Tiger Woods followed up on his recent arrest with a legal step!
The pro golfer, who was charged with misdemeanor DUI and refusal to submit to a lawful test after his accident on Friday, March 27, has now entered a plea in the case.
Tiger Woods reportedly scored a 0.0 in his breathalyzer test, which meant no alcohol was in his system, but he informed the cops that he was on prescription pills and had used one earlier that morning.
Tiger Woods Teamed Up With His 2017 DUI Attorney In New Case

The professional golfer retained the services of Douglas Duncan to help him prove his innocence in the DUI case by entering a not-guilty plea deal. Duncan, who represented Woods in his 2017 DUI case, has now been listed as the attorney of record and filed a waiver of his client’s presence at the pretrial conferences on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
Duncan was on seat to defend the golfing legend when he was found deep asleep behind the wheel of a running car, and he eventually tested positive for five variants of drugs, including hydrocodone. Two of the same pills were found in his pocket when he was arrested last Friday, according to the arrest affidavit.
As shared by TMZ, Woods confessed to the cops that the crash was caused when he lost concentration while driving as he tried to change the radio station on his cell phone, oblivious of the fact that the car before him had slowed down.
The 50-Year-Old Earned Positive Remarks From President Donald Trump Post-Arrest

Woods’ latest supporter came straight from the Oval Office in the person of Trump, who reassured the public that the golfer was on the right path, and they had a brief conversation since he was arrested.
The Blast reported that the president reiterated that Woods tested negative for alcohol, but he is also dealing with great levels of pain due to his past accidents and injuries. The golfer was involved in a nasty accident in 2021, which left him needing several orthopedic surgeries due to his shattered ankle and a fractured talus bone needing screws and pins to keep them stable.
Trump added that Woods has kept a clean slate when it comes to consuming alcohol, although the enormous pain in his life may get tougher to deal with. The golf champion has, however, shared that extreme pain from his injuries has made him reliant on painkillers and prescription opioids.
Tiger Woods Has A Past Filled With Car Crashes

The golf world championship’s latest crash is not his first nor second, and here is a timeline to show for it. PEOPLE noted that in 2009, he crashed his car into a fire hydrant and a tree right outside his neighbor’s home in Windermere, but no injuries were recorded.
Nearly a decade later, he was arrested and subsequently charged with a DUI after authorities found him knocked out in a car with several pain prescriptions in his system. Following the 2017 incident, Woods admitted himself to a clinic for professional help to manage his prescription medication for a sleep disorder and back pain.
In February 2021, he experienced a very fatal car accident in California when his vehicle hit a tree, struck a center divider, and landed alongside the road, leading to injuries that required emergency surgery. The golfer dealt with the daunting physical effects of the accident on his body up until he got involved in yet another mishap a few days ago.
The Father-Of-Two Revealed He Nearly Lost His Leg After His 2021 Accident

Woods broke his silence following the 2021 accident, stating that the severe nature of the injuries he suffered made amputating his leg an option. However, he was able to avoid that and spent harrowing months in rehab dealing with unimaginable pain from the experience.
Later that year, Woods went in for a back procedure and microdiscectomy to combat a nerve pain that had gotten so stubborn. Two years later, in April 2023, he was back on the surgery table to address another injury caused by the accident, which was a post-traumatic arthritis in his right ankle.
Woods had another major surgery last October, where he had his lumbar disc replaced to address his back issues. Months before, in March, he went in for another operation for a ruptured Achilles tendon.
Tiger Woods May Walk From DUI Charges According To Experts

The 50-year-old will return to court in April to begin the case for his charges, but a South Florida defense attorney, Robert Reiff, is declaring that there is no case in the DUI case.
According to the attorney, his analysis stemmed from the fact that since Woods did not submit to a urine test, it would be difficult for prosecutors to prove that an unwanted substance could cause his alleged behavior during questioning. The golfer was allegedly sweating while the cops attended to him, and his pupils appeared dilated, all while being super alert.
As noted by The Blast, the attorney stated that sometimes [officers] go to the default position where they declare a person impaired from consuming drugs based on passing a breath test. He concluded that from all indications, the odds are greatly in Woods’ favor, adding “I’ll certainly tell you from what I’ve been hearing … it sure doesn’t seem like they have proof — at least not of the DUI.”
