Sony’s Xperia 10 VII is getting the Android 16 update in select regions

According to user reports, Sony is rolling out the Android 16 update for the Xperia 10 VII units widely in Europe and Japan. Sony is rolling out the new firmware, which carries the build number 72.1.A.2.65, over the air.

The size of the update is around 1GB. Soon, the update will reach more Xperia 10 VII users globally. You can do a manual check for the update by going to your phone’s Settings > Software update section.

Android 16 brings a handful of goodies for Xperia devices

Sony already released the changelog of the Android 16 update for its Xperia phones earlier. The update brings a handful of goodies, including intelligent notifications, secure authentication, and visual improvements. Android 16 automatically groups similar alerts from the same app, so your phone doesn’t have a cluttered notifications bar.

Furthermore, the new update brings HDR screenshots, QR code position enhancements, and new image quality settings. There are new settings for Side Sense, lock screen customization options, new sound effect settings, battery status, and more.

It goes without saying that the new firmware improves the security of your smartphone significantly. You can check the complete changelog of the Android 16 update on Sony’s website.
