Oakland to hold community rally for hometown hero and Olympics champ Alysa Liu

Oakland will show its love for hometown Olympic gold medalist Alysa Liu next week.

It will hold a "Welcome Home" rally outside of Oakland City Hall at the Frank Ogawa Plaza.

It's on March 12, from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

It's completely free, but registration is required, and only two tickets can be reserved per person.

You can find a link on the City of Oakland's Facebook page.

The city recommends arriving early, as space will be limited.
