Samsung’s Galaxy XR Is Finally Expanding Beyond the U.S. — Here’s Where It’s Headed Next

Samsung’s Galaxy XR launched last month in the US and Samsung’s home of South Korea. However, now we are hearing that it will be expanding to more countries in 2026.

According to SamMobile, the Galaxy XR headset will be available in Germany, France, Canada, and the UK next year. However, they are unable to share a timeframe other than 2026. This could be early 2026 or even late 2026. We’ll have to wait and see.

Given the pricing of the Galaxy XR, it’s unlikely that it would be made available “globally” anytime soon. But adding four more countries to the list is definitely a step in the right direction.

Samsung is unlikely to launch a Galaxy XR 2 in 2026

With this news, it is then unlikely that Samsung would launch a second-generation Galaxy XR in 2026. It wouldn’t make sense to expand it to four more countries, only to release a new one shortly thereafter.

Unless Samsung is planning for this expansion to be for the second-generation model. But we do think it’ll be a bit before Samsung releases a new model. Despite the fact that the chip being used in here is a bit old at this point.

Samsung Galaxy XR was met with a lot of anticipation and a lot of comparisons to Apple’s Vision Pro. Not only because they look very similar, but it’s the only other very high-end XR headset on the market. As Meta’s Quest 3 is quite a bit cheaper. Samsung was able to improve in a lot of the areas that Apple fell short in. Of course, the big one being the weight and comfort. The Galaxy XR is a lot more comfortable to wear versus the Vision Pro, even though I only had about a half an hour wearing the headset.

Galaxy XR is $1,799 and can be purchased from Samsung’s website right now.
