OnePlus 16’s 200MP periscope telephoto camera could feature this image sensor

OnePlus appears to be preparing the OnePlus 16 flagship with a strong focus on imaging, as the previous generation featured subpar cameras. A new leak reveals that the OnePlus 16 may bring a notable upgrade to its telephoto camera setup. Here’s a look at what to expect from the OnePlus 16’s cameras.

OnePlus 16 to feature familiar 200MP periscope telephoto camera

According to Smart Pikachu on Weibo, a 200-megapixel imaging solution originally associated with Realme has now appeared in OnePlus’ development pipeline. Earlier reports have indicated that this 200-megapixel periscope unit may use the Samsung HP5 sensor, which Realme has used on phones like the Realme 16 Pro series and Realme GT 8 Pro.

Other reports have revealed that the OnePlus 16’s camera system is also likely to include two additional 50-megapixel sensors for the main and ultra-wide lenses, forming a balanced triple-camera setup.

In addition to camera upgrades, the OnePlus 16 is expected to bring significant improvements in performance. Its display is likely to support 1.5K resolution with a high refresh rate, possibly reaching up to 200Hz or higher.  The device could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, built on an advanced 2nm process.

The chipset is expected to be paired with LPDDR6 RAM, which may offer a substantial increase in bandwidth compared to current standards. This could improve multitasking, gaming, and on-device AI processing. Additional features may include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and OxygenOS 17 based on Android 17.

There is a possibility that the rising component costs may result in higher pricing, with early estimates suggesting a starting price of around 5,000 Yuan (~$725). It is expected to launch in China around October, followed by a global rollout in November.

Ahead of the April 21 launch event, Oppo has showcased the Find X9s Pro paired with a new silver-colored Hasselblad telephoto lens. This external accessory features a full metal build and attaches to the phone through a rotating mechanism, allowing quick and secure mounting.

The accessory is designed to handle long-distance photography scenarios such as sports events and wildlife capture. When paired with the phone’s camera system, it aims to extend zoom capabilities while maintaining image clarity and color consistency associated with Hasselblad tuning.

The silver finish and premium materials give it a look similar to professional camera lenses, making it more than a typical smartphone attachment.

The Find X9s Pro is expected to feature a dual 200-megapixel camera system, including a high-resolution primary sensor and a telephoto lens. This setup positions it among the few smartphones offering dual 200-megapixel cameras, focusing heavily on imaging performance.

Redmi K90 Ultra’s arrival seemingly teased, another K90 series phone may join

A new Redmi flagship appears to be on the horizon for the Chinese market, with recent leaks pointing towards multiple additions to the K90 lineup. The Redmi K90 Ultra is expected to debut soon, but it may not arrive alone.

Redmi K90 Ultra incoming

The Redmi K90 Ultra has reportedly cleared certification and is expected to launch this month. Wei Siqi, General Manager of Xiaomi China Marketing Department, recently hinted at the device through a Weibo post shared from a new phone.

One of its standout features is likely to be an internal cooling fan, marking Xiaomi’s first smartphone with active cooling. This system is expected to maintain stable performance during heavy workloads such as gaming. The fan may also adjust automatically based on temperature and usage, helping balance performance and efficiency.

The Redmi K90 Ultra is tipped to feature the Dimensity 9500 chipset, built on TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process, offering noticeable performance improvements. It is also expected to pack an 8500mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging, focusing on both endurance and quick charging.

At the same time, a separate leak from Digital Chat Station that emerged a few weeks ago revealed that another K90 series device is in development. While the exact name is unclear, it is believed that this model could launch as the Redmi K90 Pro, potentially alongside the Ultra variant.

The alleged K90 Pro said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. It may include a high refresh rate display, an 8000mAh battery, and an internal cooling fan for sustained performance. Additional features could include an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, and a water-resistant build.

