Samsung simplifies 24MP settings with latest Camera Assistant update

19 March 2026 at 18:52

Samsung has released a new update for its Camera Assistant app with version 4.5.00.20. This update is available for Galaxy S26 series running One UI 8.5. The update is small, but it makes using the camera a little easier and better.

The biggest change in this Camera Assistant update is related to the 24MP photo option. Samsung has made it easier to find and use. Along with that, the company has also improved camera stabilization. This means your photos can look clearer, even if your hands are slightly shaky while taking pictures.

Earlier, the 24MP option was hidden inside the advanced settings in the Camera Assistant app. Many users didn’t notice it because it was not easy to find. Now, Samsung has moved this option to the main settings screen. This new interface is simple and saves time. You don’t have to go through many steps anymore.

The 24MP mode gives a good balance as it offers better detail than 12MP photos, but it avoids issues seen in very high resolutions. The 24MP feature is available on the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. You can also turn on the β€œKeep 24MP resolution” option, so the camera always opens in 24MP mode.

Aside from this update, the update also enhances stability of the app to provide a better Galaxy experience. You can download or update the Camera Assistant app from the Galaxy Store >> Menu option >> Updates or directly from the Good Lock app.
