Samsung shutting down a service no one cares about
Samsung has officially announced that it will be shutting down the Samsung Free app. The app, which offered news, articles, and games in one place, hasnβt been very popular with users. Now, Samsung is finally putting an end to this Free app.
The official notification mentions that after December 16, Samsung Free will no longer be available. Users who like the Play tab for games can still use it through Samsungβs Gaming Hub. However, the Read tab, which had news and articles, will be gone forever.
Moreover, Samsung also explains that all personal data collected through the app will be deleted immediately after the shutdown. Any information that the company must keep by law will be stored only for the required period and then deleted. Users can check Samsungβs Privacy Policy for more details.

If you are still using Samsung Free, itβs important to save anything important before the app closes. Notably, gamers wonβt lose their progress as games can still be accessed via Gaming Hub.
The discontinuation of the Samsung Free app shows that the company aims to focus on improving the popular services and removing apps that are not widely used or popular. Stay tuned for more information.