Reports indicate that this Snapdragon-powered model could be positioned between the existing Redmi K90 and K90 Pro Max. Earlier rumors had also hinted that both the K90 Pro and K90 Ultra could launch together.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra telephoto system detailed: Built-in 10x zoom, Hasselblad external lens

Reports have revealed that one of the periscope telephoto cameras of the forthcoming Oppo Find X9 Ultra will offer up to 10x optical zoom. Like its previous generation, the company is expected to offer more powerful zooming capabilities by providing an optional Hasselblad telephoto extender system. Recently, Oppo Find Series product manager Zhuo Shijie shared the details about Find X9 Ultra’s telephoto extender.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra promises a top-notch photography experience

Oppo Find X9 Ultra

According to Oppo Find Series product manager Zhuo Shijie, the idea of a “complete telephoto experience” begins with something that is always available. As mentioned above, the Find X9 Ultra is said to feature an integrated 10x optical zoom telephoto lens, developed in collaboration with Hasselblad. This built-in system is designed to capture moments instantly without requiring any additional accessories.

He explained that most real-life moments are fleeting, and users should not have to depend on external gear. Whether it is shooting sports or distant portraits, the built-in telephoto aims to deliver detailed output with a refined colour tone inspired by Hasselblad imaging.

For users who seek higher optical performance, Oppo is also working on an external telephoto kit. Unlike typical add-ons, this is positioned as a full-fledged optical system. It reportedly uses 16 precision glass elements to improve light intake and overall image clarity.

The external module is said to match the finish and design standards of Hasselblad lenses, offering a more premium and durable feel. When combined with the phone’s internal telephoto camera, especially the mid-range zoom lens, this setup is expected to deliver a higher level of image quality.

This dual approach reflects Oppo’s attempt to balance convenience and professional-grade performance. The built-in lens covers everyday needs, while the external kit caters to specialised use cases where maximum optical precision matters.

Samsung Galaxy S26 FE visits Geekbench with Android 17, Exynos 2500

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE

A few weeks ago, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S26 trio, which includes the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. At present, there is no clarity on whether there will be a successor to the Galaxy S25 Edge this year, but it appears that the brand could be working on the Galaxy S26 FE. The said device has seemingly appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking platform, hinting at its development.

— Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd) April 3, 2026

A device believed to be the Galaxy S26 FE, carrying the model number SM-S741, has appeared on Geekbench. The listing indicates a deca-core processor configuration with clock speeds reaching up to 3.30GHz, supported by multiple performance and efficiency cores. Details from the source code also point towards the presence of the Xclipse 950 GPU, suggesting that the phone could be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2500 chipset.

The benchmark entry further reveals that the device is running Android 17 and is paired with around 8GB of RAM. In terms of scores, it has recorded a single-core result of 2,426 and a multi-core score of 8,004, showing a noticeable improvement over the previous generation, especially in multi-core performance.

The appearance of Android 17 on the test unit suggests that the Galaxy S26 FE could be among the early devices to launch with the next version of Android out of the box. At the same time, the use of the Exynos 2500 aligns with Samsung’s approach of positioning the FE model slightly below its flagship counterparts in terms of raw performance.

Earlier expectations hinted at a possible shift to a newer chipset, but this listing indicates that Samsung may continue with a more balanced hardware strategy. It is also worth noting that benchmark results can vary depending on software versions, and this test was conducted on an older Geekbench build, which may influence the scores.

Vivo T5 Pro teasers begin, reveals 9,020mAh battery, an extender kit, under Rs 20,000 price

Vivo has started teasing its next T series smartphone for India, the Vivo T5 Pro 5G, hinting at a launch in the coming days. While the exact date is still under wraps, early details have surfaced through official teasers and reports, giving a fair idea of what to expect.

— vivo India (@Vivo_India) April 3, 2026

The Vivo T5 Pro 5G has appeared on Flipkart via a dedicated microsite, confirming its availability on the platform once it launches. The teaser highlights a large 9,020mAh battery, with Vivo claiming it could be the slimmest phone in its segment to carry such a capacity. The device is also expected to support up to 120FPS gaming, indicating a focus on performance alongside endurance.

