Samsung has its first Qi2 magnetic wireless battery pack in the works for the Galaxy S26 series. It’s the latest development, which confirms the Qi2 technology’s inclusion in the upcoming flagship smartphones.

Recently, the Wireless Power Consortium database leaked the Samsung Qi2 magnetic wireless battery pack for the Galaxy S26 phones. This gadget will give you peace of mind when you are away from a power source.

Battery pack design

Samsung’s Qi2 battery pack features a rectangular design. To align with the camera module placement, the company has bumped up the magnetic portion. It somewhat overcomes the issue of the wireless charging coil near the camera.

It shows Samsung has crafted this battery pack keeping in mind the Galaxy’s design language. Even though the image sensors remain placed the same as before, the modern wireless charging tech is finally being realized.

Samsung brought Qi2 charging support to its Galaxy S and Z phones this year. However, the devices require a special accessory to support the charging mechanism. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 series features charging magnets inside.

Thanks to the full-fledged Qi2 support, Galaxy S26 users won’t be required to purchase such accessories. The phone will itself qualify for Qi2 charging, and rumors say Samsung is expected to adopt the faster Qi 2.2 standard.

Galaxy S26 Ultra could support 25W wireless charging, while the S26 and S26 Plus could be capped at 20W. Samsung is bringing an upgrade to this aspect for the first time in nearly six years, elevating the user experience.

Samsung’s new Qi2 25W wireless charger hints at magnetic Galaxy S26

Samsung is currently working to launch the next Galaxy S series, Galaxy S26 series, in 2026. The company is reportedly preparing a major upgrade for its wireless charging technology with the upcoming Galaxy S26 series.

For years, Samsung has supported wireless charging, but it never fully adopted the newer Qi2 magnetic standard. Now, new information suggests that this is finally about to change. The upcoming Galaxy S26 phones are expected to include built-in magnets.

According to the latest information via WinFuture, Samsung is working on a new Qi2 wireless charging dock with support for 25W charging. The product appears under the model number EP-P2900, though no pictures have been revealed yet.

This charger would be Samsung’s first official 25W Qi2 accessory. It hints that the Galaxy S26 series will support stronger magnetic alignment, which is required for the newer Qi2.2 25W speeds.

Until now, Samsung has used a halfway approach. Instead of putting magnets inside the phones, Samsung released “Qi2 Ready” cases that added magnets externally. Because the phones lacked built-in magnetic alignment, Samsung’s Qi2 chargers were limited to 15W, which was the maximum allowed by the older Qi2 version.

Rumors say Samsung may offer different Qi2 charging speeds across the S26 lineup. The Galaxy S26 Ultra might support the full 25W, while the Galaxy S26 and S26+ could be limited to around 20W.

If all these reports are accurate, the Galaxy S26 series will bring a more modern and dependable wireless charging experience. Stay tuned for more information.
