Samsung is aggressively expanding the One UI 8.5 testing scope to Galaxy A series phones. The company is not just focusing on premium Galaxy devices, but also adding mid-range and budget models to the Alpha chart.

Now, tipster AkhileshKumar spotted credible evidence linked to One UI 8.5 for three popular Samsung Galaxy A phones. It includes the Galaxy A35, along with the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A33 from the year 2022.

Samsung launched Galaxy A33 and A53 shortly after the Galaxy S22 flagships. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A35 landed alongside the A55 in 2024. The former device has already joined the testing phase around a week ago.

First One UI 8.5 builds:

  • Galaxy A35: A356BXXU7DYL2
  • Galaxy A55: A556EXXUBDYL2
  • Galaxy A53: A536BXXUIHYL6
  • Galaxy A33: A336BXXUFHYL6

The four devices have already jumped to the Android 16-based One UI 8. The upcoming One UI 8.5 update is also based on One UI 8.0. However, the new version adds visual tweaks and functional reliability for better UX.

The newer Galaxy A phones will likely benefit from One UI 8.5 more. Samsung may offer enhanced AI tools and editing tricks to the recent models. The distribution will be impacted by the hardware capabilities of the devices.

One UI 8.5 is slated to offer significant improvements to Galaxy A phones. The user interface will become completely dynamic, leveraging the addition of a new blur engine, translucent cards with vibrant colors, and so on.

Samsung released the second One UI 8.5 Beta to the Galaxy S25 series earlier this week. The update will arrive in January 2026, and the official reveal is likely in March. Older devices should start getting the Stable update in Q2 2026.