In terms of design, the phone is shown with a dual rear camera setup placed in a pill-shaped module. The button placement appears slightly different, with the power and volume keys positioned on the left side, while the right side remains clean. At the bottom, it includes a USB Type-C port, speaker grille, and SIM tray.

The fine print of the Flipkart listing reveals that it will be priced between Rs 10,000 and Rs 20,000. It also mentions an extender kit that will be sold separately, which could be a game-changer in this segment, as phones under Rs 20,000 rarely offer expandable or accessory-based camera enhancements. If this builds on the idea seen with the Vivo T4 Pro’s periscope-style zoom approach, it could bring more versatile photography to a price range that typically sticks to basic camera hardware.

The handset is tipped to feature a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It could be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and may run on Android 16-based OriginOS 6. Fast charging support of up to 90W is also expected, along with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max tipped to retain rear display, launch in September

Xiaomi 17 Pro Max

Xiaomi’s next flagship lineup, likely called the Xiaomi 18 series, has started appearing in leaks ahead of its expected September 2026 debut. Early details suggest that the brand is sticking with a familiar design direction while adding deeper AI-driven enhancements to the experience.

Xiaomi 18 Pro series: Rear display to be more powerful than before

According to tipster Smart Pikachu, the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max are expected to continue with the rear display concept seen in the previous generation. This secondary screen is said to evolve into an AI-powered smart window, enabling more dynamic and context-aware interactions instead of functioning as a simple auxiliary display.

The tipster has also indicated that the Xiaomi 18 series is likely to be unveiled in September, aligning with Xiaomi’s typical flagship launch cycle. Earlier statements from company leadership had already confirmed continued investment in rear display technology, with a focus on improving usability through frequent feature updates.

Existing features such as live translation, video teleprompter tools, and interactive elements are expected to be further refined with stronger AI integration, making the rear panel a more functional part of the device.

On the imaging side, the Pro model is reportedly being tested with a dual 200-megapixel camera setup, covering both the main and telephoto sensors. This could significantly enhance light capture and detail, particularly for zoom photography. Meanwhile, the standard Xiaomi 18 is expected to introduce a periscope telephoto camera, marking a notable upgrade for the base variant.

Performance improvements are also anticipated across the lineup. The Xiaomi 18 series is expected to debut with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, built on a 2nm process. The Pro and Pro Max versions could feature a more powerful variant of the same chip, along with upgrades to haptics and speaker quality.

In addition, Xiaomi is reportedly testing external optical accessories such as magnetic lenses and clip-on zoom modules, which may further expand the camera capabilities beyond the built-in hardware.

Redmi is expected to unveil the Redmi Note 17 series in the third quarter of this year in China. Months ahead of the launch, tipster Digital Chat Station has seemingly revealed key details about what appears to be the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Max key details seemingly revealed

The above leak by DCS suggests that Redmi is evaluating a phone featuring a 7-inch flat display and a battery of around 10,000mAh. While he did not specify the name of the device, some have speculated in the comments that he could be referring to the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max.

A previous leak claimed that this 10,000mAh Redmi phone may support 100W charging and could feature a 200-megapixel primary camera. At present, there is no information available about the other specifications of this phone.

What happened to the Redmi Note 16 series?

Since Redmi unveiled the Redmi Note 15 series in August 2025 in China, the next-generation series was expected to be called the Note 16. However, a report by XiaomiTime revealed that IMEI database listings indicate the next lineup will be called the Note 17. Readers are advised to wait for more reports to confirm whether the company has finalized the Note 17 branding for its next Note series.

This generational skip aligns with Xiaomi’s decision to skip the Xiaomi 16 and jump directly to Xiaomi 17 this year after launching the Xiaomi 15 series last year.
