Bucs bounce back in doubleheader to take series with split against Wofford

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) β East Tennessee State softball split its doubleheader with Wofford on Saturday, using a 7-4 win in the second game to secure the Southern Conference series victory.
The Buccaneers (17-23, 5-10 SoCon) dropped the opener 15-3 before bouncing back in game two to claim their second conference series win of the season.
Wofford moves to 28-15 overall and 6-9 in league play.
In the second matchup, both teams struck early as the Terriers scored twice in the first inning before ETSU answered with three runs in the bottom half, using a string of singles, a double to take the lead.
Catlin Pennington kept Wofford in check in the circle, holding the Terriers scoreless through five innings. Wofford plated two runs in the seventh, but Muncy closed the door with her second save of the season.
The Bucs return to the diamond Tuesday, April 21, on the road against Tennessee Tech.
