Samsung has officially announced that it will be shutting down the Samsung Free app. The app, which offered news, articles, and games in one place, hasn’t been very popular with users. Now, Samsung is finally putting an end to this Free app.

The official notification mentions that after December 16, Samsung Free will no longer be available. Users who like the Play tab for games can still use it through Samsung’s Gaming Hub. However, the Read tab, which had news and articles, will be gone forever.

Moreover, Samsung also explains that all personal data collected through the app will be deleted immediately after the shutdown. Any information that the company must keep by law will be stored only for the required period and then deleted. Users can check Samsung’s Privacy Policy for more details.

Aside from this, the Korean Tech giant has provided ways for users to ask questions or send feedback through the app.  Also, Samsung has thanked users for their support and promised to continue offering better services in the future.

If you are still using Samsung Free, it’s important to save anything important before the app closes. Notably, gamers won’t lose their progress as games can still be accessed via Gaming Hub.
