Leaked Samsung prototype shows a four camera TriFold phone
Samsungβs upcoming Galaxy Z TriFold is getting a lot of attention as it prepares for launch. The company is about to release its first tri-folding phone in South Korea, with a US release expected soon. But a surprising prototype with four cameras has now been spotted, which sparks new discussions among fans.
The Korean tech giant already announced that the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold will be available on December 12, 2025, in South Korea. As Samsung gets ready to introduce its first tri-folding smartphone, an unexpected twist has appeared.
A prototype of the Galaxy Z TriFold has surfaced in a LinkedIn post shared by Omar Saheb, VP of Marketing and E-commerce at Samsung Electronics MENA, which shows a four-camera setup. This has made people curious about what Samsung tested before finalizing the design.

At first glance, the device looks like the official model, but the camera setup is different. Instead of three rear cameras, the prototype has four. The extra camera, placed at the bottom, is thinner than the other three, which suggests Samsung tried out different camera plans while designing the phone.
The official Galaxy Z TriFold reportedly comes with a strong 200MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera with autofocus, and a 10MP telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom and OIS. The fourth camera seen in the prototype might have been a 50MP sensor with 5x optical zoom.
Itβs normal for companies to try different ideas before deciding on the final design. This four-camera prototype was likely one of the many test versions created during development. Samsung may have chosen the three-camera setup to keep the design simpler.
