Samsung tablets could soon match Galaxy phones in a big way
Samsung is apparently working on Galaxy Tab tablets with a punch-hole display. The company may launch Galaxy Tab S12+ and Tab S12 Ultra later this year, and they could finally match Galaxy phones in a big way.
One UI 9 firmware has some animations linked to an unreleased Galaxy device. The animations showcase the Samsung tablet featuring a punch-hole display. The animations show the tablet rotating from horizontal to vertical.
While the tablet itself isnβt a big revelation, the design approach is. Samsung phones have long been using modern displays with a tiny hole for selfie camera. Galaxy tablets havenβt yet adopted that design, but 2026 may change that.
SamMobile reports that the animations arenβt included in the One UI 8.5 firmware. That said, the addition is purely limited to the latest One UI 9.0. It signals that the next generation of Samsung tablets will finally get a big upgrade.

Samsung is working on two tablet devices for 2026. The products may launch with MediaTekβs Dimensity 9500 processor. Early leaks indicate that the overall design may remain unchanged as Samsung focusing somewhere else.
Expect the Galaxy Tab S12 series to go official sometime in September or October this year. The Korean tech giant is currently focusing on foldable phones, which are slated for launch in late July in London.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 would bring a wide-screen design to challenge the upcoming iPhone Ultra. Samsung is giving the original Fold an Ultra identity, with notable upgrades including a 5000mAh battery and 45W wired charging support.
