Video: Arsenal star appears to strike Atletico Madrid player in the face in post-match brawl

6 May 2026 at 16:17

Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus appeared to hit or slap Atletico Madrid player Marc Pubill in the face after last night’s Champions League semi-final at the Emirates Stadium.

The Brazil international clearly reacted badly when Pubill approached him and his teammates in their post-match celebrations, and it’s not quite clear if something was said that provoked his reaction.

Take a look at the video clip below and decide for yourselves, but there seems to quite clearly be contact between Jesus’ hand and his opponent’s face…

This is certainly not the kind of thing anyone wants to see after what was otherwise an intriguing game between two top teams.

Arsenal players were surely perfectly entitled to celebrate reaching a first Champions League final in 20 years, so it seems strange that Pubill felt he had to get involved, even if there can be no justification for Jesus reacting so aggressively.

Arsenal to face Bayern or PSG in Champions League final

Arsenal’s win last night means they’re now preparing to travel to Budapest on 30th of May to take on the winner of tonight’s other semi-final.

Paris Saint-Germain beat Bayern Munich 5-4 in a thrilling first leg encounter last week, and it seems tough to predict who will come out on top this evening.

Arsenal have already beaten Bayern this season as they ran out 3-1 winners in a league phase game at the Emirates, while they lost to PSG in last season’s semi-finals.

Whoever they face, Mikel Arteta’s side will arguably not be the favourites, but they remain unbeaten in the Champions League this season and have no reason to doubt themselves as they look to win this trophy for the first time in their history.

‘Might leave..’ – Ex-player names Arsenal star destined for summer exit

3 May 2026 at 15:39

As the season approaches its dramatic conclusion this May, the tension around North London isn’t just about the Premier League title race.

While Mikel Arteta remains hyper-focused on the pitch, Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has dropped a massive truth bomb about the makeup of the squad heading into next season.

The “Romford Pele” has publicly predicted that Gabriel Jesus is edging incredibly close to the exit door, perfectly coinciding with wild reports that the Gunners could sensationally transfer-list four other first-team players.

Jesus’ time at Arsenal has been a bit of a rollercoaster. When he first arrived, he completely transformed the Gunners’ frontline with his relentless pressing and chaotic energy.

However, fast forward to today, and his starting spot is no longer fully guaranteed.

Parlour tips Jesus to leave Arsenal

According to Parlour’s comments, as reported by Metro, the Brazilian striker’s sheer desire for guaranteed minutes will likely push him away this summer.

“I think Jesus might leave at the end of the season, he is at that age where he wants to be playing week in, week out,” Parlour explained.

The Arsenal icon pointed out that modern squads need serious depth, recalling his own playing days: “We had four strikers when I played. That is what I don’t understand. [Regardless of Jesus leaving], bring in another one anyway”.

Parlour firmly believes that fresh attacking blood would raise the competitive standards across the entire dressing room.

But Jesus might not be the only massive name clearing out his locker. To fund their highly ambitious summer targets, specifically, making a permanent swoop for standout defender Piero Hincapie, Arsenal reportedly need to generate serious cash.

Gunners could make major changes in the summer

Reports have emerged suggesting that four massive players have been incredibly placed on the chopping block, Gabriel Martinelli, Ben White, Ethan Nwaneri, and Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Selling established superstars like Martinelli or White feels utterly unthinkable given their immense contributions under Arteta.

Throwing generational academy talents like Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly into the mix does not make sense either.

However, the harsh financial reality of the Premier League means that no player is truly untouchable if a massive bid arrives to help fund defensive reinforcements.

If Parlour’s instincts are right, Arsenal are staring down the barrel of a wildly transformative summer transfer window.
