a real top player who they know will improve them, but you can’t tell them that, they don’t listen. The club will keep going backwards unless they’re willing to show a bit of ambition.”

What do West Ham need to do in January?

The big issue for West Ham is in the striker department. Niclas Fullkrug will almost certainly be leaving, so signing a replacement must be priority number one. If they have funds left over from that, then further additions can be made.

Crystal Palace line up January move for Tottenham star

Crystal Palace intend to strengthen Oliver Glasner’s squad in January, as they seek to continue competing across three competitions. The Eagles are sitting pretty in the Premier League, while they will also harbour hopes of defending their FA Cup title from last season, as well as winning another trophy in the UEFA Conference League.

The wing positions is one area that Glasner has little depth, with only the likes of Ismaila Sarr, Yeremy Pino and Romain Esse as natural options. Crystal Palace are hoping to address this in January, and they could do so by bringing in Brennan Johnson.

As per Football Insider, Mick Brown has confirmed Crystal Palace’s interest in Johnson, whom Tottenham are willing to allow to leave in January.

“I’m sure Tottenham will consider offers to let Brennan Johnson go. It could be on loan, or it could be permanent, because both of those would suit Tottenham for different reasons, so it will depend on the buying club and what they’re after.

“Palace have been watching him, he’s high on their list of targets. So if they get the green light from Tottenham, he’s somebody they could be tempted to make a move for, because he plays in a position where they don’t have many options. They want to strengthen, the manager has been calling for it publicly, and if they want to back him they’re going to want to do it early.

“I think they have to be careful, because of the type of player he is, he doesn’t necessarily fit everywhere. If they think he’d be a good fit for the role they want him to play, then go for it, because as I say, I expect Tottenham will be willing to let him go.”

Is Brennan Johnson the answer to Crystal Palace’s winger issues?

There is little doubt that Johnson would be a fine addition to Crystal Palace’s squad, and if he can be signed on loan, even better. However, they could struggle to win this race, with the likes of Aston Villa also interested in the Wales international.

Eddie Howe has concerns about three Newcastle players

Newcastle have had a difficult season up until now, with Eddie Howe’s side only 12th in the Premier League standings after 16 matches. The team has struggled as a whole, although there have been individuals whose woes have stuck out more than most.

In particular, it has been a struggle in attack, as summed up by Anthony Elanga. The £55m summer signing from Nottingham Forest has managed only one assist in 24 appearances across all competitions, although he is not the only one generating doubts at St James’ Park.

As per Football Insider, Mick Brown has revealed that Howe and Newcastle will only be worried about the form of Elanga’s fellow wingers Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes.

“Elanga’s form is a concern for Newcastle given the money they spent. It’s not only him, though, there are a few players at Newcastle who haven’t quite lived up to expectations so far this season, and that’s why they’re struggling.

“Gordon, for example, hasn’t been anywhere near the level we expect of him. That will be a concern for England as well as for Newcastle, he hasn’t scored a goal other than penalties in god knows how long and hasn’t managed to influence games.

“Then there’s Barnes, one week he’ll really impress and then the next you won’t see him. So those wide areas are a big problem for Newcastle, and if you can’t create anything out wide, it makes it difficult for the strikers to do their jobs. It’s definitely one of the reasons they’ve struggled so much this season when you look at the players who just aren’t quite where you’d want them to be.”

Do Newcastle need to sign a new winger in January?

Newcastle had been desperate to sign a right winger up until Elanga’s arrival, but so far, he has not been the solution. It would be no surprise to see a new signing made in that position, given there is PSR headroom for the Tyneside club.

Tottenham given hope of January deal for long-standing target

Tottenham are hoping to add a couple of players to Thomas Frank’s squad in January, with a new winger being high on their agenda. Savinho, whom they tried to sign during the summer, is still a possible option, and their chances of a deal being done when the transfer window opens could be set to go up.

Savinho has struggled for prominence this season, with only four starts in the Premier League. The likes of Jeremy Doku, Phil Foden, Rayan Cherki and Bernardo Silva have been preferred by Pep Guardiola, which is why there are chances for him to leave mid-season.

Insider believes Man City could sell Savinho to Tottenham

As per Football Insider, Mick Brown has given hope to Tottenham that a deal for Savinho can be done when the transfer window opens.

“We know City like to have that depth in their squad, but say someone comes in with a huge offer for him, I think they would let him go. Tottenham were obviously interested during the summer and nothing came of it, but that interest is still going to be there from them and other clubs too.”

Should Savinho join Tottenham in January?

It’s clear that Savinho is not overly counted upon at Man City. The second half of this season is crucial for him, given that he needs to play in order to give himself a good chance of being in Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup, and a move to Tottenham would certainly allow him more playing time.

Liverpool star tells-all on Mohamed Salah apology as sympathy revealed

Mohamed Salah has been reintegrated back into the Liverpool squad, having seemingly been on his way out of Anfield after blockbuster statements in the media about his unhappiness towards manager Arne Slot.

The stories made waves across England and much of Europe, but for now, things have settled now. However, there has been new insight given by one of Salah’s teammates.

Curtis Jones gives backing to Liverpool teammate Salah

Speaking to Sky Sports, Jones opened up on Salah’s apology to his Liverpool teammates, as he admitted that he had some sympathy for the Egyptian winger.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff. He apologised to us and was like, ‘If I’ve affected anybody or made you feel any sort of way, I apologise’. That’s the man that he is.

“I can only speak from me knowing Mo and how he is with us and how he acted on that. He was positive as well. He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him. I guess it’s just part of wanting to be a winner and I don’t think he will be the last.

“I get that there are certain ways you can go about things, but if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench and he doesn’t want to play and help the team, then I think that’s more of an issue. When there’s been any sort of anger from us, including myself, it’s always been from a good place.

“In the moment, it might not have come out in the right way, but it’s never been to affect the team, the staff, the manager, anybody like that. We’re past that now and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and starting to win games.”

Will Mohamed Salah leave Liverpool in 2026?

Rumours of a Liverpool exit ramped up in the days after Salah’s remarks, and although this has cooled down now, it would be no surprise to see him call time on his Anfield career at the end of the season.
