Etihad Airways is set to elevate travel between the Middle East and Southeast Asia with the introduction of its Airbus A380 on the Abu Dhabi–Bangkok route from October 25, 2026. For the first time, travellers flying to Thailand will experience the airline’s flagship double-decker aircraft, complete with The Residence — the only three-room suite available on a commercial airliner anywhere in the world.

The deployment of the A380 on the daily evening service between Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi and Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport marks a major capacity boost on one of the carrier’s busiest leisure corridors. The move comes as demand for winter travel continues to surge, particularly among passengers connecting between Thailand, the Gulf region and key European cities.

“The A380 transforms the journey into part of the holiday itself. From The Residence – the world’s only three-room suite in the sky – and our private First Apartments, to the spacious Business lie-flat seats and thoughtfully enhanced Economy cabin, every guest experiences something special onboard.

“With the A380 flying to Bangkok, we’re offering greater choice and significant additional capacity on one of our most popular leisure routes. Guests can immerse themselves in Thailand’s beaches and vibrant city life, or choose to extend their trip with a stopover in Abu Dhabi – turning one holiday into two and discovering everything our home city has to offer.”

By positioning the A380 on this route ahead of the peak season, the airline is not only adding more seats but also redefining the onboard experience for travellers heading to one of Asia’s most visited destinations. Both flights will operate daily using the Airbus A380.
