The Red Devils ace is currently on loan at Barca for the season, and club director Deco has spoken about how happy he is with him.

Rashford has ten goals and nine assists for Barcelona so far, and it seems Deco would be happy to try to keep him at the Nou Camp permanently.

Speaking to Sport, Deco provided some insight into the Rashford situation, whilst also discussing how Villa wanted to keep him after having him on loan in the second half of last season.

Deco on Marcus Rashford’s Barcelona future

“Yes, definitely [we’re pleased with him]. I don’t think it’s easy to come here,” Deco said, as quoted by Football Espana.

“He’s a footballer who has played at a very high level, with enormous demands at a club like Manchester United. Then he spent six months at Aston Villa, where he did a very good job.

“In fact, Aston Villa, if they could have, would have kept him; I know this because I’ve spoken to people there. But he only wanted to come to Barca, and that’s a very positive thing.

“We were able to secure a loan. The fact that he took a pay cut to make it happen is a clear demonstration that he really wanted to come, and we’re very happy about that.

“He’s a player who contributes a lot to the team.”

Marcus Rashford is thriving away from the Premier League

Even if Rashford was decent during his loan spell at Villa Park, it perhaps makes sense that he was keen to try a new challenge abroad.

The England international spent his entire career at Old Trafford until last season, and he truly looks back to his best now that he’s trying a new experience in La Liga.

It will be interesting to see if Barcelona definitely end up making Rashford’s move permanent, but if they don’t then it’s perhaps hard to imagine he’ll be rushing back to English football.

Some United fans would surely be open to seeing Rashford back in the team, but that ship has also surely sailed after his total loss of form before leaving the club.

When Robert Lewandowski will decide between Barcelona stay & five potential transfer destinations

12 February 2026 at 18:59

Robert Lewandowski is reportedly yet to decide on his Barcelona future as he also looks set to have plenty of transfer offers from elsewhere.

The Poland international is coming towards the end of his Barca contract, and it’s not yet clear if this will end up being his final campaign at the Nou Camp.

It seems Lewandowski is waiting to see the outcome of the Barcelona presidential election before deciding on a potential new contract with the club, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Meanwhile, the report also states that clubs like AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, and Fenerbahce are showing an interest in Lewandowski, along with clubs in the Saudi Pro League and MLS.

Robert Lewandowski could still stay in Europe

Despite turning 38 later this year, it doesn’t look like Lewandowski is done at the highest level just yet as he continues to shine for Barcelona.

2023/24 49 26

2025/26 28 13

The former Bayern Munich front-man has 13 goals in 28 games so far this season, taking his total to 114 goals in 175 appearances since joining the Catalan giants.

If Barcelona do decide to keep Lewandowski, it’s hard to imagine him staying for longer than a year, but it might be that he also still has the chance to play elsewhere in Europe.

It would be interesting to see him at an historic club like Milan, as he could surely follow in the footsteps of the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Luka Modric, who also managed to shine at the San Siro even in their late 30s and early 40s.

Still, even if Lewandowski decides to take a slightly easier pay day option in Saudi or the US, he’ll undoubtedly go down as one of the greats of his generation.

The prolific striker has a stunning record of 744 goals in 1085 total career appearances for club and country, and has won numerous major titles such as the Champions League, the Bundesliga, and La Liga.

Tottenham star’s future in serious doubt as Barcelona & Real Madrid circle

6 February 2026 at 11:15

Cristian Romero’s standing as one of the Premier League’s most combative and accomplished centre-backs has not gone unnoticed across Europe, and his future at Tottenham is now under growing scrutiny.

According to TEAMtalk, both Barcelona and Real Madrid are showing serious interest in the Argentine defender amid signs of mounting frustration in north London.

At 27, Romero is entering what should be the peak years of his career.

Since arriving at Tottenham Hotspur, he has established himself as the heart of Spurs’ defense, admired for his aggression, leadership, and ability to thrive in high-pressure situations.

However, despite his individual growth, Tottenham’s wider project has struggled to match his ambitions.

Frustration behind the scenes at Tottenham

Romero’s discontent appears to stem from Tottenham’s recruitment strategy and their perceived inability to consistently strengthen the squad with elite-level signings.

Spurs’ recent transfer windows have focused heavily on youth, depth, and financial sustainability rather than marquee arrivals, a model that has drawn mixed reactions from senior players.

The defender’s frustration became public after he took to Instagram to comment on Spurs’ lack of squad depth, describing the situation as “unbelievable but true and disgraceful.”

While Romero did not explicitly call out the club hierarchy, the timing and tone of the message were widely interpreted as a clear expression of dissatisfaction, particularly given Tottenham’s recurring injury problems and struggles to compete on multiple fronts.

A move to Spain could appeal to Cristian Romero

For Romero, the appeal of a move to Spain is clear. Both Barcelona and Real Madrid offer regular Champions League football and realistic chances of competing for major honours, ambitions Romero is believed to hold strongly.

Barcelona admire his intensity and front-foot defending, viewing him as a potential long-term leader in their back line as they continue to rebuild under financial and sporting constraints.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, are always alert to opportunities involving elite defenders.

With an ageing defensive core and a long-term succession plan already in motion, Romero’s profile, battle-hardened, experienced, and still in his prime, fits their recruitment philosophy.
