Samsung simplifies its Internet Browser name on new Galaxy phones
Samsung has quietly changed the name of its default web browser on some of its newest phones. The app that was earlier called Samsung Internet will now be known as Samsung Browser.
This new change has been noticed on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, which runs on the new One UI 8.5 software. The new name makes the browser easier to recognize.
Samsung Internet has been renamed to Samsung Browser. On the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the app is simply shown as βBrowserβ in the app drawer. This is because Samsung started removing the word βSamsungβ from many of its default apps with the One UI 7.0 update.

When users check the app in the Galaxy Store on the Galaxy S26, the new name Samsung Browser can also be seen there. The name change comes with version 29.0.4.45 of the app.
Right now, the new name is only visible on devices running One UI 8.5. Older Galaxy phones are still using the old name. The Galaxy S23 Ultra running One UI 8.0 still shows the app as Samsung Internet Browser. The version available there is 29.0.1.12.
Aside from this, the Galaxy S26 series is currently available for pre-order in many markets. The new phones come with better performance, new features, and the latest One UI software. Samsung is offering amazing discounts on these new Galaxy S26 phones.
