The legal battle between NFL star Stefon Diggs and the social media influencer accusing him of sexual assault has taken another dramatic turn. Christopher Griffith, who previously countersued the New England Patriots wide receiver, now claims he has produced more than 100 pages of communications between himself and Diggs as part of the ongoing court fight.

The filing marks the latest development in Stefon Diggs’ case, which has evolved from a public social media dispute into a sprawling legal battle involving allegations of sexual assault, defamation, intimidation, and an alleged cover-up.

According to newly filed court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, Griffith claims he has provided more than 100 pages of communications exchanged with Diggs. The materials reportedly include messages sent through iMessage and Instagram.

The dispute arose after Diggs alleged that Griffith failed to provide certain Instagram communications during the discovery process. Griffith pushed back on that claim, arguing that Diggs already has access to the messages because he participated in the conversations himself.

Diggs, however, reportedly told the court that Griffith blocked him on Instagram, preventing him from viewing older messages on the platform. As a result, the NFL star has asked a judge to order Griffith to turn over the communications.

The disagreement may seem technical on the surface, but it underscores how important digital communications could become as both sides attempt to prove their competing versions of events.

How The Legal Fight Began

The latest court battle stems from a defamation lawsuit Diggs filed in October 2025. In that lawsuit, obtained by TMZ Sports, the Patriots receiver accused Griffith of fabricating a series of shocking allegations tied to a night at Diggs’ Maryland home in May 2023. Diggs alleged that Griffith, whom he described as a “would-be social media influencer,” spread false claims to tens of thousands of followers online.

According to Diggs, the pair attended several venues in the Washington, D.C., area following a charity basketball event before returning to his home. The NFL star claimed the evening ended without incident and that Griffith later invented allegations that damaged his reputation, professional relationships, and endorsement opportunities.

Diggs’ lawsuit specifically alleged that Griffith tagged organizations including the NFL, the Patriots, and UGG in social media posts containing the accusations.

The dispute escalated significantly when Griffith filed a countersuit presenting a dramatically different account of what allegedly occurred. According to Griffith, he consumed a piece of candy repeatedly offered by Diggs during their night out and soon began feeling disoriented.

He alleges that after returning to Diggs’ home, the football player exposed himself, attempted to initiate sexual contact, and later sexually assaulted him. Diggs has denied those allegations.

Griffith further claims that after rejecting Diggs’ advances, he was threatened by individuals inside the home and warned not to speak about what had happened. Among the most serious allegations in the countersuit is Griffith’s claim that he was violently attacked outside his Los Angeles apartment roughly one week later.

He alleges the assault was connected to the earlier incident and claims Diggs’ younger brother, Darez Diggs, participated in the attack. Diggs has denied those allegations as well.

Why The Messages Could Become Crucial Evidence

The dispute over Instagram and text messages highlights a key issue that often emerges in high-profile civil litigation. In cases involving competing narratives, communications exchanged before and after the alleged events frequently become some of the most important pieces of evidence available to both sides.

The significance of Griffith’s latest filing is not necessarily the number of pages produced but rather what those messages could potentially reveal about the relationship between the two men before and after the alleged incident.

At this stage, neither side has publicly released the contents of the communications, making it impossible to determine whether they support either party’s claims. However, the fact that both sides are actively fighting over access to the messages suggests they may play a significant role as the case moves forward.

The legal battle comes during a period of heightened scrutiny for Diggs, one of the NFL’s most recognizable wide receivers. While the case remains in its early stages, the allegations have attracted significant public attention due to their severity and the high-profile nature of the athlete involved.

Importantly, the claims made by Griffith remain allegations, and no court has determined whether his accusations are true. Likewise, Diggs’ allegations that Griffith knowingly fabricated the story have not been proven in court.

For now, the latest filing serves as another sign that neither side is backing down.
