Samsung dropped a massive refresh for five official apps for One UI 8.5, and the new iterations also run perfectly on One UI 8. You can download the apps and unlock early access to the updated Samsung apps today.
One UI 8.5 Beta is expected to launch on December 8 for the Galaxy S25 series. The company is conducting internal tests to verify the buildβs stability. The most recent Beta build carried significant UI changes for apps.
Samsungβs Calculator, Calendar, Clock, Internet, and Reminder apps adopted a new design. Some apps received dynamic animations, while some settled for a subtle background tweak.
The redesign included a floating navigation bar for all apps. The Calculator app has even received an enhanced icon with a 3D design, featuring depth effect for UI components.
The apps feature a stunning new design in Light and Dark mode settings. The design elegance has reached a whole new level in One UI 8.5, laying an incredible foundation for the years ahead.

The updated apps run perfectly on Samsung phones running One UI 8. The design upgrades are worth welcoming with elegant tweaks. However, you need to manually install new app files on your Galaxy device to unlock early access.
Auto Blocker would restrict you from sideloading apps on your Galaxy. After downloading the new app files, head over to Auto Blocker settings and disable it until you sideload the APKs; once installed, you can enable it again.

Various Samsung apps, including Calendar, Internet, Notes, and Reminder, have adopted an updated design ahead of the One UI 8.5 Beta Program.
These apps join the Samsung Clock and Samsung Calculator apps, which have an integrated, dynamic new user interface. The company is elevating the appearance of its stock apps to deliver a more unified look in One UI 8.5.
The apps originated from Samsungβs One UI 8.5 version, via NirmalSri. The upcoming OS brings fruitful design and UI upgrades to stock apps. The redesign includes a pill-shaped tab and search bars, as well as overlay search and back buttons.
Samsung hasnβt just updated the design inside but also worked on its icons. Some apps have adopted refreshed icons with a depth effect. The on-icon components have added a 3D effect to present a floating appearance.
With One UI 8.5, Samsung would mark an end to the flat design era. Everything would become floating with modern aesthetics. Previously, the UI changes were noticed in system functions, which have now expanded to apps.
Samsung Clock and Calculator have adopted a striking new background. Itβs great to see Samsung apps evolving along with One UI. Galaxy users will have a uniform experience with reliable functionality across all aspects.
Samsung is preparing to launch the One UI 8.5 Beta Program. It is expected to be limited to the Galaxy S25 series, with the first sign-up reportedly kicking off Monday. You can read more about the Beta Program in our recent article.
