Google adds Google Maps location alerts to Find Hub

20 May 2026 at 18:47

Google is adding a very useful feature to its Find Hub app for Android. The new feature lets users get notifications when a person sharing their location arrives at or leaves a place. This feature was already available in Google Maps, and now it is finally coming to Find Hub as well.

The feature works in a simple way. If someone is already sharing their live location with you, you can open the People tab in Find Hub and tap on their profile. There, you will see a new option called β€œGet location notifications.” After tapping it, you can choose to get alerts when the person arrives at a place, leaves a place, or both.

Users can select locations like home, office, school, or any custom address. This makes it easier for families and friends to stay updated without checking someone’s location again and again.

Google has also added privacy protection. The feature only works if the other person has already shared their location with you. They can also turn off notifications anytime they want. Google will even inform users if someone creates a location alert for them.

This update makes Find Hub more helpful for daily use. Parents can know when children reach school safely, friends can track arrivals during trips, and family members can stay connected more easily.

With this update, Google is making Find Hub better and more useful. The app is no longer just for finding lost devices, but also for helping people stay informed about the location of loved ones.
