After S25 and S26 Ultra, Samsung’s underwater camera feature is now available on Galaxy Z Fold 7
Samsung’s Ocean Mode, the underwater photography feature, has now landed on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Starting with the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung has opened Ocean Mode for general users, which recently expanded to the S25 Ultra.
Ocean Mode applies auto color correction tuned specifically for underwater conditions. Motion blur reduction tightens things up and there’s an interval shooting option that fires continuous shots at two, five, or ten second gaps.
The core problem with underwater photography on a smartphone is physics. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 carries an IP48 rating, which means the foldable smartphone can handle submersion in fresh water beyond one meter.
The ocean is not where you want to be taking a phone with Ocean Mode without protection. Samsung’s own warning message, which pops up when you activate Ocean Mode on the Z Fold 7, tells you directly to use an underwater housing case.

A quality submersible case built for the Z Fold 7 form factor changes everything here. It keeps the saltwater out, handles actual depth pressure, and lets you use Ocean Mode the way it was designed to function.
Samsung has been systematically trickling Ocean Mode down the device chain since the S24 Ultra exclusive. The S26 Ultra, then the S25 Ultra via beta, now the Z Fold 7. Expect it to reach other devices via Expert RAW app.
